Have not had an AAA membership in a long time. I remember going to get maps with my dad when I was little. Finally got a membership this year and went to the local physical location to vet some tour books and maps! Sometimes it's just more fun this easy instead of hiding behind a screen. Everyone was very friendly and showed me ask te different amenities offered, which includes copying service and notary! The key offerings though include services for travel, insurance, discounts, and printed maps!! You can even do DMV related services at some locations. I got ask the help I needed and try made sure Ib was aware of programs where I could earn AAA dollars to go towards my next year's renewal. AAA had definitely changed over the years, but the core services, offerings, and customer service have not changed. read more

Jan 1 2023 - received letter from AAA stating that my policy will be terminated due to the age of my roof. Jan 31, 2023 - spoke to AAA agent in regards to the inspection report that we received when we purchased the house 2 years prior, which stated the roof had 11 years more of useful life. Jan 31, 2023 - Sent AAA the 4 Point inspection we had on our home for review. They said they needed to send them documents to the underwriter. Feb 2, 2023 - I sent an email asking for a status of the underwriter's review, in which they replied stating "They have denied the request to lift the non-renewal stating: the insured must obtain a roof inspection from Inspection Depot, this is the only acceptable documentation being accepted." Feb 3, 2023 - Called Inspection Depot to schedule an appointment for an inspection, in which they stated would cost $150. They scheduled the appointment for Feb 15. Mar 7, 2023 - I called inspection depot, because I didn't hear anything from them to get the status of the report. In which they sent the report and stated that it would be sent to AAA for review. May 1, 2023 - Tried to log into my AAA account to pay and there was a message stating it was not active. I called AAA, and they said the account was terminated because the roof didn't have 3 or more years left. I asked about the auto insurance, in which they stated, since it was bundled the entire policy was terminated. I called AAA and asked if they could at least continue the auto policy and they said it had already lapsed and gave me a quote for progressive, which was double the amount that we are paying now. I have been a member of AAA almost as long as I have been driving. Requesting complimentary maps and tips for trips I do not use anymore because of technology, but travel discounts at various businesses are always something to get a least a little excited about. Lately I have had to use roadside services for a lock out and towing service. I was so thrilled both issues were taken care of without a fee to pay. With four roadside services a year allowed with the plan I have, I still have about 2 more mess up opportunities before I renew again. My visit to this location was to obtain an International drivers permit. Super easy and affordable to obtain--just bring your license and money. The process took about 30 minutes in total, and I walked out with permit in hand. First of all, thank you to Chris W. for reminding me that I had yet to review this Carrollwood business, and politely encouraging to get off my lazy butt and start typing.... I remember as a young kid that my Dad would always take me with him to the neighborhood AAA office whenever we were planning our summer vacations. Dad would sit there with an agent and plot out the best routes to take, and we would leave the office with a stack of maps and travel books. Then we would climb into our station wagon and start chugging our way across the country to visit various family members and tour the national parks. It was a lot like Chevy Chase in "National Lampoon's Vacation". We were off in search of Marty Moose at Walley World! After I bought my first car, my parents bought me a membership to AAA, and I learned first-hand about the benefits of their roadside assistance program thanks to more than one dead battery. My Dad told me that the best money I could spend on my car was my AAA membership and regular oil changes. Fast forward to today and I still maintain my AAA membership and depend upon their helpful service technicians and recommendations for auto body and repair shops in the area. I have also learned to depend upon AAA discounts for amusement park and attraction discounts, as well as discounts on hotels and rental cars when I travel. I know that this location has a DMV office on-site where I can renew my driver's license with a minimum of fuss, and they have also provided me information about AAA discounted auto insurance and some options for purchasing new and used cars. Seems as though there is a lot about the benefits of being a AAA member that I've not yet fully realized, but I need to quit acting like Clark Griswold and stop singing "Holiday Road" when I'm behind the wheel, (which by the way was written and performed by Fleetwood Mac's guitarist, Lindsey Buckingham). My AAA membership gives me peace of mind about getting help when I have car problems. Throughout the year AAA discounts either end up paying for my yearly membership or they make it dirt cheap. I'm happy with either of those. You'd be surprised at the places where you can save money with your AAA membership. For example, at the Ellenton Outlet mall if you go to the customer service desk and show your AAA card you'll get a flier that lists all of the discounts you can get at stores. I saved fifteen dollars on my last visit. I came to this location to renew my Disney annual pass. Compared to what it would cost me to renew at a Disney Park I saved twenty five dollars and the process couldn't have been simpler. The AAA representative was able to pull up my AAA account, verify my Disney renewal status, and take my payment in minutes. I also had a great experience with their roadside assistance recently. A few months ago I had a cold and was going to drive to the drugstore for some cough medicine. When I went outside I discovered that I had a flat tire. The last thing I wanted to do at that point was anything car related. Because of my AAA membership I was able to place a call and have someone show up surprisingly fast. He offered me a bottle of cold water and then proceeded to put my spare tire on my car. He even put my flat tire in a large plastic bag so that my trunk wouldn't get dirty. The one thing that I find irritating about AAA is the hours of their offices. They're only open until 5:30pm on weekdays and aren't open at all on weekends. That is so frustratingly inconvenient if I want to go there to buy theme park tickets/passes. read more

I never thought I'd be reviewing AAA, but my experience was so good, I felt like I had to. I've been meaning to join AAA for awhile now since my car is getting older, but it took the incentive of getting discount tickets for Universal and Island of Adventure to motivate me enough to follow through. Because my time frame was short, I went in to the office to get tickets instead of ordering online. This office location is big and bright. A woman at the front counter greeted me immediately, listened to my needs, and directed me to the cashier for assistance. The cashier was super friendly, and after I explained what I wanted, was able to immediately start the process to get me registered and ticketed. I was pleased to find out that the fees in office are the same as they are online. The cashier explained the differences in membership, but there was no hard sell. Plus, for an additional $35, I was able to purchase the same coverage for my motorcycle. The cashier was extremely knowledgeable and efficient, and it struck me as I walked out that it seems to be the exception these days, and not the norm, which is why I was so pleasantly surprised by it. I walked out of there in under 15 minutes with a temporary AAA card and a pass to get my actual tickets at the park kiosk. And I was able to give my BF a discount on his yearly membership for recommending me to AAA. FYI - The discount for 1-day amusement park passes is minimal, but it does increase when you purchase multi-day passes. Here I come Harry Potter! read more

These guys are either incompetent, dishonest or both. When my prior insurance company stopped providing homeowners policies in Tampa, I thought I'd try AAA since I'd been a loyal AAA auto customer for over 20 years. However, they strung me along for weeks on a policy, had me spend $300 on a "required" inspection, promised every day for a week to get my policy bound "today", and then left me uninsured during a hurricane! I thought I just had a bad agent (Wael Bugazia - the self-proclaimed #2 agent in the state of FL), but after trying repeatedly to escalate the issue and file a complaint with their leadership, it's clear that they have no intention of ever calling me back either. I am not an AAA member, but I received an unsolicited offer to apply for life insurance in the mail. I almost threw it away (I hate marketing material in the mail, but not as much as robo calls to my cell!) and then I noted the terms they were offering for "Term" Life Insurance. Just so happens, I have a term policy expiring through John Hancock soon. I looked at the process and the VERY streamlined process to purchase insurance and thought I'd give it a try. I went on-line and had the best experience I have every received with any insurance product. I was through the application and approval process within 10 minutes! $250K for 15 years. I am so pleased with the above, I will likely become a AAA Member (I think I also receive a discount of my life insurance that will almost cover the cost of the basic AAA membership). I would HIGHLY recommend anyone looking for term insurance for 10-30 years and up to $250K, to go try out AAA. I had an appointment, and signed in, not realizing that I had to talk to the (missing for some reason) sales harpy. After two people who were walkins got served I realized I needed to say someting to (now returned) sales harpy who realized she screwed up and suddenly worked the waiting area to ameliorate her gaffe. Once served, it was fine, but as a AAA member, I am terribly disappointed that I got passed over due to her lack of diligence. read more

I had to go in to renew my driver's license this. I was annoyed when I realized I couldn't do it online (don't ask me why?) so I decided to make an appointment at one of the local DMV offices. I had to run another errand up in Carrollwood, so I decided to visit this AAA location to take care of bidness. My appointment was for 3:45 (on a Tuesday). I arrived around 3:30 and walked in. There were about 6 people waiting. I checked in with the man sitting at the desk that said "appointments". I signed in and yes, he did offer me a AAA membership, however, he only asked once and I politely declined. No big deal at all. There is a BIG sign that says "Appointments check in". You cannot miss it. Two people were called ahead of me, but there were 3 attendants on duty, so I only waited 2 Candy Crush Rounds (less than 5 minutes for those of you who aren't consumed with this addiction). After a few questions, a new picture, payment and printing, I was out of there at 3:50. 3 years with AAA Insurance 10+ years with road side service. Never a problem with road side service. BUT insurance is the worst. After reporting I was hit from behind on the drivers side ( rear tire area) going 55mph on 275 in my own lane going home. I was denied by Geico, driver that hit me said we were both merging into the same lane- not true. AAA did not fight for me AAA TOLD ME THEY DID NOT NEED PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE. I was told it's a "she said he said" situation. I could pay my deductible of $500 get it repaired and then have my insurance go up for the next three years. My policy was up for renewal, $2448. Per year. new policy same coverage same deductible $1,300. a year. I called AAA and asked why the huge difference- (before policy was up, shopping around) they said it was the car facts. I explained that the another local company gets the same information. I was told by AAA " let me get someone who might be able to better explain it to me. After 23 minutes on hold was was disconnected. Recalled, again explain why I was calling and again was put on hold only to be disconnected. My agent was Bradly Murray. AAA Insurance will take your money for years but not interested in helping you fight for your rights, they didn't even want to see my car or pictures. They actually called me after my policy had been cancelled to verify my address, and when I asked if everything else was fine with my account, they told me it was great! This may sound odd but I was recently approved for a car loan on a 2015 LaCrosse thru AAA Auto Finance. Gee, I never knew AAA did auto loans. Anyway, I contacted the office in St. Petersburg and was connected to Diane Sarbone. Wow. It barely took any work and I was approved the next day. She waited over 10 days for me to find a car. When I did I contacted her. She spoke with the Dealership and everything was handled by fax and email. The Dealership delivered the car to me in Orlando ( I found it at Rivard Buick in Tampa) and the next day I went to my local AAA office here and signed the loan docs. Thanks Diane for saving me the $395 for a loan option I really didn't need. Oh, by the way, I got the best deal on my interest rate. The dealership could not beat it. Wow...and if I hadn't opened my AAA mail that came recently I would have never known that they handled auto loans. read more

I have been a AAA gold member for coming up on 2 years. Before me my grandfather was a AAA gold member for many years, and we have never received worse service from AAA than we have here in carrolwood. They employ the sleaziest towing company (Raphael AAA towing) that refused to bring my vehicle to the address I provided and brought it to their tow yard. When I asked if there was a charge for the tow yard, both drivers told me no, and I could leave it there until I made arrangements to retrieve the car and I have a witness on the phone. When I finally arrived to take the car away, the blocked my car in using a tow truck and tried to scam me out of 325 dollars. I had called their dispatcher several times and received no answer or returned call from the voicemails that I left, and there was no other number available to be called. Information was withheld from me and now I've gotten my lawyer involved because they settled with me for 300 dollars when they don't even have any set rates, the story kept changing the more I called insurance, police, and my lawyer. If you can help it, don't use AAA carrolwood, all they did was talk in circles with the place and got absolutely nothing done to assist me. I've purchased full coverage on my insurance which includes roadside assistance, so I'll be thinking twice about renewing my AAA membership in the future if this is how I'll be treated. read more

Let me tell you about last night. It all started with an alternator going out. So I called my AAA motor service at 930 pm. After his arrival at 11 pm we loaded my car and we're going to leave when he tells me that he can't allow my dog into his truck. Only service animals are allowed in the truck he says and asked if I had ID that would allow Delilah to ride. It just so happens I do. But many of you Do NOT and travel with your fur friend offen with your AAA card thinking all will be alright if I get stranded. So please be aware and maybe look for a road service that likes pets as much as you do. read more

We give all of our children and their wives AAA membership each year for Christmas. It is normally a hassle because they live all over the US. One of my sons just moved to the Tampa area. We had to change his and his wife's membership from KS. We have had problems in the past with children moving and AAA transferring their membership. BUT not this time. The agent at the tampa AAA office made the paperwork fly through, even put the cards in a Christmas envelope. He is also giving them information about getting their son covered with his own card when he turns 16 (a couple of weeks away). I'm sorry I don't have the agent name, at this time, but I wish all States had service like you have in the Tampa area. read more
