He was ready to work extra hours to take care of my needs the same day. Luckily it was not an emergency, but he was there before noon the next day. $75 per hour ~ not sure how that compares with other handyperson services, but just keep that in mind. I should've planned better as some of the jobs I had for them to do, they couldn't do because I didn't have the right items (the correct furnace filter for my attic, actual size ladder they'd need for replacing second story exterior light bulbs, etc.). So, the jobs he could do, he did and did well!! The ladder he had wasn't the best for interior usage, crusty mud and dirt. He tried to clean it off before he brought it in which was really nice, but as I held the door I noticed it had clumps of dirt, now on my floor. No booties when he was inside. For some customers these may not be an issue at all, for others it is - so there you go. Also, if your job requires a lot of muscle, please let them know in advance as the super sweet guy, Bob, that was here had a really hard time with one task because he has a bad hip and some other health challenges. I was very happy with my recent service from A1. I needed a new garbage disposal put in and an electrical switch installed for it. James responded to my online inquiry right away and was informative about the cost and what to expect and was able to get someone out there within 2 days to come get this completed. Based on what was needed to be done, this had to be a 2 day project- both days, the tech, Mark, was on time, very friendly and efficient. After the 2nd day, I did have an issue where my dishwasher wasn't working right after he left. I emailed James to let him know and Mark called me within 5 mins of me sending the email and setup a time for the next day to come back to check out what was going on. The issue had nothing to do with the work on it the day before and was due to the part being old and needing to be replaced. He replaced this for me and only charged for the part. I insisted to pay more for his time/labor, but he said that he quoted me a certain price the other day and was sticking to this. This to me was very unexpected, but awesome to hear as I have had VERY different scenarios with other plumbing companies that i have used in the past. I will definitely be reaching out again soon for some other projects around the house. read more
