I am currently renting from this company and have been very disappointed with the customer service and communication. I reserved a vehicle large enough to accommodate my family, but when I arrived, I was given a smaller vehicle that did not meet my needs. After being told that a larger vehicle was available, I made the trip back to the rental location only to be informed that they had not received the necessary approval to switch me into it. As a result, I wasted valuable time and still did not get the vehicle I originally requested. The lack of coordination and clear communication has been extremely frustrating. When customers reserve a specific type of vehicle, they should be able to rely on that reservation being honored or at least be notified in advance if there is an issue. I hope management takes steps to improve communication and customer service so others do not have the same experience. read more

My wife and I went here to drop off a rental we had picked up from another location. Once we walked it, it was a lot of people waiting for a pick up. There was only one front desk worker that was handling everything. Both pick-ups and drop-offs. It took us almost half an hour to drop-off our rental. Two other employees walked into the hall and looked around and then left, no hello was said, and no acknowledgment to assistant anyone. However, there were about 4 employees outside, washing cars. I was supposed to be issued my $50 deposit after I returned my car. After a week I hadn't received it. I knew I'd returned it early, filled the tank, washed and vacuumed the car. So there was no reason to keep my deposit. When I called I was explained the deposit was kept in error and it would be immediately returned. After another week I called and was told it was "processing". After another week I went into the business to inquire in person. This time I was told the TRUTH by a very nice young lady with a name similar to Shaneequa. (Spelled very wrong I'm sure). She explained to be that I had previously been misled and the refund had not been applied to my account. I then received my refund within two days. I am happy she was willing to quickly and "honestly" address my issue. Her professionalism and knowledge is appreciated. read more

They do upsell the coverage a bit but considering the problems with uninsured motorists in Philly I can't really blame them. I have not rented a car in years, but when I did use the "rent-a-car" service, it was always with Enterprise. I recently used Enterprise at this location because it is close to home and near my garage repair shop is located. I made my reservation online for the vehicle and this "streamlined" the process tremendously. When I arrived to get the car - it took less than 15 minutes to be on my way. This is a wonderful improvement in pleasing the customers on good customer service! The only downfall is the $400.00 hold on your credit card, but I must say the balance was refunded within 24-hours of me returning my car. I've rented from enterprise for 4 years at different locations all over the US. I love that they have the pick up drop off at different locations! I first experienced that in Indianapolis. Enterprise car rentals are cheap, convenient and excellent with customer service. However this particular location at city line avenue is by far the best. I always refer to them as my friends at enterprise! Each and every employee is excellent and you can see they have an excellent rapport with each other and with their customers. Made a reservation for a 1 day rental and half an hour before said reservation this location called me and said no cars are available until the next day. I rented a car through my car insurance and Anthony could t have been more helpful. The first car was a little small and when I upgraded he was more than happy to help me out. Well, this might be my second yelp review ever. Let me start by saying that my previous experiences renting cars have been fine, but for some reason the stars aligned to give me almost a full month of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I don't know who has an extra 6-8 hours of free time on their hands when renting a car but I definitely didn't when I rented from Bala Cynwyd enterprise. I was at a wedding all weekend and then off to the shore to visit friends. The car I got was a Nissan Versa, which right of the bat was the lowest quality car I've ever rented in my life. Within 20-30 minutes of 1.5-2hr drive to the wedding venue, I realized that the car I rented in the middle of July in PA during a stretch of over 95F weather had shoddy A/C. The A/C cut in and out the ENTIRE time I had it (multiple days), giving me the most uncomfortable drive; as a 20 something I felt like I was going through the worst of menopause. I definitely thought I might die in that car, so much so that I would try rolling down the window to see if that was cooler, it wasn't they were the same torture. As soon as I got to the wedding location I called Bala Cynwyd and what do you know, the very understanding staff couldn't help me. I called enterprise roadside assistance who could tow me a new car if I had 6-8 hours window to wait during the weekend. On top of that all local enterprise branches were closed or didn't have any cars in their inventory. So after seemingly no viable options being available I sucked it up and thought at least maybe they wouldn't make me pay for this death trap in July. I was wrong. I am not exaggerating I called this branch everyday of my vacation and at least two weeks after to ask, get confirmation, and then later be charged and denied a refund for this car. Even though everyone seemed very understanding and sympathetic of the situation they put me in, and after being verbally told I wouldn't be charged by the branch manager, they refused to refund me back the money for the car. I finally settled for half refunded but when the bank statement came in less than half was refunded. Needless to say I would not recommend this branch if you expect human level of customer service or a car for that matter, since I did not get what I had booked. A working car. read more

Only giving 1 star because it's not possible to give 0 stars. This site is always crowded and apparently mismanaged. I was given a car with a slow leak without any acknowledgement upon renting. I had to fill the tire with air 3 times within the week. The assistant manager appears to be overwhelmed and uses his personal judgement to determine what documentation is necessary for renting a vehicle. Beware the requirements are based upon the manager's discretion and how busy it is at the time of renting. Will NEVER rent from this company again as customer service is even cryptic with giving contact information to contact the regional office to ensure a proper complaint is filed. My name is Andrew Mazzer. Last week, I had to wait almost 35 minutes to rent a compact vehicle from this location. So long, that in fact, Bala Cynwynd Enterprise saw it as a customer service issue and made the decision to upgrade me into an SUV (Nissan Rogue Sport) for the inconvenience. Which of course was very nice of them, but I sincerely didn't mind the long wait, only wanted a compact vehicle in the first place, and didn't care for an SUV because they cost more to rent and are gas guzzlers. Anyways, I didn't think much of it at the time since another guy's insurance company who took liability for my accident, was paying for my rental, but only covering my rental for 1 week. Fast forward that week... Now I need the car for a few more days which I fully understand comes out of my pocket, however, Enterprise is now going to charge me an SUV rate ($43/day) instead of a CV rate ($31/day) which really boiled my blood and got me irritated. Again, THEY chose to upgrade me to an SUV because THEY claimed they made a mistake in handeling my situation, NOT me. I didn't want an SUV in the first place. And he tells me over the phone that the only solution is to come back in and trade the SUV for a CV so I don't get charged the SUV amount. Real nice Enterprise, you do realize now I have to not only refill the gas in my SUV, but inconvenience myself with trading it back in and refilling another car's gas tank later. It's just WRONG! A Better Business Bureau issue if you ask me, and they shouldn't have even hesitated to keep me in my SUV for a compact vehicle rate. They screwed up initially, NOT me! read more

The staff has to be the nicest staff I have met in all my time with Enterprise. When I made a mistake, the staff helped me out and worked with me which saved my time specific trip. Even after all they did getting me on my way... when I returned the car I found out once again I screwed up on my schedule getting back to the airport. Without me asking or initiating it... they bent over backwards to help me once again. I considered myself well traveled in America and abroad. I have not experienced that much customer care in all my years. I know that a reader reading these reviews it may sound trivial, but experiencing it and having them save my trip... made a huge difference. I have consistently used Enterprise since around 2009, I believe. When I used to live in East Norriton, I would drive all the way to their location in Upper Darby on West Chester Pike because of the great rates but, more importantly, the even better friendly representatives and customer service. In recent years, I moved to Wynnefield Heights in Philadelphia and finally realized that I was passing an inconspicuous Enterprise Branch on City Avenue on my way to the Upper Darby location. Since the City Avenue location is much closer to my house and also will pick up to my area, I have switched to this branch. . . . and I love it just as much as I did the other location! I only recently learned that both locations are managed by the same person, Tyler Pennepacker. It makes so much sense now! He does a great job in the selection and training of his employees. They really take the extra steps to be friendly, personable, have positive attitudes, and offer great customer service. I've had to go to non-Enterprise locations twice in the last 5 years and they have been a HUGE let down: poor attitudes and poor service with comparable rates. So I am conclusively a devoted Enterprise customer. The only thing that could make them better is if the cars always had full gas tanks on pick up, ;-) but they even will take it to the nearest gas station and fill the tank up for you if you really want them to. All and all, on a scale of 1-5, they really deserve a 6. I am a happy customer. read more

Snarky, snarky, snarky at the City Avenue, Philadelphia location. I got an Enterprise loaner vehicle thru BMW of the Main Line back in April. This was to be covered by my warranty as always so I was surprised to get a charge of $90 on my credit card a few weeks later. When I called the office to inquire as to what I was being charged for, they at first couldn't tell me but then decided that it must be for two days of insurance. I KNOW that I declined the insurance (as always) since I have insurance on my credit card and on my personal vehicle. I spoke with Paul in late May and he told me he would take care of it and get back to me. I spoke with Paul again in early June and he told me he would take care of it and get back to me . . . then I called Paul again and he . .. you've got it, told me he'd take care of it and get back to me. He didn't. - - - I then had to leave the country for two weeks and when I came back, the charge had still not been refunded. I called again and this time spoke with Patrick. Patrick told me he'd TAKE CARE OF IT AND GET BACK TO ME. He didn't. I called again the next day and he told me that FOR SURE, he would take care of it and get back to me first thing this morning. Well, it's after noon and I just called Patrick. He said that he HAS taken care of the refund and that I'll get an email confirming this later today and that I SHOULD CALL HIM if I don't get the email. Seriously guys? This was extremely rude and I will never ever use Enterprise again. (By the way, I still don't know if my refund has gone thru and it's July 2nd.) UPDATE: I did finally get the refund but they totally made me work for it and it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't kept calling back. read more

Terrible customer service. If you want to use a debit card to rent, they want to see a utility bill and a recent pay stub. Really? And, if you're a parent with a kid under 25, they charge an additional $40 per day PLUS want a credit card, in the kid's name, to put an additional $400 deposit charge on. Not to mention rude and arrogant punks behind the counter. I WILL NEVER rent from them again, and I was an Enterprise Plus member. Oh and by the way, they close at 1 pm on Saturday and are closed all day Sunday, so if you think you can avoid being charged for those additional 18 hours, forget it. Stay away. read more

I don't like Enterprise rental car hold of $300.00 dollars on your credit card . Its way over the top. I feel like theyre day trading in the stock market .I know nothing about the stock market but its such a huge amount of money that I feel like its a scam. I have been renting cars for 15 years consistently . I own my own car but I just don't like to take it on long trips.This Enterprise location at Bala cywnd pa has one of the lowest rental car prices by comparison to other rental car companies in the area . They are generally lower than Avis. Theyre over picky when checking your car for damages so make sure you report any minor flaw. Theyre not as bad as they used to be in the past. If you arrive late don't expect your car to be there you requested , also if you arrive early don't expect the car you requested to be there. So in short just dont expect the car you requested to be there. For long rentals the month to month option is a real savings.Enterprise recruits college students to run they're company, thats the secret to theyre success. read more

Stay away. We reserved online and when my husband dropped off the car, they tacked another $150 extra charges on a 4-day rental. They also charged us for a scrape above the door that was definitely there when we got the car. Never renting here again. i wasn't going to write a review but since they have emailed me twice requesting one, I will do so. my experience dealing w enterprise was always good up until this most recent visit. i have been a long time customer and used them many a times. I rented a car with the intentions of returning it within 5-7 days and was NOT clearly informed of the terms of service meaning they did not inform me that I would be charged for the extra driver everyday at the rate they charged me, as I was under another a diff impression when I filled out the paperwork regarding rates and terms of service that were explained in a diff manner verbally to me. Lets say that i was wrong and its my fault,even if I misunderstood the contract and situation, the rep KNEW and was fully aware without a shadow of a doubt the impression I was under... and bc of this...when I went to return the car he went to void the charge of $120 to my acct as he knew I was not properly informed or knew that he had NOT explained the additional charges to me in full and in a clear manner. he knew this and went to reimburse me but was denied authorization by his manager and I was stuck paying $120 more than I had expected or thought. if you know your customer was not properly informed or you are aware that he was under a diff impression when signing contract, then you make sure you do the customer right and give him a break, or you look to help him out. this is just good business in my opinion. very disappointed in enterprise and the bala cynwood staff for not looking to make it right w me as I was clearly upset but chose not to argue and just paid bill in full and walked out. read more
