Sam's Hardwood did a horrible job refinishing my existing and installation of new hardwood. It was full of construction defects. I had to go through Contractors Board and also sued them in court. I did win the lawsuit. They did not honor their warranty and refused to fix it. read more

We had both a need for refinishing badly cared for flooring and to blend in new hardwood to replace carpeting. Sam's did a wonderful job on both. They we able to make the joins seamless to the old wood. The overall finish was uniform. The crew was great to work with and they were very conscientious to maintain schedule, even with equipment breakdowns and other issue that cropped up. On the backend, Sam and Danielle were great to work with, very prompt and easy to work with. Since they have a local supplier for wood, they are a lot more responsive in this current climate. I truly cannot say enough good things about Sam's Hardwood Floors. We had a leak under our house that damaged a large part of our living room floors and Sam's Hardwood Floors came in and did an incredible job repairing the damage and refinishing the wood floors in almost our entire house. We had our floors repaired previously by a different contractor a few years ago due to another water incident (water hates us) and while the work was OK after about 30 days the finish developed a dull haze. The contractor (I won't say his name here, but he is well known) of course said the finish was fine and we should clean our floors better... whatever. Needless to say it never went away and looked like garbage, it wasn't the workmanship it was the product. In the beginning of this current repair we had two other companies look at the floors and they left us uninspired. However, after Calling Sam's I knew by the end of the phone conversation with Daniel that Sam's was the place. During the estimate they confirmed our concerns about the existing finish and that it was indeed not just in our heads. They really went above and beyond: from the flexible scheduling during the holiday season and the answering of my myriad of questions to the great concern that Sam and Daniel took to ensure that we were 100% informed and happy with our choices. When it came time to do the work I had no doubt that the floors were in good hands. Sam's crew was extremely professional and just a great group of guys that also do outstanding work. The floors turned out beyond expectations, and we finally have floors that look amazing, like they are supposed to. Going on five months later they still look as good as the day they finished them, even with our two crazy dogs. Additionally Sam and Danielle provided us a list of highly rated contractors that they have worked with to help with any other projects you might need. We chose to use Sisu Painting to paint all the trim, doors and casing and ceilings after the floors were done. Sam's Hardwood Floors are the best money can buy, seriously. Not only are they responsive and communicate well, they do amazing work. My husband and I have a house that was built in 1975, back when sunken living rooms where a thing. Unfortunately, today sunken living rooms are no longer a thing and our living room was not fashionable, but a tripping hazard. After having one too many people stumble into our living room we decided to have the floor raised. We contacted Sam's HWF to get a bid from them and Danielle got back to us right away. Sam came out within a few days and quoted us a very reasonable price point compared to our other bids. He was also very personable which made it an easy choice. We hired them to raise the living room as well as refinish the rest of our hardwood floors. Before they started the job, my husband and I decided that since we were already having work on the living room that we wanted to also have our carpeted stairs redone to hardwood. Sam was happy to come out and give us another quote. We ended up giving him the go and he added that to his list of work for us. We were home while Sam was doing all the work and it was not distributive at all to have him working in the house. He was very respectful and informed us of what he was planning to do for the day and we tried to stay out of his hair while he worked. We love our new floors and loved the experience of working with Sam and Danielle. I am home most days with several small children and I was worried refinishing our wood floors would be a huge hassle, but Sam was so easy to work around and we felt very comfortable having him in our home. Sam refinished our Austrailian Cypress wood floor and repaired about 20 loose floorboards for us. The result was fantastic. It looks like we got brand new flooring. And all our squeaks are gone.
