He even took off his shoes and respected my space, without me asking. After taking a moment to look at the pipes in my old building, he recommended not installing it based on the diameter and height of the pipes which would leave me with a wet and smelly disposal. I rely on Yelp reviews to help select professional services so I need to help others with this following review. Nikolay, AAA Plumbing & Rooter Service scammed me last week out of $820 for work that my maintenance man James (if he had been available) could have done for $100. James confronted him and Nikolay of AAA Plumbing said to James "YES! I'M A SHADY MOTHERFUCKER". There was a leak bet 1st & 2nd floor bathrooms. It took him five days to "fix" it. Every day he said he would be here in the morning & fix it that same day. But he always showed up in the afternoon-whenever he wanted & without notice. Then he wld leave to get "parts" from his shop 5 min. away but he wld come back 2 hours later. It was clear that he knows once a "client" starts & is told "I'll fix it today" every day that the client isn't going to call another plumber at that point. SO-He was done and wanted $820. I repeatedly asked him "how" he fixed it bec I didn't see anything different. He didn't replace the pipe that was leaking. He said that wld be too much work. He REFUSED to tell me how he fixed it. I stupidly paid him and he was So pleased with himself for getting away with it. When James demanded Nikolay explain what he did, Nikolay REFUSED to answer. James didn't give up & Nikolay finally said "I REPLACED THE RUBBER RINGS UNDER THE TOILET". Toilet rings cost @$4. The toilet can be removed and replaced in less than one hour. I called these guys based on reviews, which makes me think they are fake now, but this was the rudest worst experience I've ever had calling a contractor! Told me it was $175 minimum just to come out plus service plus parts, and I politely said, sorry, but I think that's too expensive as I just have a leaky pipe behind my toilet. The guy then responded "IT'S NOT TOO EXPENSIVE, your property taxes are $3-7k a year, which they're not. I said sorry, not interested and he continued to be rude. I called AAA Plumbing to help with a clogged garbage disposal. Based off the other Yelp reviews, we thought we'd give these guys a try. I spoke to the owner, Nicolai, at about 8am, and he said he could come between 10-10:30 the same day. He actually ended up showing up earlier than promised (this never seems to happen...). He was a pleasure to work with and very professional. Since it was the first time in our building, he needed to prove license/insurance info to the management office. Normally this is where other contractors have gotten very annoyed with the process and have caused issues for us in the past (getting aggressive with Management, almost getting kicked out, etc). But not Nicolai. He was calm and polite, and gave them everything they needed. As for the actual issue, he was upfront with pricing and was quick to begin the repair. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing, and within about 30 minutes, everything was back to normal. All the while, he completed the work with a very friendly demeanor. Prices seemed very reasonable for the area, and if we run into any other issues, I wouldn't hesitate to call him back. read more

I called Nikolai at 9pm to come out a new shut off valve on my kitchen sink because mine failed and flooded my entire condo and the two condos below mine. Even though it was his birthday, he stopped what he was doing and showed up (wearing a suit!), within 2 hours, so that we could replace the valve and get the water restored to the rest of the building. I was surprised by this rude response, so I asked if that was how you responded to all phone calls. He angrily, told me I called the emergency line.
