I've been doing botox for years and I have no shame admitting it to anyone. :) Since moving to…read moreVirginia, I've struggled with finding a new "Botox Master". The secret with great botox comes from the person holding that needle. Trust me, when you find your "Botox Master", you will be AMAZED at the results and you won't ever want anyone else doing your botox again. My search here in Virginia has led me to experience some bad results. Thus, I decided to find a place where the DOCTOR actually does the administering. This was harder than I thought! I finally found Dr. Guarda and made an appointment. The office was very beautiful and the entire staff were all wonderful, polite and very professional. Dr. Guarda spent a lot of time with me discussing my past botox experiences from what went wrong to what I loved. She is one of few, that believes in the conservative approach. She would rather inject less botox, wait for the results and then have you return if you need more rather than do too much, and have the client left with bad results for months. I loved this about her and agreed! I've have experienced droopy eyelid several times here in Virginia from estheticians doing too much botox, so I really prefer to do less botox up front and then tweak it later with more if needed. Dr. Guarda was never pushy and didn't try to sell me a bunch of products and or services irrelevant to the reason I was there. She just addressed my botox concerns and worked her magic. She did draw up the botox directly in front of me - which I highly recommend to anyone getting botox! You have a right to know you are getting the Botox you are paying for and not the cheaper form. There were no ice packs before/during/after treatment. However, her injections were gentle and I didn't experience any swelling, discomfort or bruising.

Chrissy is amazing! The team there is always friendly and knowledgeable. This is my 3rd visit and…read moreI have 2 more already scheduled.

I've never been one to include going to the hairdressers as "fun" or "enjoyable", but I have seen…read morethe light - and maybe that's because Carol is just the most incredible person ever who actually understands how to cut curly hair. She greeted me at the door and was very open with how the salon is ensuring customer safety with Covid precautions - everyone wears masks, everything is sanitized after every customer, right down to the pen you sign your receipt with. This made me feel super at ease to sit in the chair and relax; I had no worries throughout my time there. I'm used to paying $60-70 for a haircut and having to drive over an hour to my usual hairdresser (who is also an incredible curl cutter). I never get my hair shampooed before it's cut - a dry cut works best on my curls, so not only was I amazed that it was half the price of what I'm used to paying, I'm elated I can actually afford to come back every two months and keep up with getting rid of my split ends! You won't miss the salon once you turn into Cock & Bull lane and turn into the Triad Complex, Mane Event is the last shop in the corner and there's parking right outside the front door. So what I'm saying is, please just come and see Carol, she will look after you and ensure you are comfortable and leave the salon with a smile. 011/2020

I recently visited this practice after being referred by my rheumatologist to evaluate a possible…read moreautoimmune rash. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. The dermatologist Dr. Dehart did not perform any meaningful examination of my scalp or skin. Despite explaining twice that my rheumatologist needed dermatology to help rule out cutaneous lupus, the doctor repeatedly insisted that "lupus should have been diagnosed through bloodwork," which is medically inaccurate. Cutaneous lupus often requires visual evaluation or biopsy, not just labs. He did not part my hair, touch my scalp, or examine the area where my previous rash had been. I offered photos of the rash, and he glanced briefly and said he "couldn't tell," without offering follow up, options for monitoring, or guidance on what to do if it reappears. In addition, when I asked about hirsutism (excess facial hair), I was told there was "nothing that can be done," and that the medication had been discontinued, both statements that conflict with standard dermatological treatment options. He also incorrectly stated that insurance does not cover electrolysis, although my insurance (Tricare East) does in certain medical circumstances. Overall, I left the appointment with no examination, no plan of care, and no acknowledgment of my rheumatologist's request. This experience felt dismissive, rushed, and uninformed about dermatologic conditions on Black skin and textured hair. I will be seeking care elsewhere.
