I like my hair short and layered, so I was tempted to try this place out even though it seemed like men's barber. The other female reviews led me to try it out and they were not wrong! Adikus did everything a fancy salon would in terms of cutting. They just don't have a fancy set up or do the fancy wash and blow out. I'm not a fan of all that stuff, and I don't like to use products, so it worked for me! My hair looks great and even though it was quick, I felt like I was treated with care and diligence. I was recently in New Orleans, and dealing with that Southern heat. Looking for haircut in the area we were staying was easy, and the owners Adikus and Trent were two top notch guys. I called the business, and followed the instructions to text Adikus for immediate help. He had just left for the day, but told me to stop in to visit Trent for a haircut. Trent told me the wait was 20 minutes, and that gave me time to enjoy a cold brew coffee next door. I told him I was growing my haircut, but that shorter hair would help me cope with the humid heat in the area. He instead talked me into taking some hair off the sides, and came through with a stylish haircut in a short amount of time. At $15 for the cut, the price was not comparable to the great haircut. Trent is very cool, he provided great conversation and advice on where to get some crawfish by the pound. Now, I'm not sure why they passed up on the name "Two Bears Cutting Hairs" but they give a professional cut at a super reasonable price. I can't vouch for how well they handle longer hair, but if you want a short cut they do it up proper- they even bust out the straight edge for a final, wispy touch. Trent is the man if you're looking for a good, professional, courteous, and affordable hair cutting experience. I always went to him when he worked for another salon, and when he opened his own location, I found out where he was and had to go by and see it. And it was well worth it. Located on the first floor of the Healing Center, it's the perfect location for anyone looking to follow Trent or just become a new follower. The building has a lot to offer and I got some organic snacks in the grocery on my way out. Also, I live in the LGD and work in Metairie, so it was great to avoid traffic after work and drive down 610 instead of I10 east. I got there, caught up with Trent for a moment, got my SUPERB haircut as usual (Trent gives the best men's haircut I've ever had), AND it was less expensive than Supercuts. Plus, the Marigny is such an awesome neighborhood to hang out in afterwards, it's impossible not to want to go. Since moving to the city my husband and I have been on the look out for a good barber. I quickly turned to Yelp and found this place, with five stars how could I ignore it. We had a little trouble finding it because there wasn't a sign but it's in this larger orange building called "The Healing Center", I believe. We walked in and its located on the far left. My husband sat down and showed him what he wanted. I ran to the restroom and by the time I got back he was almost done! Trent was very nice and personable and did an absolutely amazing job on my husbands hair. He even walked out smiling and raving about what a great job Trent did and how fast and sufficient he was.
