I am very upset and disappointed in this tanning salon. I have been a regular customer off and on for many years. I have been there since new owners took over, but I was unaware my tanning visits could expire. That was never the case in previous years. I planned on tanning for my cruise vacation earlier this month only to find out my visits had expired. I had 6 or 8 visits left! They never sent an email or anything to tell me about their policy of expiration. I would never have wasted so much money and not gone. Had I known I would expire if I didn't go for one year as I was waiting for my vacation needless to say in all my years going there ,this has never happened and I will never ever go back there again. I think there should be an email sent or some kind of contact to let you know their policy. They wouldn't even work with me on it at all. read more

A Touch of sun is a clean environment with friendly service. A cozy place to relax for a tan. Prices are great as well.

I just went here for the first time today. I purchased a package of 2 Mystic Tan visits for $45. For those of you who don't know what Mystic Tan is I'll explain. It's a spray tan booth. I used it at other tanning salons before & I love the results. I'm very fair skinned & I don't want to use regular UV tanning beds because skin cancer runs in my family. This is a great safe alternative. Pretty reasonable price. Very neat & clean interior. The girl behind the counter was very knowledgable, friendly, & helpful. There had all the Califoratan sunless tanning products I wanted & offered lots of other products as well. They did take a finger print scan for my account information which I thought was really high tech, but weird. read more

Absoutely love them! Very clean, I recommend a high speed package ! BED #3 is my fav :) I'm 75% Irish and a very slow tanner but after 3-4 visits I get dark! So there is hope for us pale people lol! ALSO, The owner is very sweet & helpful! read more

Never a disapointment here! A Touch of the Sun is a fresh, clean respite for when you wanna get'cher tan on, and they offer a wide variety of beds, making it so worth the extra dollar! It's a comfortable environment and the employees have never been anything but sweet to me. It's a shame to see negative reviews written by fake profiles on here, (as indicated by the sole number of reviews on their profile, duh), because you won't find a better tanning salon in the area. This is a great tanning salon, with many options as far as tanning beds and packages go. The owner and staff are always VERY nice and so helpful! At Touch of Sun you'll never wonder if you're laying in an unsanitized bed (gross!) Everything is always immaculate which, in my opinion, is the most important factor in a tanning salon. The only negative is that visits and packages are a little pricey compared to other salons in the area. But, I guess when you weigh that against all the other positives Touch of Sun offers, it's worth the extra $$. read more

I've used both locations (Salem is now closed) and have never had a bad experience. All the employees, especially the owner, are so helpful and friendly. Not sure who the daughter is, but I have been waited on by a younger girl who has been nothing but very sweet to me. They've recently renovated and the place looks great and very clean. It's beautiful walking in the door, the bed I used was clean&comfortable and to make everything that much better, Effie was very welcoming and accommodating. A Touch of the Sun is the best tanning salon in the area hands down. This place is a little more expensive than others salons but its really worth the extra money. The owner is super nice and really knowledgeable. The salon has a large variety of beds and they are all very clean and nice. The bulbs are changed often in each bed thus providing the best possible tan for the money. Playing an extra couple of dollars is well worth it when you take into consideration the customer service, cleanliness and better tan this salon provides. read more

So I've been tanning at this place for a few weeks now and until tonight I would have rated it a lot higher. The girl behind the counter was SOOO rude. If you look up snob in the dictionary, you would find her picture there. I don't think she even knows what customer service means. She was more interested talking to her friends about what kind of hair extensions they should get than helping me. When my machine didn't work, she made me feel like an idiot. I just started tanning for the first time to get ready for a trip to Mexico. I'm very fair skinned so I was nervous that I was going to scorch myself! The owner, Effie, was very helpful and totally understood my concerns, even though it seems that people that tan a lot have trouble understanding the fears of us fair-skinned people. We decided on a brief 6 minutes. I thought the prices were fair. I had a set of coupons, and she let me pick which one would be the best deal, which was $5 a 6-pack, for a total of $22. The rooms for the beds are nice and clean, she provides towels and I personally observed her thoroughly cleaning the beds. I have also heard that they have a brand new location of Rt. 28 in Salem with all brand new beds (haven't been myself). I can understand why that bad review thought she was condescending, because she does call everyone "honey". But I think it's just her personality, she wants everyone to feel comfortable. Not sure what could have happened with the bed timing though...I would say give the place a try, because the prices are fair and Effie is really very nice and accommodating and the place is comfortable and clean. read more

I just went the other day to this tanning salon on Lowell st. in methuen. My second time there. The young lady who signed me up did not explain things well and apparently had to scan a fingerprint. As I'm explaining this to the receptionist the owner Stella had such a harsh attitude. Besides her horrible insulting manners I couldn't even get a bed for tanning. I am so upset because I paid for 6 visits and I am very uncomfortable going again. Many people I met and some I know have told me she is very rude. Do I recommend? No. they are other tanning salons with better service. read more

Went to the newest location in Salem NH. The beds are nice, but to me, service means everything. The woman who owns this place is by far the most RUDE and unprofessional woman I've ever given my money to. 1 month was more than enough my friend & I could take before we never stepped foot in that place again! Our 1st visit, we were both left in our seperate rooms to freeze & wait over 20 mins for a bed to start because she couldn't figure out the computer system/was busy gossiping to her friend. We asked if there was anything she could do (a free session, perhaps?) to make up for the fact & she REFUSED, never apologized, told us to "quit with the attitudes", told her friend IN FRONT OF US "girls are so hard to deal with" and mocked my friend in front of ME while she FINALLY was able to tan, calling her names.
