I walked into this place on my last day of my trip to New Orleans to have the sides of my mohawk cleaned up before my trip home. I have Mohawk braids and the sides are already shaved. I got here a week ago and I had the sides shaved the day I left so there was only one week of growth. I do not have anything special done, just the sides shaved down to a zero (0). No fade. Nothing. Granted, I did not ask ahead of time what the cost would be, but I did a quick search on their website and I saw a similar cut to mine on a girl with braids down the center and a fade priced at $35. There was no patrons in the shop, and two barbers. The a gentleman who took me was quick and efficient. And at the end when I asked them what I owed him he asked me if I was paying cash or card. I have noticed here that when you pay with a card, there is usually an up-charge so I told him I would pay cash. And then he charged me $40! Where I come from on the West Coast, what I'm having done is considered a cleanup cut. Cleanups like these cost $15-$20. At most I was thinking I would be charged around 30 since they were charging $35 for a fade (which I was not getting and is a lot more work). To be charged $40 for the cash price seemed to be price gouging...maybe because they assumed I didn't know or didn't ask. Also going back and studying their website a bit more. Their regular, full haircuts start at $40 and that is definitely not what I got. Because I was the only girl in the shop and I'm non-confrontational, I was too nervous (and frankly too taken aback) to start anything. I was even hesitant in writing this review, but because there was more than one barber there, and the other one didn't speak up or say anything kind of tells me that maybe this is a practice of the shop and makes me want to warn others that might be thinking of going there. This might be a tourist thing and not a local thing as well. And I understand that pricing is going to be different here than it is on the West Coast, but being from the West Coast, things are really expensive there so being charged $40 for a 10 minute cleanup seems a little fishy. Do with this info as you will. There's not much I can say about the cut itself since there's nothing special about it. Honestly, I wish I could do it myself except I can't see the back and I don't want to risk cutting into my braids. In other news, I love y'all's city! read more

My first time going there was great, me second time (31/03/26) he asked me to leave because he doesn't "trust me" just because I work in the nail shop across from his and assume that I was there on my phone to call "State Board". Clearly explained what I wanted, showed two pictures. The haircut was OK, but he was super heavy-handed and went very tight, It should've been my warning for the beard, but I let him do his thing. I told him to fade the beard and clean it up, but leave length on the chin ...I needed it shaped up. He did the opposite and hit it. super hard and cut over half my beard off. After I showed him the pictures again, same thing I bring to show him. He said he could do, he started making excuses and telling me that my hair is different than the pictures I showed him and it's not possible to do that. Never again. read more

This is a pleasant barbershop, in a convenient location. Unfortunately, it was probably one of the worst haircuts of my entire life. I just wanted a bit of a trim, and I provided specific instructions related to length, and asked not to use clippers, to use scissors instead (their menu of services includes scissor cuts). The barber nodded his head, and showed me what the length would be, and it looked appropriate. He seemed instantly to forget what we had talked about, and within seconds of agreeing what to do, he had grabbed the clippers and lobbed off a swath of my hair down to my scalp. What can I do at that point? When he started trimming the top, where we had agreed previously on the length, he seemed to be doing exactly what I had asked, and then, for no reason I can fathom, he cut straight across leaving maybe an inch of length across a third of my head. I really don't understand how this happened. I'm completely at a loss. My wife gave me better haircuts during COVID. Very disappointed. read more

Hands down the worst haircut I've ever had. I went in for a mid-fade with the clear instruction of "nothing on the top". What should've been a quick 30-40 minute cut ended up turning into a near 90 minute experience, where he gave me a lineup on the front which I didn't ask for, botched the sides leaving them terribly uneven, and on top of that sprayed me in the eyes and mouth with aftershave without telling me he was about to do it. So after being violated in a chair for an hour and a half, he finally held up the mirror to show me but couldn't understand that I wasn't able to see the reflection by the way he was holding it, so bro was clearly just going through the motions and thought everything looked fine, which his coworker was even able to point out that it obviously didnt. And upon closer inspection, you can clearly see the line where the fade was supposed to start on one side, and the other side was SUPER patchy and uneven all around.. Overall not a good experience, and made even worse that he took his sweet time forcing me to sit there while my hair was being destroyed. Im getting a buzz cut to undo the damage, but will have to wait until my hairline grows back. Treat here with caution. read more

I am a woman who did a big chop at home and I came into the shop to have my hair shaped and cut. I explained to the barber that I wasn't sure what length I wanted my hair and he said that was okay and that he could take it down slowly. But when he began cutting my hair it was another story, he became frustrated when I didn't know the length I wanted and I ended up with a terrible hair cut that my friend had to even out because it was uneven and had areas where there were just chunks/holes. If you know exactly what and have had your hair short for a long time I could see this place being good but if you want someone with patience this is not the place to go at all, would not recommend. read more
