Free notary service except no one on duty at 3 p.m. on a Wednesday. I was told the person had left an hour earlier. I called the branch before driving 25 minutes to get there, but no one answered the phone for the 25 minutes I waited before hanging up. Very disappointing experience. read more

FYI: LICENSE RENEWAL - GO TO YARMOUTH RMV!!! On arrival - nice young lady reviewed all my documents for the REAL ID, I brought extra of everything (auto insurance policy, credit card statement, utility bill etc.) - because AS WE ALL KNOW / THERE IS ALWAYS ONE FORM YOU DON'T HAVE!!! After reviewing my paperwork she told me everything was in order & it would be 40 min wait. Over 2 hrs later, my name is called - the ONE & ONLY PERSON renewing licensing was extremely rude & told me one form was incomplete - refused to accept it & refused to renew my license. I then drove to Yarmouth registry, waited LESS THAN 5 minutes (THEY HAD AT LEAST 10 -12 EMPLOYEES renewing licenses/plates/titles etc.) & low & behold - the form that was supposedly incomplete according to the rude AAA person - was accepted WITHOUT ANY ISSUE. AAA REALLY NEEDS TO TRAIN THE EMPLOYEES THAT CHECK YOU IN - THEY WASTED MY TIME. I ALSO SAT WITH MANY ELDERLY PEOPLE THAT WERE TREATED VERY RUDELY ON ARRIVAL (BY A SHORT MALE EMPLOYEE WITH ZERO COMMON COURTESY MANNERS!!) - there was a form that I completed online that I brought with me that is required - an elderly man sitting across from me noticed my form - he went back to check in to the nice young lady that checked me in & SHE GAVE HIM the form - WHY DIDN'T THE SHORT RUDE MALE employee that checked him in do that???? TAKE AWAY LESSON - AAA only has ONE EMPLOYEE for license renewal - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AT AAA / GO TO YARMOUTH RMV!!! To be fair - AAA had 2 very nice female employees that treated EVERYONE w/ common courtesy & respect - just a shame my paperwork wasn't reviewed properly. This AAA location is fantastic. I have gone in here a few times (once to renew my license and another time to have passport photos taken) and have always had a great experience. I went in on a Saturday to have my passport photo taken and was immediately greeted by an associate that was able to help me. She seemed to have the process down to a science and due to that, I was in and out within 5 minutes. She took my photo, printed them, ensured they met the picture qualifications, cut them perfectly and even placed them in a nice envelope for me. They even had a passport renewal application there for me to fill out. The whole process only cost $8 which is much cheaper than other photo stores. Just another reason that I'm glad to be a AAA member! read more

Apparently AAA no longer offers the service it once did. Went in for maps and books today for a trip and was basically refused service. We have gone in many times before for maps and books last minute and have always been helped on the spot. This time we were told they couldn't do much of anything 'last minute'. How hard is it to go get the appropriate travel materials for NorthEastern US and South Eastern Canada when you are in Massachusetts? Hopefully other branches still offer better services. read more

5/10/ 18 License renewals beware! I attempted to use the AAA location in South Dennis for a license renewal as I had done in past years. The wait was reasonable for the size of the crowd, and I had done the application on line to hopefully expedite the process. Then came the vision test. The one and only exam machine was extremely difficult to get a proper position and angle in front of, and I wasn't even close to being able to read the required letters (or numbers, who knew) I was therefore failed. I decided at this point I'd best have my eyes professionally examined because I had not had one in several years, and, because I had done so poorly, was worried about my vision. The only glasses I wear are "cheaters" to read at 1.75. As I scrambled all over the cape It proved impossible to get an appointment from an insurance approved provider on such short notice, because I only had 2 days before my license expired. I therefore had to pay for an extensive, professional 1.5 hour eye exam out of my own pocket and, guess what? THERE WAS NOTHING INDICATED FROM MY VISION EXAM THAT RESTRICTED ME IN ANY WAY FROM OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE DAY OR NIGHT! NO GLASSES WERE REQUIRED. The doctor filled out the required form for the registry. Glad about the outcome, but beyond mad about AAA South Dennis. I took the exam report with me to the Registry and was quickly given my license without a vision test. AAA; GET A NEW MACHINE OR AN ADDITIONAL MACHINE, FIX THE ONE YOU HAVE, OR STOP GIVING VISION TESTS! read more

This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had dealing with license renewal. Waited three hours to have a very unpleasant woman yell at me and after I proved her wrong she only got more upset. Will never return or do business there again canceling membership. read more

I went in to the Dennis AAA to have my license renewed today and when I took the eye test the machine was impossible to read even though my vision is 20-20. They gave me a form to have filled out by my eye doctor (who tested my eyes about 10 weeks ago) and once I get that done I can get my drivers license. Unfortunately in the meanwhile I don't have a valid license. They told me I shouldn't drive! So how am I supposed to get the form to my eye doctor? And get home? Better to just go to the RMV in the first place. I don't think AAA is as quick and nice as it used to be. I waited at least a half an hour before they helped me. I don't advise going to this office to get your license. read more

Called triple a at 11:30pm last night because I had a flat tire at the welfleet drive in, they said they would have somebody there as soon as possible but they couldn't come in until the move was over (understandable). So at 12:35am we called again to check in and the person on the phone said their driver was on route, would be there by latest 1:01am. So we waited and they still weren't there so we called again at 1:06am, and the woman on the phone said "oh we don't send drivers out that way, sorry". So after we had called two times already and were told there was somebody on the way, they then said no we can't help you. I live in Yarmouth and we had my 10y/o brother with us. So they called the police station for us and the police came and helped us. One Police officer went to his HOUSE, TWO SEPARATE TIMES to get his PERSONAL tools to help us. Unfortunately the lug nuts would not come off very easily so that was a struggle. Took us a very very long Time to find the right size tools, kept having to go and look in the drive in bay. The worker stayed there with us as well as the police officers, we were there until 3:30am trying to get my stupid tire off. Finally I called and had my brother in law (with a newborn) come and get us but when he got there we had already had the tire off and changed. Got home around 4:30am. Had triple A just said at 11:30 when we called, that they don't have anybody to come out, that would have been fine and I get it, and I would have had my brother in law come and help us at 11:30. But we were stuck stranded an hour away from home, in the middle of the night. Why did we pay for triple A if we can't use it? read more

3 visits and I finally got my license renewed. 1st visit: I brought my original birth certificate, social security card, w-2, and a pay stub as my four forms of id. They would not accept my birth certificate because It did not have a raised seal. This visit took 1.5 hours. Got a new birth certificate from vital records. 2nd visit: waited 1.5 hrs to have my documents inspected, then I was told to wait until my name was called. 1.5 hrs later, I sat down with the woman who was supposed to process my paperwork, give me the eye-exam and take my photo. She looked at my documents and told me that my name on my birth certificate did not match my current name so I would need a marriage license to prove I am who I am. This is not mentioned on the website, and the guy at the counter had already inspected my documents. I was pretty angry at this point, especially since the woman told me my judgement was off because I didn't bring a marriage license. I said let's just renew the license and forget about the "Real ID". Then she had me attempt to take an eye exam. Now I found out why the man in front of me was complaining that he could not see anything in the lens. The machine was in very bad shape. I could see the numbers down the side, but everything in the center of the lens was not legible. I have perfect vision, yet she wanted to fail me on the vision test. WTF! Made the trip to South Yarmouth RMV. Presented the same documents, (no request for a marriage license) passed my eye exam with flying colors, and was out of there in 1.5 hrs. Should have gone to South Yarmouth in the first place. read more
