A1 driving was a great choice for us. I booked online and they called to schedule the appointments. My daughter had two different instructors who were both great. They showed her different things and helped her feel more comfortable. After her 3rd lesson, she received her certificate in a few short days. She passed her behind the wheel test on her first try!! Called and spoke with Jacky today (definitely not someone with a great attitude). I asked her about the promotion for the 6 hours for $329 package stated on their Yelp page and she stated that this wasn't true, that they haven't used Yelp in many years and that this promotion was never available. This is definitely misleading information, you should update your information if this is the case. You guys just lost a client. read more

Oscar and David helped my teenage daughter big time! The 3 lessons were more than enough. She passed in her first try and I couldn't believe it. They really know what they're doing. Don't hesitate to book them because you get what you pay for and they were definitely worth it. A big plus was their punctuality. Will be booking soon for my 15 year old son. read more

Just passed my driver's test at Montebello DMV today for my second attempt! Huge shoutout to Jim for teaching me everything I need to know for the DMV test. I had 5 lessons total with Jim and he helped me to get comfortable behind the wheel, follow the rules of the road, and reinforce what is expected for the DMV test. Every time I've had to speak to Jacky at the office, she's had a bad attitude speaking to me and I don't know what her problem is. I used to live in Whittier and when I moved to Hollywood and tried rescheduling my driving lesson, she just kept saying "we don't service that area" instead of just telling me from the beginning what areas they do service. One day I called while I was at work to reschedule my lesson and she asked me what my permit number was and I asked, "don't you have that information already? I've already taken a lesson with you guys." and she just ignored me and said "what's your permit number?" to which I said "I don't have it on me at the moment" and so she said to call her back when I do have it. I ended up calling back but spoke to a man instead and he didn't even ask me for my permit number and he was friendly and helped me reschedule. Then I called to request a change in my pickup and drop off location and Jacky answered the phone. I told her that I was supposed to get picked up from Pico Rivera but I want to change the pickup and drop off to Whittier. She said I'm supposed to get picked up from Pico Rivera which was what I literally just said and finally she changed it for me. Overall, I have enjoyed my lessons with Cindy, she's very attentive and patient. It's just a pain having to talk to Jacky on the phone and it makes me not want to deal with this business again just because of her. read more

This is the best driving school I've taken​ lessons with! The staff is wonderful and the instructors are awesome! My instructor, Joe, was amazing! Joe helped me with everything (parking, driving, lane changes, turning, etc.), and prepared me for my exam. I improved so much and became more confident in my driving after my lessons with him. I passed my​ exam the first time! And Jackie is so nice! She helped me schedule my lessons and worked with​ my work schedule. Great place. Jim, the driving instructor was awesome. The class portion was good, my daughter and I drove to the office to pick up her completion and take the writing test. She passed. Then she had Jim help her with driving skills. She passed the driving test with a 97. Highly recommend this place, one good price for class and for behind the wheel, both. They are very knowledgeable and the whole process was easy and drama free. read more

I enjoyed taking this course in my life. Especially because no one in my family had enough time to show me how to drive. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING THIS WITH JIM!!!! I had a driving lesson with him and I learned so much. I PASSED the behind the wheel at the dmv( first try).He told so many jokes, alerted me of what I needed to do, and was so supportive! He went through the steps of preparing for the dmv quickly to me, but I understood and was caught up. He was very friendly, funny, played some serious roles, and THE MOST amazing instructor, so please take him, you won't regret it. I have been practicing how to drive on my own and with my parents, i thought i was ready to take my behind the wheel test but i was NOT! I was a terrible driver according to the dmv. I decided to take lessons with A1 driving school and learned so much i would have never learned on my own or with my parents. They are great instructors, my first lesson was with Jim in spring break. He taught me so much and suggested i take one more class. I practiced throughout summer and took one more lesson with Kimberly. She taught me a lot of more things as well as sent me a reminder text before my behind the wheel exam on what i should do. They were both great instructors and i passed my test! I am now a licensed driver! This was super easy thanks to these instructors! They were far more helpful than my parents were ever going to be! read more

This has to be the best driving school in the area. It is very affordable and they have great communication with the driver constantly emailing the reminding them about the appointment. The driving instructor Chad is the trainer there he is very interactive and helps students with their weakness and improves your strenths. If it wasn't for Chad I probably wouldn't have passed my driving test he is a blessing in disguise and is very helpful I highly recommend A1 driving school. read more
