Florida Currency Exchange popped up and I ventured to find their location in International Mall. I knew there may be a slight chance they didn't carry Moroccan Dirham. They only exchange American dollars for foreign currency. They do not exchange foreign coins. I REPEAT, THEY DO NOT EXCHANGE FOREIGN MONEY. They only buy foreign money (this includes euros and pounds!!) by the pound (wtf) which is total thievery and not worth the exchange. Good experience and competitive pricing. The gentleman behind the counter was polite, matched the same day best pricing for "buying Euros", and we quickly got our cash in the denominations desired. Overall great! Checked with Chase later that day and the pricing here was better, and chase must be ordered in advance. We used them on trip to Europe September 2019 on recommendation from an acquaintance. Both ends of trip, they were rude, unclear in explanations and difficult to deal with and not hospitable. Heading to Colombia for a trip and just checked their rates. For 1 US dollar they give you currently, $2,977.08 Colombian pesos minu $5 fee. I checked current rate is $3,448.28. I checked rate at Tampa International, and even with their up front disclosed fee of 2.5%, exchange rate is $3,279.55. Do not use International Currency Exchange or Tampa Currency Exchange unless you have checked other places first. I appreciate the rep from business reaching out. I want to also mention that even the process of returning coins for exchange upon return, the person was less than forthcoming about the fact that they weighed the coins and gave you a rate far less when in particular you are exchanging euros for dollars. The acted irritated that I questioned it and asked for a return of the change. Maybe Countryside is sn anomaly, but I find that when employees act that way, it's lack of training and/or company climate or poor employee engagement. Years back I was a sales manager and had to recareer from the bottom working three crappy jobs at once. I treated them all like they were the most important job in the world and found great success eventually. Maybe it was the millennials working those jobs who thought they deserved better, but both had same attitude on both ends of my exchange. So, something to consider. read more
