29 year member on my most recent membership. About ten years additional, before, on another account. This is not your father's AAA. Now, very few human reps, very few tow companies on contract and often none overnight, in crisis situations, unable to get a call back from a manager despite multiple requests and even demands, not even as follow up. In January, AAA left my 80 year old diabetic, cancer patient, father and I on the side of the road for 23 hours, overnight, before a sympathetic free lance driver agreed to come get us to do a good deed at lunch time the next day. That was two AAA Plus members, seperate accounts, both multiple decades tenure, asking that something be done to help us out on a quiet, weather free day, with request initiated before noon and no rush hour interferance. Roadside assistance is secondary now, they'd rather sell travel services, life insurance, and hawk credit cards. Never again. read more

The greater Danbury, CT area does not have anyone on duty from 11pm to 7am. This means if you have any issue with your car, foat, lockout, dead battery andnit is after 11pm you will be waiting until after 7am the following day for assistance. AAA will tell you that the call is scheduled but nobody will show up. So on top of not getting you service they flat out lie to you. The kicker is tonight I placed my first call to AAA at 8:15pm and nobody came and now I have to wait until tomorrow am. I work nifhts amd am now out several hundred dollars thanks to AAA. Had they just been honest I could have called a service station while they were open earlier this evening. Thanks for letting me down and lying to me AAA. At least I get discount movie passes.... read more

Don't try to go here if you are in a rush. The most recent time I came to this office, I had an appointment with a commercial insurance agent. There was a line to talk to the travel employees at the counter. One of the employees behind the counter rudely told us to wait in line. We said we had an insurance appointment. She said we had to wait. We stood there for about 5 minutes while the elderly customers in front of us purchased Disney tickets and added their grandchildren to their plans. We were very confused because we had an appointment for something totally different and did not see the need to wait in line behind these travel customers. I went and talked to the insurance agent to let her know we were here, we weren't late, we were just told to wait. She said that we have to wait to "be checked in". What? My manager and I decided that we deserve better service if we are going to be switching insurance carriers for our company. Do not look to AAA for insurance. You will have to jump through a lot of hoops just to talk to a human, and then are told to wait to check in. Good thing we weren't having an emergency. read more

I just called the local Danbury office to re-join, since dealer coverage on our (not so ) new car has lapsed. The AAA person I spoke to was so courteous, knowledgeable and patient! It was a pleasure dealing with her. And of course, AAA offers a lot of service. Should I have to call them for roadside assistance, I'll add a second review for that. read more

I went to AAA to pick up an international drivers license and some maps. The took my photos for free and I was out of there with my license within 15 minutes. read more

This is one of those "best-kept secrets." Went in today to get my driver's license renewed and it took literally less than 15 minutes around noon. Employees are efficient, COURTEOUS (you will not get that at the DMV), and organized. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT waste your time at the DMV when you can come here. Even non-members just have to pay $3 for DMV services. I would have paid ten times that amount. read more

Went in to get a passport photo which was super quick and, because I belong to AAA, it was free too! But what really made my day was the young lady who helped me. She was cheery, friendly and ultra-competent and really made my day. I didn't get her name but I remember that she is graduating from college next year. Her thank you was heartfelt and much more welcome than the usual "Have a good one." Thanks AAA and keep up the good work. read more

Always wonderful service here. They have a wealth of information and discounts that you would never think of. This visit I ordered euros. They said it would take a few days. It took 2 days. The fastest service. Easy, quick. THe teller also helped me pick out a great thin pocketbook to be worn under clothes in order to avoid pick pocketers while in Europe. AAA CANCELLED MY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE in the middle of the policy because my family requested assistance "too many times" in the last 18 months. I bought the Gold Plus membership and even though we did not max out the number of calls, we were dropped anyway. AAA told us that most families only use one tow or roadside assistance per year and our family asked for more. Sorry! The extreme cold weather made my tire low in the driveway, and my commuter son had a blow out on 684 and nearly crashed the car and he needed help on the side of the highway with changing the tire! And yes, my car broke down last summer in upstate New York and had to be towed back to our local mechanic. These are all covered under the Gold Plus plan, however AAA isn't making enough money on us and through some legalise b.s. cancelled us! This is after being a customer for over 20 years and faithfully paying the expensive premium for three members of our family. Get roadside assistance elsewhere, AAA offers you service then cancels you when you use it. read more
