Been a member for 3 years, I have 3 cars insured and of course the AAA service. Had a chance to use the service recently. I needed a two truck for my jeep. The tow arrived quickly and the operator was polite, only problem is that she damaged my jeep when trying to get intyo neutral. The transmission was seized up. She also set the handbrake so hard the shop could not release it. The damage to the jeep was close to $1,000.00!! I submitted the damage claim form and they denied the claim without talking to the shop, me or the tow trcuk driver!! Some investigation!! I appealed the decision which I new was a joke. Two days later appeal denied?? Ok so small claims clourt here we come. Let me take more time out of my day to fight a service that I thought would be there. You l;;ost my business, I will go elsewhere for my insurance. Thanks for costing me well over $1,000.00 / time and aggravation. Good bye. read more

I arrived at the Clifton Heights location, the parking lot was pretty full. I found a space in the back and quickly went inside. I immediately was helped in the reception area. Mr Jason Blunt came and got me. He escorted me to his desk. I explained to him the ordeal with my handicap plate that I never received. He was very empathetic and promised to resolve the issue. He issued a replacement license plate on the spot. He was funny, professional and very efficient. I will definitely return and ask for Mr Jason Blunt. read more

I love this place they have everything! Maintenance service for your car, auto registration, travel, etc. Jim was amazing, but the reality is the entire staff is friendly and efficient. I was due for an oil change but right before my appointment my check engine light came on my 2020 Kia with barely 14 k miles. So Jim was nice enough to say they'd check and if under warranty I can pay Kia a visit. Turns out I had a rodent living in my engine under the cover and chewed some wires. Needless to say not under warranty but they took care of me which I greatly appreciated. I love coming her because the service is above and beyond! read more

So I made an appointment for today 5/28/25 at 5pm to get an oil change. I get there and a gentleman at the front desk said oh I called you this morning to cancel your appointment. We don't have anyone here to do the oil change And we close at 5:30. I then asked why did it let me schedule the appointment then? He said he doesn't know why it let me.. there is a problem with the online scheduling he said.. he did reschedule me but this is so inconvenient. Bought 4 new tires in October 2023 and was promised a $50 rebate. I sent all required materials to the General Tire Rebate site within the required timeframe. When I went back to the store because I never received my $50, I was told that the sales person made a mistake and the tires I bought were not eligible for a rebate! read more

Very disappointed! As a member, I took my car here for inspection was told that my car needed $1200 of work on breaks to pass. I'm glad I took my car somewhere else. I saved myself $800. My brakes were passable and will likely need by next inspection. Shame on them for trying to take advantage of a woman. read more

This is a review for the mini DMV inside the AAA, though, every AAA employee I encountered was nice, friendly and helpful, which was great because I was very lost in there lol. The little DMV in the back is a lifesaver and as long as you have all your documents and affairs in order, you'll be in and out in less than 20 minutes. The staff was friendly and helpful and answered all my questions. I went at 4pm on a Friday afternoon and was expecting the WORST! I pulled a number and waited, my number was called in a about 10 minutes, the license employee verified all my info, we took a new picture. I filled out some digital forms and was told to wait for the license to print. Less than 5 minutes later I had a brand new drivers license and I was out of there. read more

AAA member: Made an appointment for 1:20 to get fingerprinted with IdentoGo. Arrived at 1:12, didn't get seen until 1:50. When I mentioned I had an appointment at 1:20 and asked if it would be much longer, they said one person was ahead of me. It took less than 10 minutes for me to get fingerprinted. So not sure how the "one person ahead of me" took 30 minutes. Not exactly a warm welcoming crew when you walk in. Muffled generic responses and slow processes. My observation was 5 customers in the place to about 8 visible employees. I may just as well go to the DMV next, would probably be quicker. read more

Stopped in a few times to this big beautiful new location (well a few years old by now). It's huge and now they service your car. I've gotten discounted Disney tickets from here although I think Disney stopped it. I pick up tour books which are great for road trips. Everyone here is friendly and helpful. This new AAA Club opened up in Clifton Heights/Morton PA area to serve the sprawling Southwest Philadelphia suburban area, and the large new locale replaces the small and cramped one in Springfield. It is located on the entire footprint of a former auto dealer, so the place is huuuuuuge. Plenty of space for all AAA activities: insurance, auto services, tags, licenses, a small store, and a large customer service area. The icing on the cake is that AAA wil be able to perform Pennsylvania vehicle inspections soon, perhaps as early as January 2012. Which means a one-stop shopping for members without to brave the crowds and the Soviet-style lines at the Motor Vehicles offices. I love it! Their store has a large selection of travel and safety items as well as a large collection of maps and trip ticks. And for 24-hour service, they have vending machines with maps and travel books for members. An awesome place!!! read more

No one like dealing with the DMV, but I thought being a member of AAA would make it easier. WRONG! The state of Pennsylvania does not require PA residents, registering their vehicle in PA, to fill out a Form MV-41, AAA does. Currently, my RV is stored in Delaware. I have to: 1. Bring it to them, or 2. Pay to have a mechanic certify the VIN, or 3. "Sketch" the VIN onto a piece of paper. PA DOES NOT REQUIRE THIS! All AAA is doing is making registration MORE difficult than it already is, and driving customers away from AAA. Good riddance! read more

Minus one star because 80% of the time when you arrive on time for your appointment you are told the person doing you car is not back from lunch or "running late". They never call to inform you which would save me time. Happened 4 of 5x in 2014 including today Nov 12 when they told me my 1pm Appt time is moved to 130 PM. If you are OK with this and for good service you should try to be... With that said : Very good service. Nice waiting room. Free Coffee. TV and a computer at which I write this review. Clean restrooms. Unlike most car service places. The front desk staff remember your name. So much so I think the next time in I should bring donuts :-) Added Bonus: you can get your travel stuff at the attached store and even renew your photo drivers license here. And for the mobile and adventurous there are some fast food places on this side and a couple across Baltimore Pike. One of the worst experiences I've ever had. Had a flat tire, so as an AAA member I decided to use them because of the "discount". Tow truck dropped my car off at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, very cool driver allowed me to ride with him so I avoided the Uber expense. Shop guy tells me my tire is rare but he got one and my car will be ready between 10:30 & 2:30 Wednesday. I figured ok I'll deal what's 1 day with no car. Wake up Wednesday try calling and " they're too busy to take calls". So at 2:15 I Uber there thinking that they should be done by the time I get there. Not the case. Long story short they messed up my wheel and tried to charge me parts and labor on it. Never again. I'll keep my membership Bc it's great to have in a pinch but I'll never use the service center. read more

At the end of October I renewed my membership which has a renewal date of November 2nd. Right after my renewal, we changed insurance companies and found they offered roadside assistance with the policy. On Saturday, October 29th, I called and cancelled my membership and requested a refund. I was told my policy would be cancelled but someone would call me Monday, October 31 to process my refund because they were not in on weekends. I waited all day today, October 31 but did not receive a call. I called around 4pm ET and was told I could not get a refund but should talk with "corporate" if I liked to continue the dispute. I was supposedly transferred to "corporate" in Wilmington, but that person did not have the authority to do anything to help. I do not believe AAA has the legal right to withhold my whole refund as it was paid for a service not provided. I believe it is illegal and unethical for them to take money for a service not provided. I also find the customer service extremely lacking: my membership was obviously not cancelled (therefore I was lied to), and I was not able to speak with anyone who could provide any customer service besides saying it was not possible. AAA should update their company policy to 1) be within the law, 2) be more customer friendly, and 3) be more transparent as to the process. The consumer can do anything they want at AAA online except cancel the membership. Then it becomes a bait-and-switch scheme where the consumer is left paying for a service not provided. That is fraud. read more

I had to renew my license and when I looked on the PennDOT website to find out where the closest DMV was to my residence, this AAA popped up as the first result. I was perplexed - I didn't know anyone but the Pennsylvania DMV could issue a renewal license. So, I called in advance and was told that they hold the same hours as the regular DMV and to come on in with my camera card. This morning I showed up at 8:36 am and there were 3 people in front of me. James was the only one working, but he was super fast and I had my license in hand by 8:50 am!!! Can you believe that?? I've been a AAA member for 25 years. I called for roadside assistance. A battery technician came and told me the problem wasn't the battery, needed a tow. The AAA tow truck came and jumped my car, said I definitely need a new battery and to call back AAA and someone will replace it in my driveway. They sent the same guy that told me my battery was fine and guess what, he said it was fine again and to leave my car running for an hour. Had an 11:50 appointment to get fingerprinted. I sat for 45 minutes with no update or timeline (was told he doesn't know). Asked again after 45 minutes and he said he didn't know when I'd be up and said, "the fingerprinted went on break from 12:00-12:30." why wouldn't he tell me that? instead had me sit and wait when no one was even there. why even have an appointment? he was so rude and told me "I'm done with you." when I asked. read more

Ruined my car. The techs there messed up my front end so bad that it will never be close to 100% again. First, they've had issues with my brakes in the past and you'd think Bob the manager would put notes on my car so they won't make the mistake again--wrong answer. Where do I start? The one thing that stands out in my mind is the condescending tone of the repair supervisor that helped me on my last visit here. My girlfriend took her car in to get her brakes changed two years ago at this location and ever since then we've been plagued with warped rotors from high brake heat. They put the rotors and brakes on that overheated and warped. Two months ago, we went to get the warped brakes and rotors changed, and two months later we were back at this AAA location because the brakes and rotors had over heated and warped. The condescending service supervisor proceeds to gas light us saying that he gave us the benefit of the doubt the last time we came in with the same issue. He claimed that our excessive driving is the reason for the over heating. We use the car for ride share like millions of people use their car for. I don't see tons of people on the side of the road or talking about overheating brakes and warped rotors from being a ride share driver. Apart of his solution for the repair was that they'd used better quality rotors. Well what kind were you using before that they can't handle driving like most people in 2022 do? They tried to charge us up for the issue that they caused due to using mediocre parts. Thats approach it seems. Use inexpensive parts and charge an arm and a leg on repairs. The service supervisor is super lucky that I've been meditating. He spent so much time trying to keep me in check about cutting him off on the phone only to cut me off when I'd go to speak. They really need to retrain their workers. The repair guys at the front desk are really smug and bad communicators. You will leave out of this AAA location with a bigger headache than the one you went in there with. I've had great service from the South Philly location. I don't know what the hell is up with this location in Clifton Heights. And it's in the burbs. You figure you'd get better service here, but it's worse than in the city. Terrible company. Used the tow service on Thursday 6/20 and had to wait 4.5 hours for a tow to come to tow my wife's car. Using it again today, to tow to another location, and was given a 2 hour eta. So I waited, waited and waited - until 7 minutes before my given ETA, I received another text extending my wait another HOUR. I am beyond infuriated and enraged with this company. read more

Yelling? Long Delays? Zero Stars, Really I have been a member of AAA for (yikes) 35 years. I pay for Premiere Membership. I buy my children memberships. Not cheap. Called to get my car looked at because it was making a thumping noise. Was told to bring it in to have it driven, but appts weren't available till the end of week. That is totally fine, I say, BUT please, don't make me wait another 2 - 3 hours to have it fixed. Service Manager, Doug, says that he will get me the first appointment of the morning, later that week, so that I don't have to wait. Suffice it to say, that an hour later, I hadn't heard from anyone. I asked what was going on, reminding them about I had asked not to stay there for an unnecessarily long time. Service Manager tells me what they think is wrong. I ask why no one is even working on the car. Tell him that it is unacceptable to wait for someone to do their job (both him in not reporting what is going on and the mechanics who ghosted). I am upset. This is not what was promised. Doug YELLS at me, telling me that "he can't help me" and "what do I want him to do?" I respond, "Fix my car in a reasonable amount of time." He yells again. Boo. Nope. Wrong. Look, if you 1) don't have the people to fix cars in a timely fashion, don't make the appts, 2) don't have the customer service capability to take responsibility (at least) and not YELL at customers, don't run an autocare biz. So disappointing--ridiculously bad customer service. I'd heard good things about these AAA service hubs from friends in other states, but was appalled at how we were treated. We needed to transfer our tag and title from NY to PA, but had trouble on multiple laptops/iphones using the online appointment requesting system. It just timed out every time. So we called, and after playing phone tag, finally confirmed a 9 a.m appointment to conduct our transfer with an agent named Rob. When my husband arrived with the car at the appointed time Rob denied ever setting a date or speaking with my husband. Ridiculous that he would lie--just admit you forgot to log the appointment. My husband was able to meet with a different agent, but when he showed the agent our insurance card on his phone, the agent said "oh now, I KNOW you didn't speak to Rob or he would have told you to bring a paper card" -- essentially accusing him of lying. Then they claimed they couldn't transfer the registration because the title of the car is under two names--they said it would have to be solely under my husband's name to complete the registration transfer. Bottom line: we walked out, went down the block to Agency by the Mall in Springfield, and were in and out in 15 minutes--license plate in hand. Wish we hadn't wasted our time at AAA. read more

I appreciate that after having my car towed here, they were able to look at it the next day. However, I question the technical competence of the mechanics. My car was towed due to overheating, yet I was told that the cause couldn't be found. After a $58 diagnostic test, I was given no new information, just that A) there might be a pinhole leak somewhere, based on what I originally told them and B) they couldn't get it to overheat after idling for 45min, so they couldn't find the leak or deduce the cause of the overheating. After they topped off my coolant, I drove it to my regular mechanic--Dom's Auto Repair in South Philly. Within 5min, he found and then showed me all the corrosion that was caused by the radiator leak. All Dom needed to find the leak was a flashlight, so I'm not sure where the AAA mechanics were looking. Maybe they just had an off day, but I'm glad I took my car elsewhere to get it fixed! Updated (see below) on July 30: After seeing AAA's response to my Yelp review, I contacted them and was informed I shouldn't have been charged for the diagnostic test that couldn't diagnose the problem. I went on a Friday afternoon after work to renew my license, and was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Do everything other than get your car service. Only thing they might be good for is an oil change. So call, "car service managers" have no clue about cars. The mechanic's have no clue to diagnose a car problem or maybe they don't care. Was told I need a new engine (up sell expert, must be the training). Found out from a real mechanic, the bearings on the compressor for the air conditioner seized. Pick up a map, renew your license, and pick up a coffee mug. Everyone is friendly and willing to help. I had a few repairs and oil changes on a couple of my cars and truck done here. The work done was really good the mechanics were neat and clean and returned my cars the same way. Pricing is average to high on some of their services even with AAA membership discounts. No matter what I am in for it always seem like they are up selling. Seem no matter what I am recommend something else is needed. Most the coupons are just to get you there. Some are good deals others you find isn't for your car and won't work. I would still go there for repairs if needed but not before I call around for better prices. read more

These people made several expensive and unauthorized repairs to my vehicle so I stopped using them. Unfortunately, my son blew a tire and AAA was the only service shop open on a Saturday within driving distance of our home. Without any prior authorization, AAA technicians put four brand new tires on my son's car and ignored the fact that the blown tire was brand new and still under warranty. When AAA first opened this car care site some years ago, they were terrific. Since then, the quality of service has declined precipitously. My wife and I have both been AAA members for forty or more years and we expect to receive higher quality service from a non-profit auto club that promises not to prey upon the public. read more

I went here because I believed that AAA is a reputable company and I could trust these mechanics to do a good job and to not sell me what I didn't need. DO NOT trust these guys - get a second opinion when they give you a laundry list of items to fix. I paid them an exorbitant amount of money that I will be kicking myself for long into the future. My car was not looked at the day of my appointment (what's the point of making it?), I was asked to pay the entire invoice over the phone before my car was finished because the mechanics were getting paid on Saturday or something, my axle was broken during repairs and it was fixed complimentary BUT these guys treated it like they were giving me a freebie. They broke it taking it off to fix something else! The car was not test driven before it was returned to me and I had obvious issues after I picked it up with thumping and rattling noises THAT DID NOT EXIST when I brought the car in (later found out it was the sway bar links). These guys tried to smooth talk me that it just magically appeared due to wear and tear or that I just didn't notice the noise before because of all the other "problems". With the amount of work they did on the car, I don't know how they didn't identify this issue or if they caused it so I ended up taking the car to my neighborhood mom and pop shop and he fixed the car for me and looked over what AAA sold me. He said don't go there again, they get people in the door with a coupon and then sell them a list of things they don't need. read more

I don't care if you have the highest level of AAA Membership. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR REPAIRED HERE, **especially if you are female**. I got a new starter here a few weeks ago. I was stuck and had no choice but to have it done here. While my car was there for 2 days, Jim called me repeatedly, telling me that I needed this done, that done, and then hours later, another call letting me know that I needed something else done. Oh, yeah and then, even after I told him that the starter was the only thing that I could afford, he told me that I was in the window to get my car inspected. My inspection wasn't due until the end of July. So I again reminded Jim that I was not looking to get anything done in addition to the starter. I paid for the repairs and picked up my car later in the day. Since picking up my car, I was able to have a friends husband look over the estimated $1,200 worth of work that Jim said I needed. My friends husband who has worked on cars for over 30 years said he'd look at my car himself. Well guess what, folks... I'm only due for rear brakes (WHICH I PRETTY MUCH ALREADY KNEW). Nothing wrong with my sway bar, and nothing wrong with my steering/tire. These people here will try to milk you for everything you've got. MY ADVICE -- GET A 2ND OPINION or give a Mom & Pop shop like Keith's or MC Automotive your business!! read more

my check engine light came on and I took my car into Clifton Heights AAA. They did an overpriced $99 diagnostic that I was never told about. The salesperson called me about 2 hours after having my car to advise me that the tech said I need a new thermostat sensor which would cost me roughly $441 give or take. then they would need to run another test to see if that removes the check engine light. I immediately knew that price was inflated so I clearly told the salesperson do not touch anything on the vehicle until you can assure me that this work will fix the issue. he said he would check with the tech to be certain and call me back. I also asked him for the exact name of the parts bc the price was ridiculous for the service needed. I questioned him about it and this is when I learned about the diagnostic fee. his words, "oh if you subtract the $99 diagnostic that brings parts and labor to about 3 something ". he then apologized for not telling me about the diagnostic charge up front. he then said I'll check with the tech and give you a call back. when he called me back he said and I quote, "your total is $435.41 your car is purring and you can come pick it up. HUH??? what happened to you calling me back to approve the work and quoted price.. HIM: uh um uh I uh.. "BE WARE! these people are just as bad as any other scamming mechanic that's in it for the cash and banking on your ignorance. i'm calling corporate and BBB. I never approved them completing the work. I only paid so I could get my car off their lot bc they charge $25 per day if I fought the issue and had to leave it there. plus I didn't trust them at all. read more
