A1C movers- I had hired this company through U-Haul so thought they were legit-kept in touch with them about date and time confirmed 3 times morning of move. I was driving into Florida from Louisiana got a call on the way- after already confirming that morning for 1:30 Friday. Said they had another job pop up could we push it to 3:30 I said sure. Got another call on my drive in saying 2:30. Got a text at 2:55 that they were unloading and would be 4:30/5. 4:23 another text on the way. 5:15 they weren't here I had started unloading - I needed my stuff! I called the guy said would be around 6 I told him that wouldn't work I needed someone now- I needed someone that afternoon like had been scheduled. He said 6 is best he could do, I said the van will almost be unloaded by then. He replied you don't need to unload we will I said I need my stuff he said fine then we won't show up, I said I need you to show! He hung up on me wouldn't answer phone it was now after hours a and nobody at U-Haul helpers website would pick up call or answer text message. This company is awful- don't send them to anyone else!!! I need a full refund for the money I prepaid for this service. I have never in my life experienced such unprofessional behavior - -how can they sleep knowing they left someone totally without help after giving them the runaround all day - if they couldn't do it say it in the morning so I had time to find an alternative! I should've listened to the reviews before deciding to give this company a chance through U-Haul's partner program. You would think 3.5 weeks would be ample time to check a schedule and let us know if there are no movers for our move in date. Nope. 2 days before we move is when we receive notice that there are no movers. An absolute joke of a company. We used this mover about 5 years ago. We had an awesome experience with them. We decided to use them again last month. This time, HORRIBLE experience. They sent the slowest movers possible with the smallest truck they could find. Took four trips from old house to new house, when it could have all been done on one trip with a larger truck. We had them move 3 pieces of furniture and the rest boxes from a 3 bedroom house. My son actually spent over 2 hours helping them load the truck as to speed up the process. These guys kept taking breaks about every 30 mins for 15-20 mins each time. One mover even tried to get a job with someone we had working at our new house. That alone was an hour long conversation. We were paying them by the hour. The distance between houses is 8 miles. Took them over one hour between pick up and drop offs to travel 8 miles. Total bill was over $1500 for 12 hours to move approx 90 boxes and 3 small pieces of furniture. Not to mention ALL the free stuff we gave them because we didn't want to take with us. Those items alone totaled more than $1000 in free stuff for them. Reached out to the owner to renegotiate the fee, but never heard back from Scott. Total scam! I will never use them again and will most definitely tell anyone else not to use them. $1500 bucks for a move that should have taken no more than 6 hours with the help of my family too. Worst experience. After 2 other solid experiences. Movers themselves were great, management lied (and admitted it) about delivery and payment, was incredibly difficult to reach when things were not going well, and refused to make the situation right with me as the customer. Offered basically $100/off a $4500 bill for inconvenience after days of concerns being in answered and ignored. At one point I had to find one of their movers on Facebook just to try to get a hold of anyone as my calls, texts, and messages were ignored over 4 days - leaving me not knowing if my belongings were stolen or even coming. Owner neglected to follow up (even after calls and texts by me) after promising to readdress the situation after things were dealt with internally. Feel bad for the movers as the management puts them in horrible positions. Would not recommend this group at all. read more

My parents hired this company to pack and move them from Ocala to Phoenix, Arizona in May; the company was recommended by their realtor. Their belongings were supposed to arrive on July 1, however they received a call that the truck had broken down in Texas and would not be there until July 5. July 5 came and went with no word from the movers. The following week my parents were given a new arrival date, which also came and went. Phone calls to both the movers and the realtor who recommended them went unreturned for nearly 3 weeks. Finally, on July 20 the movers called and said they would be arriving on the morning of July 23. As we were returning to Phoenix in time for the morning arrival my mother was in contact with the owner about the price; seems to me that should have been established months before that. We were also in contact with the driver, who was supposed to have an assistant when he arrived. The driver arrived an hour late, with no assistant, driving a UHaul truck; when I questioned him about picking up the belongings in Texas from the broken truck he said he didn't know anything about Texas, but had loaded the truck from the warehouse in Ocala. Next the driver asked for $3000 cash before he started to bring in their belongings! Anytime I have used movers, they have notified me several days in advance that they will need a cashier's check for a specific amount, so this made me uneasy. I taped the exchange of money with my phone so that we had proof that my parents had paid him. Then things started to be brought into the apartment - smashed boxes, damaged furniture, and boxes with no packing materials around items. My parents had already paid these crooks $1400 to pack their belongings, and they did a terrible job. After about an hour a young lady showed up carrying things; when I asked who she was she said that the driver had hired her off the street to help him. It seems to me there are some liability issues with this? He also hired another person to help put the top of a breakfront onto the base. As the day seemed to be coming to a close, I pointed out to the driver that he still needed to put the bed, recliner and TV together. His response was that he didn't take them apart! I told him if he wanted to receive the tip my father offered him, he better put them together, so he did. My sister and I took photos of everything that was damaged and they are being submitted with the claims form. I have serious doubts that anything will be done, and we are considering hiring an attorney. Just one more thing. The driver referred to Graebel Van Lines, and it was stickers from that company that were on all of the boxes and furniture. I contacted Graebel and was informed that they have no association with A1 All Pro Movers of Ocala, and their legal department is looking into why they have photos of Graebel trucks on their website and are using their stickers. My advice is to stay clear of A1 All Pro Movers of Ocala! I am suspicious that realtors are receiving some sort of kick back for referring their clients, and the people that run this company are not reputable or honest. read more

Seems like the trend is to lie and take advantage of the customer for this company. Don't just take my word; read the other reviews too! We were told that our move would be the next day, from our house in Orlando to our house in the Florida Panhandle. This is why we did not buy the additional insurance coverage and we filled the entire moving truck, so no other customer stops would be made. We called about where our belongings were and they said that the truck was sitting in a fenced yard, while their drivers rested. They were late by two days and we had to get a hotel room to accommodate their arrival. The laborers were very careless with loading our furniture and there was quite a bit of damage to anything breakable. Thank God, we packed our own boxes before the move; at least that stuff was well packed and cushioned. We had to purchase additional custom frames for some of our furniture and my motorcycle, which they scratched down the length of the gas tank. They did not use any special packing/custom frames that were purchased. We paid over $4000 for this move and have yet to recieve the insurance check for my damaged belongings. The movers who handled the load onto the truck decided not to inventory any of our belongings because it was going to take them too long. The guy in charge sat in my house while the rest of the laborers did the work. They expected me to buy them lunch, which I did, but now I wish I hadn't. I sent in the damage list as requested within 60 days and I have been waiting for 9 months to get the insurance check that Brian told me was already with the insurance company a month ago. He also gave me the total which was calculated by weight (60 cents per pound). That was two months ago and I still have not received the check. No one answers their phone or returns emails. Their business card says they are "Marion County's Preferred Movers," which is a lie. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY; THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AND LIARS! read more

The story is so long ...My belongings were 11 days late...after many calls and emails I got through to Brian who told me he was packing my things up (WED) (this was on the last day of the window I was told my furniture be arriving) so the new arrival date Sat or Sun....I called and emailed several times again to find out arrival time and again got no response until Sunday...to find that my furniture was still in Ocala and not on a truck headed to me.....again emails and calls went unanswered until multiple had been sent...7 days later It arrived. I was told there was a transmission problem with their truck ...BIG LESSON** ASK HOW MANY VEHICLES THE COMPANY HAS AVAILABLE before you sign on the dotted line....And to A1 ....always answer your clients' emails and phone calls (empty your voicemail so your clients can reach you), it's just good business. read more

The most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with!!!! My fathers belongings were 14 days late! I had to rent a cot for my 82 year old father to sleep on for that time. Brian originally said that the truck broke down and he was not sure when it would get fixed. Our belongings were packed in a large truck and my fathers truck was supposed to be loaded on the large truck. When they picked up everything, his stuff was put on a truck and someone was going to drive his truck a short distance and get loaded on to the big truck. I called many times to see when my fathers stuff was going to arrive. I got a lot of excuses. When Brian finally arrived 14 days late by himself, he came with a small uhaul and my fathers truck on a carrier. That is not what I paid for. The truck was supposed to be inside a large truck. He called and said he could come Sunday but needed to hire someone in the area to help unload the truck. He couldn't find anyone for Sunday so he wanted to come Monday. We would not be available on Monday as we all work. So he came Sunday night alone and said we agreed to help him unload my fathers belongings. WE DID NOT!! So we had to unload all my fathers belongs with Brian. He wanted us to pay the full balance!! Really! We unloaded our own stuff. I am so tired of being a ripped off consumer and my mission is to share those who rip us off! Thus, A-1 All Professional Movers. I had used this company on three separate moves...yes, you would think I would learn something but I try to be fair and am loyal to a fault and fall victim to a good con. This guy will tell you he will arrive with three guys to do the move quickly to save you money, blah, blah, blah! The truth is he shows up in his flip flops, has a bad back and a myriad of other physical ailments and can hardly move himself but he has only one other guy to do your move. Wait, where are the other two? This last move was total disaster. He showed up typical fashion was in such a hurry was literally throwing my things onto the truck. This was after we had determined he could not take the furniture apart (let's refresh what is his company again) because on this huge semi he brought for a studio apartment he forgot to load the movers primary equipment "allyn wrench"! He did not bring the boxes or supplies I was promised all of my cds are missing because they were wrapped in a blanket, he set my bed up so quickly that he hammered in the screws and in the middle of the night I came crashing to the floor as the bed fell apart!!!! Let's not forget the dents, scratches, the mirror that is still waiting for him to show up with the right equipment to hook it on is on the floor....I never heard from him after they left except for him to harrass me about payment and when I asked for him to make good on the damages he threatened to suit me! I will never get anything out of this guy for my inconveniences and losses to my things that I work for hard for! When I had to walk over to my neighbor's house to borrow an allyn wrench was my first clue......unbelievable....pay more if you must it is worth it and do your homework above all else! I would not recommend this guy to anyone accept my ex husband! I have to admit, the guy who worked for him who probably took my things did work his butt off. I felt sorry for him!
