I hired A1 to help with a gutter & fascia repair after a big storm caused some catastrophic damage to the gutters on the front of my house. (And by that, I mean, they had been fully torn off of the house!) Everyone I worked with, from estimate to payment, was friendly, helpful, and efficient. A1 Contracting came out, inspected the gutters and said they needed to be replaced. Not a surprise since there was a leak and a few waiting to happen. He gave me a verbal estimate because he was out of proposal forms and said he would email the proposal later that evening or the next day. 5 days later and have not heard a peep. Hence, contracted with another company and glad I did. They are so much more professional in every aspect of inspection, proposal and time. read more

We asked A1 Contracting to check our roof after the recent hailstorm and a spot appearing on our ceiling. Turns out the roof is fine for now, except for a bare spot at the Safety Hook on the roof. They completely replaced the roof on a major condominium building in Keystone (where we own a few units) and did some repair work on our personal home. We had a top-notch experience with Nathan Benninghoven and his company! He was referred to us by several neighbors who were equally pleased with their A-1 Contracting experience. We were very impressed with his work, and more important, his work ethic. We got hit by hail 2 times in one year, and each time Nathan took care of us. Nathan helped us navigate the confusing and frustrating world of insurance paperwork, and had a new roof installed in no time. He explained the whole process to us step by step, and we were very please with the work his team did, and even more pleased with his professionalism and follow-through. The second hail storm happened 2 weeks before the closing date to sell our house! We were so stressed, and he worked hard to get it done in a couple of days to make sure our closing would not be held up, and to make sure we had a new roof before the incoming snowstorm landed. (it all hit at the same time!) He showed up when promised, and kept us informed of any changes and updates as they quickly happened with insurance, permits, and the weather. Nathan was a great communicator, even while juggling his busy schedule. He went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure the sale of our house wasn't held up by the roof - he even offered to run down to his office after a long day's work (and he was already home) to type up a document that the mortgage lender was requesting. I provided Nate with my insurance information for approval for a new roof. Nate never got back to me regarding a quote that he said he would get to me. Several phone calls and text messages were ignored. I moved onto a more professional reputable roofing company other than A1 Contracting. I will never bother to call Nate again. read more

My roof was recently destroyed by hail, so I started calling around to get estimates to determine who I wanted to go with. I couldn't find anybody that would provide me with a quote because they wanted to work directly with my insurance agency to determine the maximum amount of money they could get from them. Nate from A-1 Contracting was the only person I could get to immediately provide me with a quote without seeing my insurance adjuster's quote. Nate also explained that he would work directly with my insurance agency on any discrepancies between A1's quote and the adjuster's quote, or I could work with them myself. While there was not a big discrepancy, I let Nate deal with the insurance company directly, which he did in a very fast and efficient manner. While many may not care if a roofer charges the insurance companies a ridiculous amount of money (another roofer was going to charge 8k - 10k more than A-1 because they knew they could), I do care because it effects all homeowner's premiums negatively. It is A1's honesty and integrity that made me select them. As for the work, Nate sent me information on colors and scheduled the roof to be replaced very quickly. They were able to replace the roof in one day, and other than a fantastic new roof and gutters, you could not even tell they had been there because they left the place in the same condition as when they arrived. All materials and debris were cleaned up and disposed of properly. I cannot say enough good things about A-1 Contracting and their staff, and I highly recommend using them. read more
