Follow up after Matt's comments: 1) Yes, everything looked great BEFORE the tape was removed, and also the small spot was noticed later. A service provider should be responsive after a job is completed, and being unwilling to come back and fix--let alone to return my call or our email asking for a reduction in fee--is terrible customer service. I never even spoke with Matt, because he didn't call me back. What professional behaves that way? 2) We have no reason to be untruthful, and in fact were entirely so. There were no issues with the entire rest of the tape removal process, just the spot where the tub was not properly prepared. Matt is falling back on his 24 hour rule as an excuse to ignore us. I wrote in my review that my husband proceeded before this time limit was up, by a few hours. This was a mistake, but not because it caused the issue, but because it gave Matt what he believes is an excuse to be unresponsive to us. We have the piece of caulk, which caused this issue and is the exact shape of the place where the problem is, as proof--it should have been removed prior to the refinishing. Also, the second problem area has nothing to do with the tape removal process, and he has not addressed this at all. read more

I waited a few weeks before I left this review because I wanted to make sure that the finish had time to cure/bake and to see if any signs of wear or degradation appeared. First of all, I was very happy with the responsiveness of AAA Bathtub Refinishing. Matt was prompt to reply with answers to my questions and with a quote for the request. The order form was helpful and the website was a great resource for us to prepare ourselves for the work to be done. It did not take long to schedule the service and the work was done in a quick turnaround with promised results. Matt and his helper were clean and organized and communicated with me during the process. The only thing that I wish I was more prepared for was the fumes from the application of the compound used to coat the tub and surround. I was aware that the tub would be out of commission for 24 hours, but the fumes made a portion of our house unusable for about 12 hours after the service. Be prepared for that! The quality of the coating is remarkable and AAA's attention to detail is outstanding. There were a few minor imperfections from the coating process but that is to be expected with an older tub and surround like mine. I wish that we would have done this service years earlier! I followed all the instructions related to care after the coating was applied, drying the tub after each use, not leaving anything sitting on the tub surface, not dropping anything in the tub, etc. I am very happy with the results and I would recommend this contractor to anyone considering getting their tub coated. Matt did a great job refinishing our old cast iron tub. The refinish job looks great, and he took the time to explain exactly what prep work needed to be done before hand and exactly what we could expect from it, and responded promptly to calls/text after the work was complete to answer further questions I had. He also did a great job taping off the rest of the bathroom to protect the tile, and managed to do all this while working in a VERY small bathroom that provided plenty of obstacles to work around. We did not have to have him back out to fix anything, so I can't comment on that aspect of things, but all in all am very happy with the work and the cost--would definitely hire again. read more

I contacted this business via text, per their direction, to come out for an estimate. He asked me to send photos of my tub and surround. He asked if it had been refinished, previously; I told him no, and that I wanted it white before I had glass sliding doors installed. He asked me what area I lived. He replies "Oh bummer. Sorry, I do not go that far into Beaverton. Traffic!" This guys sounds so unprofessional, regardless of his reviews. He should've asked me upfront what area I'm in before wasting my time. Apparently, my job was not large enough for him. I have someone coming out tomorrow from Renew-It, via referral. read more
