    A friend of mine, who is Brazilian, has visited this location for the past four years. She has always gotten all services for the DMV here. This year 2021 in August she visited this location again to renew her registration tags and a change of title. The first time she was there a young man helped her. He said that the title paperwork was filled out incorrectly and she could not complete the title transfer nor pay the tags. She called me to ask what she should do. I suggested to return to that same location and talk to a different person. Disgustingly enough, this was the worst thing I could've told her to do. The older Caucasian lady treated her so unkindly that I had a call from her right after she left that office crying uncontrollably. We all know that you can pay registration tags but you might not get the tags. This is what was urgent to her since she did not want to pay late fees on it. The older Caucasian lady proceeded to say exactly the same thing that the young man had told her at the beginning. So I did review the title paperwork they were talking about and all seemed to be correct. So I decided to guide her through the process of doing everything online directly with the DMV. A few weeks later we received an email directly from the DMV saying that all the forms were reviewed and excepted as is. She was not missing anything and everything was in order. I wish I can say that the DMV is on top of their technology but we all know they are not. So, since we were having problems with paying the tags online I decided to go with her to this location for a third time. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. For me three times.....that's just stupid. (I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. ) When we arrived we were helped by the same older Caucasian lady. I was able to witness the horrible customer service that came from her. She proceeded to throw the member cards back to us as she scolded us: she reminded us what to do, she pushed a few forms that needed to be filled and tried to dismiss us. This time I had the email from the DMV stating that they were excepting the form just as it was. They had not found any errors. I could tell that she was determined not to help us or to give us what we need it. I let her read the info on the DMV page. But she was fixated to look for any and every excuse that she was right. She flexed her muscles as she said, " I have direct contact with the DMV". She proceeded to call the DMV and ask the questions that she thought would prevent us from getting the services we needed. I could hear the responses from the DMV representative, " Just get her to fill out the pink correction form and we can do it." Since she did not like the answer, she pointed out another mistake. In the six boxes where one puts the mileage, the numbers were entered from the left instead of the right, leaving the last box blank. THE DMV HAD ALREADY FOUND IT AND SAID IT WAS ADMISSIBLE! Of course, the employee did not mention this to him and so he was forced to say that the title was inadmissible and we couldn't transfer it. At this time the manager heard and walked over. As I explained the problem of the first, second and third visit. The employee admitted we could pay the tags but would not get them physically. Once we payed, I walked over to the branch manager letting her know of my concerns in reference to my friend, "Is this because english is limited to her, or perhaps her color? " I never like to use that as an excuse for bad behavior but, she has paid the tags for the same car for 4 years in that location. The only thing that was changing is that it was no longer going to be under the company name, it was going to be her property. September 2021- We just got back from a secondary location in Irvine. We walked in, handed them the title (With the so called errors), showed her the info on the DMV website of were our case stood, and she handed us the registration tags since we had already payed for them. It took us less than 5 minutes. She kept the title in order to mail it in for us. AAA, why do you charge people to deal with DMV attitude? Please look into this branch.

Quite simply, the "benefits" are a MESS. It's difficult to understand what your benefits are, the process to find a provider is lengthy and time-consuming, and once you find a provider, it's difficult to actually get the care you need. I was initially enrolled in the medical HMO, dental HMO, and vision plan. I discontinued the vision plan because it was nearly worthless. Then switched from the dental HMO to the POS plan. Let me point out a few of the problems: 1) NETWORK FILLED WITH 1- AND 2-STAR DOCTORS: If you look through the list of providers offered by the HMO, most are poorly rated online. Some phone numbers on the list don't even work (one was for a bail bond agency, another for a medical practice in another state, another number was disconnected). I finally settled on a provider that is only in the clinic on Tuesdays, doesn't take appointments, and has an office filled with homeless patients seeking opiates (as he is the only provider in the group who prescribes them). 2) MULTIPLE GROUPS (MIDDLE MEN) ARE INVOLVED: You have Garnett-Powers, who gives you Aetna, who gives you some medical group, who gives you the actual doctor. If you dare seek behavioral health, then it's a different company than Aetna, which they don't tell you. The process is so convoluted, I really pity anyone with mental health needs, as I doubt they will be able to jump through all the hoops. Then there's California Dental. They have a list of providers, most of which are 1-star. Their list is not updated, so when you finally find a provider who has decent reviews, they won't be accepting new patients. 3) EVERYTHING TAKES FOREVER: It took me over 4 months to get a needed ultrasound. I first had to see my PCP, who had to submit a referral request to the medical group, who told me to make an appointment with an imaging center, who told me that I wasn't covered to be seen there, so I had to make several phone calls to find a different imaging center, which I took a morning off of work to go to, where they said they never received a referral, so wasted the morning instead calling the medical group, then went in person to my doctor to get the referral printed, then made another imaging appointment, etc. They're lucky I didn't have cancer, because that would have been a lawsuit. 4) NO ONE KNOWS WHAT'S GOING ON: They, Aetna, Regal Medical Group, and California Dental have mastered the runaround. No one seems to know what's going on, and their records are always incorrect. The associate I have communicated with, Dane Pisano, is really nice, but that unfortunately doesn't make up for how awful this plan is. I work at USC Medical Center - why can't I see doctors here, like normal (non-postdoc) employees?
