I have been renting cars for work for years and I don't think I have ever waited or had as much as an inconvenience as I had with this location. You have to do pick up and drop off only during their office hours. There is no after hours pick up, with everything being done through the app. When you leave work early to make it on time, you're stuck waiting a long time, so be prepared to sit and wait. Also, they called me ahead of time to make sure I owned and planned on using a credit card. Like, really, why are you calling me about how I plan to pay before I even get there, where we have to talk about payments because God forbid we follow suite with other rental companies and do everything though the app. Budget or Avis is the way to go, everything through the app and I haven't need to physical talk to someone in many years. read more

I have to say only positive things because I needed a car on very short notice- and they provided exactly what I needed. Full disclosure- I think they are wicked expensive. I rented though AAA a month ago for half the price and double the size/style of car- but I also pay for that benefit in other ways. Still, enterprise was accessible In person and on line. Their online reservation system was flawless and fast. I would certainly keep in mind if you require a rental car fast or are willing to pay for good service. Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Car Rental Near Me - Watertown, Connecticut

In November of 2022, my 27 yr old son's car engine broke down on a busy major interstate. In order to keep his employment, my husband helped him rent a car from Enterprise rental, 1175 Main St, Watertown, CT, and had a rental agreement of 833H02. A 2021 Nissan Sentra vehicle was provided. After having the car for one week, my son went to put the car in gear from park to drive, and the shifter broke off in his hands in the driveway. When my son was stranded and looking for assistance from Enterprise, he was told that he needed to come up with 500.00 up front, otherwise they would not assist him in any way. The car was replaced, and the Sentra towed and sent to a dealer of Enterprise's choosing. We were not offered to have our own inspection of the vehicle performed by ourselves or another mechanic. Their inspection came back immediately, and we were told that this was not a defect in the vehicle, and that "soda" was found in the shifter, which may have caused the issue. This was confusing, as my son does not drink soda, nor would it have corroded a shifter. Daniel Wilson, the district manager, then spoke to my husband about this issue, and told him that it was his belief that there was "malicious intent", and that we would be billed for the damages. No investigation into Nissan's recalls, nor the possibility of there being a defect in the manufacturing of the vehicle were investigated. When we asked for Mr. Wilson's manager, we were directed right back to Mr. Wilson several times. Enterprise customer service was then informed of the issue. Representative Chelsea M.Pennington informed us that the matter was closed, and that no further charges would be placed on this contract via email. A new invoice was sent to us without the 500.00 charge. This occurred in December of 2022. In May of 2023, a bill from Enterprise's own collection agency was provided for over 700.00 in charges. It was told to us by this department that there was a miscommunication, that Enterprise customer service did not mean to imply there were no charges. Andrea McClintic, claims manager, has communicated that she is not interested in reviewing our side of the story, only what is being shared with her by Enterprise. Enterprise denies that my son was accused of malicious intent by Mr. Wilson, they deny that they informed us that no further charges would be provided, they denied us the right to have our own inspection of the vehicle, and they profiled my adult son, who has facial tattoos. I have reported them to the BBB, the attorney general, and to the state of CT. My next step is to provide my story to all social media platforms and to the local news, in order for our story to be heard. read more

I was in a car accident and hit by someone with no insurance. I needed a rental. I've came to this location many of times with no problem. This time I was told they did not have any compact cars on the lot. (I wanted the cheapest since I was paying for everything my self) They put me in a SUV. I called twice to see if they had any smaller cars. I drive by the lot for work and always noticed there was compact cars and sedans. When I called they lied to me saying they did not have any. I returned my rental because I did not want to pay so much. They were suppose to let me know when they get a compact car in. Two different cars hit me the same day in two different locations. Both were covered by the same insurance (LM). When I brought my car in to be repaired, the shop arranged for Enterprise to pick me up and both the shop and Enterprise confirmed it would be covered by LM. This was in July. In September I noticed an Enterprise charge on my credit card so I called them to see what was going on. They submitted the wrong name to LM and so LM refused to cover it. Then, they went to charge my insurance (without ever calling me/investigating why LM might have rejected the claim) but confused me with my mom and charged her insurance and then put the difference on my card. This was all discovered through several phone calls in September. It is now the end of October and the charge is still on my credit card and my mom's insurance still has not been reimbursed. When I spoke to the manager on the phone she said she would see what they could do. I appreciate that but what they should do is refund me my money since this is all entirely their fault. This branch charged me double their advertised rate and since I'm from out of state stranded with a broken down car I had no option. When I called corporate head quarters they said I shouldn't have signed the contract and they can't control what other branches do. I guess I should have walked the 150 miles home! rented a minivan for vacation....returned the van on saturday after hours walked around for damage.....get a call on monday (they are closed sunday) at 3 pm saying there is damage on the left rear door.... went and looked at it and there is damage and by the hit on the back side of the rear door the only way it could have been damaged is somebody hitting it while parked....now they are charging me $500 and a claim on my insurance...it was sitting in the same spot for 2 days in a fairly busy parking lot...it could have been an employee as far as i know.....take pictures they will rip you off read more

Michelle Roche in the last week-Edit Horrible experience will never use Enterprise again. The office was dirty, the staff was borderline rude, especially the manager. No one even addressed me when I walked in and I waited 25 minutes for anyone to help me or even address me. I had reserved a car two weeks prior to my trip and was there when they told me to be there and then the staff at Watertown Enterprise told me they didn't have a car for me, and were not in the least even apologetic. They acted like I was bothering them. Their response was "The reservation team is at fault not us, we are not responsible for the bookings the reservation team makes". (Are you kidding me?!) After I waited another 15 minutes they told me they could get me a car at a different Enterprise location about a half an hour away from Watertown, but then I would then have to drive the employee back. Then they decided they were too short staffed for that option and told me to come back at 5 ( 3 hours after I was supposed to get the car and leave) and they would have a car ready, hopefully. I came back at 5 and waited 45 minutes to get into a car. I watched 3, YES 3, other customers storm out and refuse to use Watertown Enterprise because of similar issues that I had. In addition, no one told me that I had to bring my insurance card and since I didn't have it i asked them to verify with my insurance but they told me "it was too late and they are short staffed" so if I wanted the rental car I had to pay the extra $21 A DAY for insurance but I had no choice because I was now already 4 hours late getting on the road for my trip thanks to Enterprise. They told me to call them upon my return regarding a discount for all of this. At the end of my trip I dropped the car off after hours on Sunday. I called first Monday am to make sure there were no issues and asked them not charge my card until I spoke with them about a discount and credit for the car having extra gas when I dropped it off. The lady that answered told me she couldn't help me but someone would call me back. I have called 4 times over two days and now 4 days later, no one has called me back and they charged my card for the full amount. I have several more trips scheduled and I can assure you I will never use Enterprise, especially Watertown Enterprise again. read more
