We rented a van here for our trip to Florida. It was a great price compared to their competitors. Quick and easy pickup other than asking for my insurance coverage binder to ensure I had full coverage. I didn't have a problem with it, I didn't want to have to scramble for it when I got there. I would've liked to know that ahead of time. Lots of extra options and add-ons are available. I usually don't, but I added the insurance this time because there were snow storms that weekend. Would rather be safe than sorry. Otherwise, I would've got the rental for eight days for around $1100. It was clean and worked great. Lots of room and trunk space. We went with nine people and fit everyone and all of the luggage comfortably. They were closed when I was returning, so I used the key drop off outside. I got my final bill the next day after the truck was checked. No extra charges were added, which was a good thing. Would definitely rent from here again. read more

so we reserved a LUXURY CAR, we get to the enterprise location, they say we only have a Mazda 9, that's the ONLY car they have, we say, we reserved a LUXURY CAR, then they say we DON'T have luxury cars here, they are only at the airport, since we reserved the car, why wasn't one bought to your location, they had no answer, so they tell us to go to a different location, they have a Tahoe, we go there, they tell us they CANT give us that vehicle because it's rented for Sunday, mind you this was Monday, so they were going to leave the Tahoe on the lot, not rent it because it was going out on Sunday, again offered us different options, we say no we reserved a luxury vehicle, then the girl says if you can get the Tahoe back here Sunday morning, we can take it, ( our flight leaves Sunday morning at 6 am) so not possible, she makes a phone call, FINALLY, they say you can take the Tahoe, we will pay someone OT to get it here Sunday morning. Needless to say, we will NEVER go to Enterprise for a rental again, they get you there then try and put you in a completely different vehicle than what you reserved. Why do the sakes people say things that are incomplete? You really have to look up the real facts about things like refueling charges and basic and extra insurance. When speaking to me the sakes rep said refueling would be $3.45 a gallon if I brought the car back with less than a full tank. WHAT HE DIDN'T MENTION WAS THE SURCHARGE TACKED ONTO THAT. Second- when he said Triple A only covers a limited distance for towing what he didn't say was BASIC is not $27.00 a day but a gibberish amount of money tacked on PER DAY. ASK QUESTIONS. If I could give this business zero stars I would. We had made a reservation for a full size van in January, received a confirmation email at that time, also received a reminder email confirmation a week prior. Went to pick up the van at time arranged and was told at the time of pickup that the van was not available. Was told that there were no full size SUV's or mini-vans to substitute. I was told that rental cars "are not guaranteed" despite the confirmations received. I was offered no resolution to this problem. Attempted to contact customer service and was told I would be unable to speak to an area manager for help. Was told someone would call me within three days. Never received a phone call. I attempted to follow up again with enterprise headquarters and was redirected back to the branch. I will never rent from then again. Be warned. Do not rent from them. If I could give this Enterprise a zero i would. I rented a car from this location because I was having a car repaired. Initial interaction was fine. However I requested a sedan which they did not have so I got stuck with a luxury suv. Called mid week to exchange the car for again a sedan nothing. What should of been a simple 240 rental is now nearly a 700 rental because of zero communication from staff. They take advantage by secretly changing name on Rental agreement and then say they'll email the invoice and paperwork to you. They scam you into thinking that you must have protection policy (a daily fee- and expensive) without telling you anything about it. Exercise caution if you are renting a van from this location. I had a 5-month in advance rental for a very important trip. I was called THE NIGHT BEFORE I was scheduled to pick up the van stating that they could not honor my 5-month-old reservation. I was shocked that this is allowed and they didn't reach out earlier to, at least, afford me the opportunity to find a van from an alternate location. My partner was taking our SUV out of town on a business trip, and I had no transportation. I needed a rental within 24 hours. I wanted a mid-size Sedan for use around town, and the drive to and from work. I contacted Enterprise Rent-A-Car. The representative said there would be no problem, and they had the solution for me. We worked on a plan for the next morning. The representative said the car would be ready for pick up when I needed it. I asked for an email with the estimate to be sent to my online address. He did so. My ride was very late, and I was not able to make the appointed time. Reed Carter was very helpful over the phone and held the car for another hour. I also spoke to Michelle Gauthier who was courteous and pleasant, once again holding the car for additional time. When I arrived, Reed was extremely professional and nice. He gave me an upgrade to a better vehicle. All went well for the next 3 days. The rental was better than I expected and handled very well. When time to turn in the vehicle, Michelle was there to greet me. She was friendly and had a caring personality. She adjusted the estimate, checked the car for anomalies, gave me the receipt, and asked if I needed a ride home. Do not rent from them. They scam people. They call it "calendar day billing" and charge you an extra day. If you get your car on Tuesday and return it on Wednesday, they charge you for two days even when you are back in time. They gave me a car with low tire pressure and the guy said it was because its cold outside (the other 3 tires being okay). He then didn't use a gauge and over inflated the tire. Really can't say enough good stuff about Michelle and the other kind people at this location. I rented twice in a 2-week period due to car troubles. The first time the service was very good, picking up on a Sunday morning, was very busy, had not met them before, but I did not have to wait long, they gave me a nice car and made sure I was happy. When I had to extend the rental I called and they said no problem, we'll give you the weekly rate. Returned a week later when my car had to go back into the shop and Michelle hooked me up with a super-sweet upgrade! Vrooooommm! They were so accommodating to my needs and communication with them was very easy. Hope all my car troubles are solved for now but when I need a rental I will definitely return to Enterprise! I am a frequent customer of Enterprise in Jersey City, my home base. On Friday, March 6, I rented a car from them that turned out to be sub-standard. After driving it for the first hour of a five hour trip to NH on Saturday, I had to pull off in Danbury, CT because I was afraid to go any further in that car. I called for help from the Jersey City office and they offered to find a place near me for a switch. They sent me to an Enterprise on Federal Road in Danbury. The office in Jersey City had contacted them to see if they had a car for me, and were told yes - in fact they had a Mustang and two small SUVs. When I got there, I was told there were no cars available. Then, one of the employees gave me a card and suggested I drive to another location in Danbury. Shouldn't he have made a call for me to see if they had a car? He looked online and said they did. I called that office and they didn't have any cars. Long story short, I decided to wait at the Federal Road office for someone to turn in a car. None of the employees suggested that I do that, however. I decided it was my only choice. They continued to ignore me. Finally, after an hour or more, someone returned a car. I know that my home Enterprise office should not have rented me a car that sounded like an airplane, had steering issues, and barely made it up to 65 mph. However, they were mortified and did all they could to find me another one...especially Vinnie, who said that he had to call the Federal Road office numerous times because no one answered the phone! The staff at the Enterprise on Federal Road didn't have a clue on how to assist a customer in need while traveling. They could barely talk! The people who work here don't know what they are doing. They need to be trained better and be more organized. First off, I rented a van. The morning I was supposed to pick it up I received a phone call that it was getting work done in the shop due to a stolen part. I later got an update that the van was ready to be picked up at 12pm (the time I booked for). I went there just to be told the van was still at the shop and they are waiting to hear from the shop. Second off, they wanted to see my car insurance and called my insurance company. I have rented from Enterprise before at different locations and even abroad in Europe and not once have they ever done this. This location flat out refused to rent me the van because I didn't have collision on my plan. I drive an old car and my insurance company advised me that it would cost me more in fees to pay for collision than my car's worth. The young woman at the desk didn't even offer to place me on the rental plan. The manager had left early so there was no superior to speak to. I canceled with them before I was even charged and rented somewhere else that didn't put me through this hassle. Unprofessional staff. It's sad because I always thought highly of Enterprise, but I will NEVER go to this location again. read more

I have rented many cars from enterprise over the last two years and have never had a bad experience. But my last experience with this location was less than satisfactory. When I arrived I was told that I would not be upgraded to a larger vehicle because I am under the age of 25 (this was odd to me because I had always only rented SUVs). I was then told they had to "get a car ready for me" because they did not have one. I waited a while. They brought around a car that was absolutely filthy on the outside. The inside had a stain and crumbs on the steering wheel and a sticky substance in the cupholders and center console with long brown hair stuck to it. During a pandemic I would imagine they would take cleaning a little more seriously. I was not happy with this experience and will not use this location again. read more

I've rented car here multiple times. First time was pretty good. And since the 1st time all the further experience have been bad. Like the recent one, I asked for a full size sedan. They gave me a Camry which had already done 35k. The car was not so good. So many scratches and for courtesy sake the car was not even cleaned from inside, it was so dusty I ended up sneezing. Finally I dropped off the car on Saturday, Monday morning the guy calls me and says there is a piece of plastic dangling at the bottom and said he would claim. Counter people should remain at the counter to move cars out! I rent cars 1-2 week and cannot afford this kind of time loss. We need a way to make regular customers in and out in 5 minute customers. I had the most unfortunate experience of having my car stolen. Enterprise on Federal Rd in Danbury came to my rescue. Once I'd finished meeting with the police a lovely young man picked me up ON TIME and walked me through the rental process efficiently and expedisously. They checked in with me regularly to see how I was doing with the car as well as expressing sincere hopes that my car would be recovered. It was but it took nearly 30 days to restore the damage. I left the rental vehicle at the dealership where my car was repaired and the process was just so smooth and staff most efficient. I highly recommend this office for rental needs. read more

Over the years we at the hospital have used them but now we simply refuse to go there or send customers.. Any of the good staff only last a few months and the ones who are left are a waste of space. I was back East for a Book Tour and booked my car rental weeks in advance. I booked the rate online for one price and when I called this Enterprise location didn't honor the reservation and said the rate was invalid. They charged me a higher rate for the vehicle. I ended up renting anyway for the weekend and received the weekend rate. I made another reservation for the following week at this Enterprise. Confirmation in hand I walked in to do the paperwork and get the car to head to a book signing. The entire staff with the exception of the woman that assisted me claimed that I wasn't able to rent the car with another's credit card. Mind you I had just done this the week prior. From the manager on down they claimed it was "policy". I advised them ad told the manager that I was just here and rented a vehicle this way and he was aware of it. He flat out lied and now said it was policy and nothing they could do. That's not the worst of it. The rudeness and lack of professionalism was in full effect. I don't know whether they wanted to rent the car I had reserved for a higher rate with another or not but it must of been something to that effect. Unbeknownst to me, my family had a bad experience at this location some years back and it seems nothing has changed. Horrible service, lack of professionalism, respect, not honoring online reservations and the selective enforcement of their policies is just the beginning. Apparently this is some new policy they have, so be warned--Enterprise will charge you for the FULL DAY even if you don't take the car. When I called to complain, they refused to reverse the charges, saying that "for that hour they couldn't rent the car to someone else." The credit card company sided with me and refunded my money--and then Enterprise sent me a bill with a threatening note saying it was going to compound fees until I paid it. Just be warned; I'd stick with Alamo or Budget. read more
