We have had an inoperable panel for 2 months. Several calls later to their poor receptionist, no response from the company. I will figure out how much they have cost me from this one panel and send them a bill. If they refuse to pay, I will take them to court. I believe they are waiting to get rid of stock and go out of business, screwing all their warrantied customers. Would not buy from them now. read more

Wish we had never gotten solar. It is outrageously expensive, our system never covered our needs, and we still pay high electric bills. We checked on upgrading, and they said it was almost 20K... (20K more to upgrade for our 2000 sq ft home), not purchase. Customer service is decent during sales, but not after installation. I wish we had avoided and saved our hard-earned money. I am not going to say it is a rip-off, because that is strong language to use to accuse a company. However, we told them that we felt we were ripped off and disappointed, and that this was of zero interest to the company. They may be better suited for a large company solar system. As a homeowner, we spent so much money and strongly regret it. read more

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality I signed a contract with A1A back in early June for my Tesla Power Walls. After initially being told that they had them in stock (before I signed the contract). I will admit they stated it could take 6-8 weeks to schedule my installation. I was told after I signed the contract that there was a delay in shipping, and now the Power walls would not be ready until mid -August, then September, then October, now November. So, now I just want to cancel and move on, but I am told that if I cancel they will keep half of my deposit for "Administrative Expense". What crooks. read more

Whenever I have a question they've been quick to respond and very professional. I know there are a lot of other companies out there trying to sell solar. Look at A1A fSolar first. A1A Solar installed my system 3 years ago. Changed my internet modem and couldn't reconnect. Had an appointment for 12 days later. No problem. The day of the appointment there was a staffing issue. I understood because I have had those issues. Pushed my appointment 3 days later. Received a call the next day from the assignment supervisor, that he can send technicians to my house because of the weather. I said great and who am I expecting. He said Nick and Carlos. I said great that's who installed my system. They connected me in less than 20 minutes. They're a great team. Jason the IT tech, was great too. He tried to instruct me through the problem. Had my system installed in 2015 and have been very happy with solar power. Not so happy with A1A Solar. Most recently I had them back to remove the panels to reroof after a hail storm. When I was inquiring before I bought, I asked them about this scenario and I was told it would cost $1000-$1500 to remove and replace. When it came time 4 years later the price was $7000. After I had it done the system wasn't working right and I had to have them back. An independent electrician came out and said the . system was wired all wrong and redid it. After that it worked fine. Now that 6 years have past there are several alternatives to A1A and I would definitely look elsewhere. read more

*** Update*** So after talking with the owner (Pete). We were able to work out a better communication plan. They started to let me know where I was on the list and I could at least estimate when I would get my batteries. As of of today 1/27/2021 I have my batteries fully installed. And I couldn't be more happy about it. The 2 guys who installed my batteries were great. Both Robert Sligh and Warren Davis did a fantastic job. They were professional and completed the entire install in less than 2 days. After all this, I would say that I would definitely recommend using A1A Solar in the future. read more

Byer Beware They brag how good they are, take all your personal info Take your money have you sign a contract. After giving a low ball price. And then cancel contact because they cannot climb a two story house. They like to pick and choose. The easiest roof at the highest price is their motto. Would Not Recommend This Company To Anyone. Since posting the first review, I have gone into contract with A1A Solar. They are providing me with the system I wanted even though it is a new product and not stocked. Regardless, they went out of their way to meet my request which is just a sign of their customer service. Not every company out there will go with something they don't have, but A1A Solar did without blinking an eye. I can't wait for the install and it's reassuring to know they will do everything at this point from: Engineering, permitting, and my homeowners association. I had solar installed about 18 months ago by this company. The panels are performing very well this year so far I have been generating about 30 to 38 KWh on a good day. I really feel like I was undersold on what I really wanted this system to do. I feel like 6 more panels would have been better. Jim was my sales representative. He is very knowledgeable and had a great pitch. I only wish I bought at least 28 panels instead of the 22. The company is not huge you think the owner or owners would call and thank you for your business not one call. After they got their money not a word. My lowest bill was March of this year at $3.48 I was led to believe that I would have some credits during the spring months to help with some of the hotter months that has not happened that's why I wish I had more panels knowing what I know now. We will see what April's production has in store for me. I don't see a big credit coming though maybe an even bill where I owe nothing to the electric company. read more

A1A came out to give me a quote on a solar power system and there sales rep. Jim came out and at first it sounded like a good deal for a good system. Once they found out I was getting other quotes from different conpanies they instantly offered $1,000 less on my system. Thank god I stuck through and did my homework. I had two other companies come out with solid proof that the system A1A was going to install was way under sized and there warranty IS NOT what they say it is. They say it's 25 year warrant but it's not it's only 10 year warranty and u have to pay to ship the panels and sometimes any other extra costs even if you have the warranty. Also there sales rep. Jim did not leave me alone, called me over 9 times on top of multiple angry text messages ( yes I have proof if anyone wants to see) he even showed up at my house while I was with the ther solar company and tried to enter my back yard thank god I had my pitbull out there to stop him. This was a terrible experience and A1A should not even be in the solar power business. Pay the extra money for a real company I promise you won't regret it. The star rating for A1A Solar is bumped to 3 Stars, thanks to their installation crew, whom deserve 4 starts. They arrived on the day finally scheduled, and completed their work within the quoted two day window without incident. We checked the installation for roof leaks following the recent large amounts of rain here in Saint Augustine. Once the panels were up, the City of Saint Augustine Inspectors promptly came out, as did FPL, and we were up and running. We had to request just one minor "soft" programming change to identify the West and East panels appropriately within our online monitoring tool. Just waiting for the first FPL bill this month to see the positive effects. read more

HORRIBLE. Back and forth on the phone trying to speak with an agent (1 week), then made an appointment. They called an hour before the appointment to confirm and then never showed up or called. Called them again to see if something happened and if we could set up another appointment. Was told an agent would call me within 24 hours. Nothing. Called them back again and was told the same thing and the same thing happened. No idea what their work is like, but their customer serves is nonexistent and agents are useless. Would hate to see what would have happened and I did have them install a system and then I needed to get a hold of them if something went wrong. read more

After doing extensive research from Solar Laws to reviews on companies that install solar panels for residential homes, We learned that A1A Solar rated #1 in both categories. The salesman was awesome in providing detail information on from how the solar panels worked to the financing breakdown. After the paperwork was finalized, A1A Solar went to work on our roof. We had 22 solar panels installed. The Installers were friendly and very knowledgeable in giving us insight on how the installation process is performed and answered any questioned we had. The salesman and even the accounting department kept in touch with us to make sure everything from the install to the performance of the panels was to our satisfaction. Who could imagine going from a $200-$225 electric bill to ZERO?? We were very glad to have made the decision of choosing A1A to perform the installation. Just from the visual of our installation, many of our neighbors have decided to investigate the benefits of solar panels. So far, 3 more families in our neighborhood had panels installed on their homes by A1A Solar!.Thanks again! read more

MISLEAD AND FRUSTRATED!!! My family was looking into solar panels and found A1A. Our neighbors installed solar panels with them, so we inquired about the product and fell in love. We had been researching solar power for many years and finally decided to "bite the bullet" so to say. The installation was wonderful and the personnel were very friendly. However, when we decided to get the solar panels we needed to get a loan to help finance. OUR CANVASSING MANAGER said this would be no problem because the government had an incentive program that would pay off the loan with no interest for 12 months, one of the two loans we needed (one with interest over 12 years and one with no interest for 12 months) once taxes came out. THIS WAS A SHAM!!!!! While reading through our tax preparations, we only get 1/3 the amount needed THIS YEAR, and receive the rest the following year. This was NOT how the product was promoted by our canvassing manager. They calculated the total we would get based on the total 30% incentive program, which still exists, but FAILED MISERABLY TO MENTION, "oh by the way, even though I am saying you will receive the entire 30% incentive at one time when you file your taxes this year, that is not the case. You only get 1/3 this year and the rest next year." So now, we were expecting to get a check from the government as our incentive for the total price of the loan, but only get 1/3. Very frustrated and upset about the CALCULATIONS, MISREPRESENTATION AND OUTRIGHT LIE which now sticks us with paying for most of a loan we were told would be covered by the incentive, now with interest. The fact we have to pay the loan isn't the problem, our issue is the loan has been building interest since we received it and we didn't pay because we were told the incentive would cover the cost and we could pay it back INTEREST FREE before the 12 months was up! But now, with only 1/3 of the total 30% coming to us, we now get stuck with the bill AND interest. read more

We bought into this system in May of 2015. The original inverter was a Sun Edison (this company is now out of business). We had nothing but problems with the Sun Edison inverter. Finally in early 2016, it was agreed to put in a new inverter by a company called Solar Edge. This inverter worked perfectly for over 3 years...until early April 2019. It stopped. With a 12 year warrantee, allegedly we have had a brand spankin' new inverter put in. HOWEVER, in the process, they found a part that was left over from the first system that they have called us a week later to tell us they have to remove or charge us more money to keep. What!?! What are they going to do with a used 3 year part they did not even know was in there in the first place? I am sure they won't reuse it...or would they? Is it really worth their time and effort to retrieve this part? SO, once again, I am spending my lunch hour waiting for A1A Solar to correct a 3 year error. In addition, the ROI is not that great. Think long and hard before going solar. Nothing but a PITA. read more

I have been very unhappy with AIA Solar Contracting. The installation of 50 solar panels at my home was a nightmare, mostly blamed on the "salesman" and took over 6 months. Internal communications within the company at times were nil, making me believe that the company has grown too fast and that systems are not in place for divisions of the company to effectively communicate with each other. I was encouraged to finance with them and told the energy savings would amortize the cost of the project over about 15 years. The energy "savings" which I have seen over the last 8 months have fallen far short of the projections and way short of my electric bill. They don't even come close to paying the interest on the loan. Now everyone in the company says "I'm sorry. Your salesman is no longer with us." This has been a very expensive and disappointing mistake. Another reviewer said their 22 solar panels were producing savings of $200-225 a month. I wish my experience matched theirs. My 50 solar panels have generated between $60 and $150 a month in energy savings. That is not what was represented to me. If I knew THEN what I know NOW, I would have made a very different choice. read more
