My son needed a cut and I didnt want to drive to his barber that he regularly goes to. I remembered there was a barbershop near me and decided to book an appointment. The process for booking an appointment online was easy, straightforward and simple. I booked with Barber Nelly Nell. Even when I had to reschedule my original appointment with him it was still simple and easy.. Availability for a sooner appointment, too. Really happy for that as a busy person/parent. My appointment was scheduled for 12:30pm, I was going to be a few minutes late and I let Nelly Nell know and he was understanding. Still took my son in. The appointment lasted a hour, which isn't our normal wait time with my son's regular barber, BUT it was SO worth the wait. He took his time with my son's cut, talked with him and was very intentional with how he fulfilled the service. My son got a hot towel on his face, his first time, and he liked it. When he stepped out the chair, he was satisfied and so was I. My son had minimal hair all over him, which he appreciated, and was really happy that his line up was clean and even. My younger brother goes to NellyNell also and everytime he gets serviced by him he loves it. The shop has a welcoming and chill vibe. It definitely gives barbershop I wasnt uncomfortable or anything. Space was clean, put together, professional (i observed other walk-ins and appointments be treated while waiting) and vibrant. No one had any customers when we walked in, maybe that should've been a sign, but we're new to the area so we're trying to find a good spot. This, however, isn't the one. My son showed a photo and wanted a mid to low taper fade, but received a very high taper with a very noticeable, uneven diagonal hair line going down towards his right eye across his forehead. My son was upset with it. Boookie did line up my son's barely there mustache which we didn't ask for, but it looks good if that's what we wanted. He also did my son's eyebrows, which we didn't ask for, but they look good. This location is also in a spot where there's only one way to turn in and it gets very congested on that part of Railroad. Not the best, but it's in a very centralized area with lots of traffic in that part of town. read more

Blotchy, not faded well, he went to his senior pictures like this. Can't be fixed without cutting too much, have to wait for it to grow out. The lineup on his forehead was not evened out either. His hairline is higher naturally on his right side, when lining it up, less should've been cut on the right to even it out to make it look straighter. read more

Unfortunately horrible experienced. Our barber was Nas. We had a cut for 2 booked. Somehow, those two haircuts were completed in 23 minutes TOTAL. How he did so much damage in such little time is beyond me. He completed butchered my sons hair. Somehow ruined locks of curls and turned into a mullet. To be honest, seems as if he was disinterested in cutting their hair. There was no time or effort put into these cuts. He just wanted us in and out. We were referred here by our previous barber due to a move from SF to Concord so our expectations were higher. Specially went with referral to avoid this. Really disappointed in the service and lack of respect for two young boys hair. My son now has to walk around with his hoodie on to avoid the embarrassment of his hair. read more
