Horrible experience . Was severely overcharge and taken advantage of. Charged $750 dollars for a lock change with a cheap lock that was not the right type of lock for a replacement.. I needed a copy of my one and only key and fob for a car I had purchased. The seller gave me a second uncut and unprogrammed key. He told me to take it to a locksmith or a dealership and see what they could do. The answer there was nothing. It was a slightly newer year so I would have to buy a new key, and have it and my old one sent somewhere and have it all cut and programmed. Somewhere in the ballpark of $350. I called another dealership and got almost the same story, for about $20 less. Ridiculous! I looked on line and bought the key for my car on Amazon for $18 and called Huber Locksmiths and they advised to contact Steve at A to Z Lock & Key. I did just that. If he's busy ("slammed"), Steve might be a bit gruff over the phone, but believe me he TRULY wants to help people! Once he's with you, you're his only focus. Locksmithing is a very skilled trade and like other skilled trades (electricians, plumbers), there's a shortage of people able to perform, especially with this kind of experience, such that guys like Steve are extremely busy, especially in the summertime near the Jersey Shore with the influx of people. My request was completely a non-emergency - making copies of a key fob. We recently bought a family vehicle with a single key fob and I knew it was only a matter of time before one of us lost or damaged it. Steve gave me a quote over the phone (very fair price), but said he had many other people that NEEDED him and to call back another day. Totally understandable. I simply kept trying for a few days until he could do it. New keys work perfectly and it turns out Steve is a very nice guy! He could've easily charged far more for his services, but his focus not on $$$, but rather on helping people as many people as he can. Friend bought a used car I made the initial call for her as she was stressed and confused. I lost my keyring which had my only car key on it. I had previously went to a nearby store that unfortunately didn't have the type of key I needed. I called the dealer to find out what it would cost to get a replacement.I was quoted a price then I asked the service person if I may be better off calling a locksmith after conveying something I thought may be an issue with getting the key copied. The serviceman said it probably would be better to call a locksmith .The quote I was given by the dealership didn't include the "Out the door" price..It was just labor at the very least $150. Not including key and the key code and extra labor etc. I called A Z LOCKSMITHS in Linwood. I spoke to the owner who was very nice and needless to say extremely helpful. He told some things that I wasn't aware of as far as cost at the dealership.I called the dealership back they then told me a whole different price..much more money! I then call back AZ LOCKSMITHS to make arrangements for his services. I can't tell you how helpful and courteous he was.He told me what I could do with an another key I had for the car that I thought no longer worked... It cost me nothing .He didn't have to tell me he could have made the house call and charged me $$.HE DIDN'T !!! Worst service ever. I called him and asked how much to program a transponder key for a 2012 rav 4. He responded saying 40 dollars each and I asked if he can discount the price if possible. His response " no sir have a good day" and he hung up the phone without even giving me a chance to respond. I tried to call him back and he was ignoring my phone calls. Called him from a different number and he picked up and I said hey it's the guy who talked to about Rav 4 I agree to 40 dollars and he's like my car is on fire, my house is on fire and my cat is on fire I won't be able to do it today. Really all within 5 minutes? If you ask me, this is a bunch of Excuses and worst customer service all over a price negotiation. Do not call or take any service from this guy! read more

I spoke with Steve from A to Z about getting someone to open a lock which our renter mistakenly locked the key inside. He said he didn't do residential but had a friend that did. While we were in Atlantic City, NJ on a Sandy Relief mission, we had to call AAA because we lost our only car key. AAA connected us with A 2 Z Lock & Key in Linwood, NJ and their man, Phil, responded immediately heading from Cape May to Atlantic City to help us out. About 1/2 hr. later, we found our key and, embarrassed for our mistake, we called Phil to tell him that he need not come. He was already at the exit for Atlantic City! We apologized and wanted to pay for his time, effort, and gas, but he said that it wasn't necessary, despite my protests to at least mail him a tip, he assured me that that wasn't necessary either. What a great guy and obviously a great company. It's nice to know that there are still caring people out there who give out of the kindness of their hearts, when things don't turn out as expected. read more

This business is a lifesaver!! I had parked at Bally's in Atlantic City and was preparing to lock my car and head out for a relaxing day at the beach, when I realized that my keys were nowhere to be found. After a few minutes of desperate searching, I realized that they were locked in my trunk. With a broken trunk release and no way to get my back seats down, I finally called AAA, and they contacted A To Z Lock & Key. Within 30 minutes, they met me at my car inside of the Bally's Parking garage. They had made a new key to get me into my trunk 5 minutes later. As a bonus, I was also shown that my inside trunk release was not broken, but that I lever had accidentally been flipped that disables the trunk release to prevent valets from using the inside trunk release. I was on the beach less than an hour after I originally arrived! A to Z Lock & Key was quick, friendly, and efficient. I hope that I do not have need of their services in the future; however, I would highly recommend them to anyone who does! read more
