Recently my furnace has begun buzzing like a power plant and the blower is so loud it sounds like there is a vacuum cleaner running in my house and seems always to be operating in the second stage (not the low temperature maintenance stage 1), on top of that when the blower finally does turn off it makes a clicking sound until all the moving parts have stopped. I called them in for a service call and they gave me a time and date, never showed, never called to cancel, never called to rebook. I have left countless messages on their machine and have yet to hear back from them. The furnace itself is sub par at best, you get what you pay for and I went with their two stage (they don't sell a three stage) energy star furnace, the price was competitive but now I see why, poor quality and zero service.

We called to have our furnace looked at as we had no heat. When the technician came he said the…read morethere was a major part that needed to be replaced but it was under warrantee. It took several days to get the part in and once it was installed I was handed a bill for $2000. I was told that $500 of that bill was to return the old part to the manufacturer. Upon investigating I found out that the manufacturer covers the cost of returning defective parts under warrantee and this repair should have been around $500 to $600. I requested an itemized bill from them and was told that they don't do that and was ignored when I made further inquiries. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

We woke up to no heat, made the call to Handy Brothers and within the next half hour at the least Sheldon arrived to face repairs to a twenty odd year old furnace. Within the next hour, he diagnosed and explained the problem, got the heat running, knowledgeably and efficiently answered all our questions, helped us ( through a low-pressure conversation) choose the best replacement furnace for our home and while waiting to be sure the furnace was going to run efficiently, he put a new switch on the fireplace. Great technician and fantastic service from the phone call to this posting. (They have already called to make arrangements to come measure for the new low energy, high efficiency furnace unit). In all the years we have called on Handy Brothers for their knowledge, expertise, maintenance and purchasing we have never been disappointed.
