I especially love their breastfeeding room where they have a breastfeeding group that meets regularly. Everyone who works there is incredibly helpful, especially Beth. I was concerned about post partum depression, and she took me aside and helped me with finding resources. She spent a lot of time one on one with me so I could talk about my concerns. One cool thing is that Beth helped formulate a holistic remedy just for me. It helps calm me if I am feeling panicky. Whether it is a placebo or not, all I know is that it works!

I decided…read moreon a home birth midway through my pregnancy with my husband's support, but made the decision only a few weeks before my due date to hire a doula. I was so blessed to have Aris as my doula and part of my birthing team. Knowing she is an experienced labor & delivery nurse gave me even more reassurance of her expertise and the kind of support she could give that others could not. I had a beautiful birth story and it wouldn't be the same story without Aris. Aris was there for me every step of the labor, which was long and not progressing. I was worried and struggling through contractions but Aris has a calming presence about her; she guided me through positioning, exercises and at times just speaking positive affirmations that gave me peace in tough moments. I remember at one point after several hours of laboring, I stood up and my water broke. It was A LOT of fluid! I felt like i was standing in a small pool! But Aris was right there with me, holding me up while talking me through a painful contraction. I progressed quickly after that (pain was level 10) but my midwife had not arrived. Aris kept me calm and focused, and got me in the birth pool. When the midwife finally arrived, she and Aris moved quickly because my little girl was born moments later. It was a beautiful precipitous birth and I cant thank Aris enough for helping make it the experience that it was. She even managed to capture some photos of the birth for us that I am so grateful to have. I didn't realize how different the support and advocacy a doula contributes to the birth experience. And having Aris there was the calm during my birthing storm and I cannot recommend her enough! If you're on the fence, don't hesitate - Call the Doula!

While doula services…read moreseem a bit pricy at first glance, I can attest that for all the hours put into the two prenatal birth prep classes, attending the entire labor and delivery at the hospital, postpartum visits, and 24-7 availability for questions and consultations before, during, and after delivery- the hourly rate is very reasonable and they are worth every penny and more. I felt very prepared heading into labor, and Toni was a complete godsend to have in the L&D room with my husband and I. She helped make me more comfortable, was full of great tips on how to progress labor and navigate the discomfort. She also was invaluable at helping us navigate various decisions and turning points as my labor unfolded. I had a wonderful birth experience with her. And after delivery, Anna and Toni continued to go above and beyond, helping us troubleshoot breastfeeding issues, showing us how to bathe our newborn, and Anna even gifted me a few handmade herbal sitz bath sachets that were wonderful.

Obviously in the past it was for normal female wellness appointments, to get birth control, etc. She is very kind, understanding and knowledgeable. I opted to get an IUD about 6 years ago instead of continuing birth control pills (I never can remember to take those things, lol). And while I was warned it would hurt like no pain I had ever felt, I was totally unprepared for the firey hot poked that my cervix dilating feels like. An MA had to come in just to hold my hand. Recently, my husband and I have been seeing her for OB appointments (yay!), but we have had to go through the less than thrilling process of having a miscarriage in the beginning of the second trimester. It is not a fun process by any means, but Dr. H and her staff have made me feel welcome to call with any questions or concerns, and have been calling to double check on me, because it really is a crappy situation. They were very kind and thoughtful when they had to tell us, and have made sure to give us all the information they can about our situation. I know they're have our best interests at heart and are not happy when they have to deliver news like that. tl;dr Dr. H is wonderful and very kind, even when she has to give you bad news. I've never felt uncomfortable or unwelcome here, and always felt like I could call with any questions, good or bad.

I knew it was important to get my pelvis properly aligned before I went into labor because improper alignment can intensify the pain and duration of childbirth. Dr. Beals-Becker is a doctor of osteopathy. She is seriously amazing. I would highly suggest seeing her instead of seeing certain chiropractors because she is an expert, especially if you are pregnant. I made the mistake of seeing a chiropractor, and he made me feel worse. I consulted Dr. Beals-Becker in a panic and she was extremely accomodating and was willing to squeeze me in the same day! I felt so stupid for not calling her in the first place. She is able to give excellent advice and does not make you come for repeat visits if it is not necessary. I am someone who can be very weary of doctors, but I have much respect for her and her practice -- that says a lot, especially since I trusted her when I was 8.5 months pregnant!
