My daughter felt very comfortable with him and felt that he was very patient with her compared to her first instructor. He was very professional but made the lessons fun and would go over any questions she had right away. We both felt that he was very well trained and knew his stuff. Often Edwin was training other instructors while taking my daughter on her lessons. At the end of the 10 lessons my daughters felt very confident and passed her DMV behind the wheel test. I highly recommended AAA driving school and if your lucky enough to schedule your lesson with Edwin you will enjoy it. Edwin does books up very fast unfortunately so make sure you book your lesson way in advance after you receive your progress report.

By the time you finish one lesson ready to schedule another one, the open date is a month or more away. So basically you can schedule at the most 2 lessons at 1 hour within a 4-6 weeks period simply because the lack of available time slot plus they oversold their driving school.

I will give my honest review of this driving school. My son needs to take his test tomorrow, but he…read moreis completely discouraged by the instructor today. So here is the whole process. Over 6 months ago we went in to American Driving Academy. I met the instructor Xion. He quoted a price of $525 for 6 hours of behind the wheel driving and help with passing the initial written exam. The help passing the initial written exam was an old VHS video my son watched and to give my son the books and memorize the answers. Then Xion simply signed off on the paper my son needed to take the written exam. When my son passed the written (computer) portion, that was because my son studied for it. There was no real help. Next came the driving lessons, and I should have known based on the written test help how this was going to go. We started with 1 hour behind the wheel. We tried to set up a time, and Xion pushed back the time. We found this to be true for most meetings. My son went on the drive with Xion and after 45 minutes they were done. Now remember the goal was to drive for 60 minutes. When they came back my son said part of the driving experience was to pump Xion's gas at the gas station. Then Xion proceeded to say my son needs a lot of help, like an additional 6 hours for $500 more. I was like wait, hard to learn pumping gas. Anyways, I let that slide. The next 4 meetings were basically the same. They drive, and they stop somewhere. One time even going to Xion's house so he could get a drink. The whole time Xion telling me he has gotten better and is doing fine. Each time driving, the drive only lasted about 45-50 minutes. Finally we get to the last hour, the day before my son's driving test. I asked if Xion could just help him know the area for the DMV. Yea, Xion helped alright...he basically told my son he would fail the test the next day, but if his dad (me) paid him more he could show him the actual course and help him pass. Seriously, more money when you had my son pump gas, go to your house, and basically get shorted on the time. Look I see all the positive reviews, and maybe that is the case because the reviews came after the test was done and their kids passed the driving test. Maybe they had different instructors then my son. Whatever the case, I will not be sending my daughter to this "driving school". I put the quotations, because there is more asking for money then actual driving. I saw the run the errands post, and my guess is...same instructor. My son is completely discouraged now, and feels he is going to fail tomorrow. Its not the end of the world if he does fail, but my son based on today feels he will fail. If you are looking for someone to just go through the motions and sign some paperwork because your son or daughter can drive amazingly...then use this academy. But if they actually need help and advice, try somewhere else. My gut said not to go with this place, but we got a recommendation, so we did it. That was my bad for the choice. Again my honest review.

The great thing about Pacific Coast Driving Academy and George is that he can work with any level of driver and let you know what areas you need to work on to help strengthen your driving skills. He teaches in a way that makes his students feel comfortable, safe and confident. My son enjoyed his lessons and learned so much! And he passed his driving exam with few errors! As a mother to a new driver, safety is very important and he taught my son how to drive safely and defensively.
