Even if this is not the closest auto shop to you, or near your neighborhood, this is the place to trust and feel well taken care of. I have to tell you what happened so you can understand how amazing these business owners are! I was driving with my 10y/o son north on the 17, in thick rush hour traffic, headed to Rock Springs. My truck quickly overheated, it notified me and the temp was all of a sudden at 255, then 259! I made my way over to the next exit, Indian School, while hurrying to call my husband so he could navigate me to somewhere that I could cool down and get help. He saw a gas station, then an auto shop not far off the interstate. I made it to the auto shop. My son and I walked in and were greeted by Laura. I explained what happened and asked if I was able to get what I needed. She said, "Let me get Rudy for you". We let the engine cool and ended up chatting with Laura the whole time. What a wonderful human! She was so warm and positive. She clicked with my son, she answered all of his questions and embraced his silliness. Our stress disappeared and we were enjoying our time! When my truck was cool enough, we all went out to investigate. Unfortunately, it was not just a coolant issue. Rudy saw the leaky hoses. He knew I shouldn't continue to drive north and risk a bigger problem happening on the hill. With the kiddo in tow, I took his advice. He put 50/50 coolant/water into my radiator, Laura hugged my son and I, and we drove home to Ahwatukee. I purchased this car with…read moreless than 100k on it and replaced all the fluids, filters, and did a tune-up..plugs, o2 sensor, wires. after a few years (5) of the car being mostly driven by my mother, my sister ended up with the car which now has 104,xxx. It wasn't driven too much and passed emissions flawlessly every year except this one. Since I wasn't able to work on the car myself my sister took it into Garcias for a diagnosis, which was $45. Instead of diagnosing the issue they held the car for a few hours and told her to try to replace the spark plugs and wires then bring it back for another diagnostic test, if that didn't fix it then try o2 sensor and maybe a catalytic converter..which I replaced less than 5k ago or about 2 years ago. My sister went to this shop to diagnose an emission fail complaint, not to have someone to try to throw parts at it, I could have done that. For the $45 diagnostic I expect to have the problem diagnosed. My sister was just given an invoice that states replace plugs and wires and return for another diagnostic......that's unacceptable. Shes paying a mechanic to pinpoint the issue. We will not return to Garcias, they seem to be just another sleazy mechanic shop.
