They said you just have to call to let them know. BUT THEY DONT ANSWER THE PHONES! When that was pointed out they said "oh yeah we don't have anyone at the front desk." WTF. Anyway, we are told to come back Wednesday and it'll all be done ready to sign. Whatever. We walk in Wednesday and some guy goes to the back to tell Diana we are here. Tell me why she gasps?! As if she's shocked that we are here for the appt she scheduled. She tells us "it's a mess back here just give me a minute to straighten up." Yeah ok. We wait 10 minutes before she brings us back, and guess what, it was still messy. Papers thrown across the floor near the shredder. "Cause corporate," or whatever. She says she did the federal but not the state yet. Yeah I bet she was frantically filling it out while "cleaning". After asking us random tax related questions that we are not expected to know since THIS ISNT OUR JOB, she started talking about how she's so experienced, and she's been doing this job for so long, and she's so good at her job. Then she says "ya know what, how bout you come back Monday and I'll have it all done ready to sign?" Heard that before. We agree just to leave. Next Monday rolls around. No call, no email, nothing updating us on the status. At this point we have no faith in her to get it done. So we don't waste our time driving down there to check. We call the office and miraculously someone answers. Guess what. SHE DIDNT DO THEM!!! She said she couldn't figure it out. Side note: we have very simple taxes. No crazy assets. No business. Just normal w-2. This place sucks. 0/10. And she had the audacity to try to charge us $230. After forgetting about us twice?? TLDR: just go to the one on base. She did it in less than an hour.

I brought the fact up and she said she wants her inexperienced tax preparars to do harder returns (Natalia has 4 yrs experiencece) management does easier ones. I sat down and told her I could not see to read the screen. She asked me if I was blind, deaf, or mute (answered no). Since I could not see the screen I only could listen and look at her. She asked me to sign an electronic pad. I asked her what I was signing. She said so that we could do everything electronically. I said I don't want my refund electronically processed, I would like to be issued a check. She crunched numbers and asked me a few questions. I told her everything for my taxes was right in front of her as there was nothing else for me to include. She asked me how I wanted my return. I told her in check form. She told me to sign again. And again. She told me she wasn't allowed to say the amount of my return out loud for security purposes so i had to lean and squint. Both for my Federal and State return I had squinted, leaned and read the number. Both times she told me I was correct. Before I signed each time I was not instructed to read any verbiage or that any legal agreement governed my return. However she did lean over and tell me to scroll down and where to click on the pad, all the while I was just trying to read the pad. I was given a packet that she had stuck in an envelope and was informed I would receive my check in a number of days. At night I looked at my return and to my suprise noticed a $53 and change charge for my Federal Return and $13.00 for my State Return. This was news to me. I called the office right away and they said they could not help me and would inform Michelle the next day. I then went directly to the office and the said they would inform Michelle the next day. Michelle called the next day and said there was NOTHING she could do. I called the office that day and asked for the district phone number. I called the office and told them this story as well. I knew I had just (3) days to cancel. I also knew i could change it and give them my bank acct/routing number information to avoid the check cutting fees. This was my plan of action. The next morning Michelle called and apparantly there WAS something they could do. I was informed that they would refund the fees and I would receive a check. Today I looked at a confirmation email and they refunded the tax preparar fees and not the check fees. I was ill-informed, lied to, and mis-led.

I have used H&R Block for my personal income tax for 20+ years and never had any problems. However…read morethey were recently discovered to have sold quite detailed client financial information that they gathered preparing taxes! You can't trust H&R Block with financial information. As a member of the Center for Internet Security and a stong supporter of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, this is an absolute show-stopper. I will *NEVER* use H&R Block again. I don't know what overpaid executive at H&R Block decided that selling this info to for a few extra bucks was a good idea, but it cost them my business - for life.
