I fell for their promise of automatic delivery because I'm frequently gone during the winter. There is no problem with the automatic billing, but when it comes to delivery it's just an empty promise. I live in the Jemez and called them in December and told them they needed to come before it snowed. No problem, they said, I was scheduled for delivery that very week, so we left on vacation. Now, there has been no delivery and guess what? They can't deliver because of the snow and I am left without propane for the winter. I tried to call and chat and can only talk to the very nice people in Ohio who are completely powerless to do a thing about it. read more

This is the worst propane company ever, they delivered more than I asked for agreed to payments then started to charge me late fees. I tried contacting them about it, I was sent to some answering service in the middle east. The person I talked to couldn't really speak or understand English. Just kept repeating over and over we have due late we have due date that's why late charges. Their mistake and they were making me pay for thier mistake. Very crooked business beware. AAA/Amerigas (they merged) is a good service provider in the ways that matter. I found the initial visit (inspecting, tank delivery, etc) to be flexible and efficient. Their service over the phone is very strong - usually Yevette who seems to care and always picks up....which is sometimes a little rare in this industry. Recently we had a little snafu (part my fault, part theirs) which I gave them a hard time about and Yevette and Kirk problem solved through it admirably despite me being a bit of a jerk about it. They deal with my remote/hilly property well without much whining.....just sort of accept it's the world they operate in. Delivery guys are always good dudes. read more

The closed on a home in Placitas on February 28, 2019. The property had a 500 gallon buried propane tank leased from AAA Gas Company in Rio Rancho, NM The propane lease was NOT part of the closing. I was simply provided a telephone number for AAA Propane to call should I wish to set up a new lease with them. After speaking to neighbors and shopping various local propane companies I made a decision to purchase my own tank from another vendor. I wanted to own my own tank so that I would be able to purchase propane from any vendor. I called AAA Propane on March 19, 2019 to advise them that I would not be using their company and to please come and remove their tank Once the representative I was speaking with determined that I was not interested in keeping their Propane Tank the call became threating and hostile. I was told that I would be responsible for various costs and responsibilities obligations to have the tank removed. This was followed by a telephone call from the local manager the following day. The manager repeated the same threats and continued to try and intimidate me. It's important to note that I had not done business with AAA Gas Company in any way prior to the telephone call. I had not signed a lease, nor had I even spoken with them regarding the tank. I was simply calling to advise them of my decision to not use their company and ask them to remove their tank. Further, I asked that they remove the tank within two weeks. (The found this unacceptable and advised me that they had 30 days to remove the tank). Angry unstable people. Be careful! We showed up to their location about 10 minutes to 5. Their sign on the front door said OPEN. We needed propane. Nobody was in the front office so we walked around back. The door was opened so we walked in. A girl approached us and said CAN I HELP YOU!!!. We told her we needed propane. She yelled at us YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED BACK HERE. We told her nobody is up front. There was no sign out back that said do not enter, regardless, this rude girl then yelled and said I COULD CALL THE POLICE ON YOU, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED BACK HERE!. We replied that she should go ahead and do that and we left. We will never go back there. read more

Service is a little slow, but they only charge you for what they put in your tank, unlike the competitors on 2nd St. its propane service, what more can I say? I don't want to pay for more than I bought, honesty goes a long way. read more

Talked to a neighbor to find out that they pay almost half what AAA charges for propane. So AAA has been rewarding being a long term customer by charging me $1.30/gallon more than my neighbors using competitors. They've likely taken me for $15,000 over the years. That's what I get for not checking propane prices, and just assuming they were honest. read more

We planned to winter in the ABQ area. As our first winter camping experience we we're not aware that NM does not allow RV LP gas refills on site. That meant we had to have a 120 gallon LP tank delivered that is refillable. AAA was wonderful to work with. Even though they were out of tanks when we ordered it the staff went out of their way to find us a tank to keep us warm and safe. They have been a pleasure to work with. The installation was professional, prompt and the staff friendly and helpful. They even gave us a veteran discount. Highly recommend them. read more

Hi, I just called to inquire about switching my entire neighborhood to AAA Gas. The lady who answered the phone in the Rio Rancho, NM office was incredibly rude. She was asking questions and I answered them, but I could not ask questions nor explain why we order propane as a community. She actually hung up the phone on me. As a community, we bring in 1,500 - 3,000 gallons of propane at a time 3 - 4 times per year, at a minimum, depending on the winter. I was attempting to find out what the price would be for this type of delivery but all she could say was there is a 1st-time order, and then every person gets a customer-specific price depending on need. When I did try to ask a question, she said she could not talk as she was too busy and hung up. If you want excellent customer service and a price that is less expensive per gallon, try Pinnacle Propane! At the price I was just quoted, I saved $152 on a full fill-up. read more

They have systematically overcharged their delivery customers, and only offer credit when a complaint is made. They figure you won't notice that they charge almost 2X what their competitors charge. What's a few hundred bucks a month, right? An honest company would actually mail out refund checks, not count on loyal customers finally noticing they've been ill-served. read more
