By far the worst AAA branch I've visited. Super unfriendly atmosphere, and staff that were untrained and unwilling to help. I went to the Pleasant Hill branch immediately following my visit here, and they got my registration solved in 15 minutes. SKIP THIS BRANCH IF YOU WANT TO GET ANYTHING DONE. I don't know what happened to AAA but I was a loyal customer for over 30 years. I had issues with them in the past which I looked over because I didn't want to have to look for another insurance company. This time was the last straw. I had my account payment set up automatically. I was checking our joint account and they didn't take out our payment last month. Yup no insurance. If we got in an accident it would have been awful and our fault! No apology or explanation. Well today I did have to spend a bit of time but found another insurance for both our cars and our home. Same for our home, better for our cars and roadside assistance with a savings of 600.00 a year. I guess things happen for a reason. Thanks AAA! read more

Amazing! I came in here the other day to help my parents out with some dmv related documents but they didn't want to deal with dmv lines. The people who work here were super informative and helped answer every question my parents had and then some. I can't recommend this place enough, we were in and out in less than 15 minutes. I'll definitely keep this place in mind for my dmv needs in the future. Unfortunately they don't do everything but they do quite a bit! Highly recommend this location! read more

I've had 4 issues with AAA this year and I've been a member since 2000 , in the pictures you'll see a picture of my membership card stating this . Issues 1. While receiving roadside service none of the service vehicles were equipped to jumpstart my truck due to a dead battery. 2. My other truck went into the body shop after being rear ended and after receiving the truck it still had the air bag light on . The claims adjuster did not want to address this issue and thought it was ok leaving me with a truck that was considered totaled . 3. When I canceled my roadside service portion of my membership, they wouldn't refund my money back even though the service they provided was insufficient and I had to wait for my employee to come jumpstart my truck . 4. I went into the Walnut Creek branch to finish a title transfer . They stated I need to do it on the computer . Even though there were employees sitting down with no customers. I've never had issues with AAA before . I'm canceling all services and letting my credit card companies recover the funds . read more

I recently stopped by to get some travel maps. I had to wait for someone ahead of me, no problem. When it was my turn next, the woman at the "check in " desk asked me for a list of what I wanted and then said I could have a seat and she would bring me the maps. I said " I'm ok standing". Within ONE MINUTE she had 3 of them. Then several more people walked into the office and she's, like, "l have to check them in BEFORE I can get you the rest of the maps ". I'm, like, no way am I going to wait for some indeterminate number of people to get checked in before I get the maps I'd already waited in line for. Like, really, how many more seconds would it take to check if she had the others??? I'm sure she was doing her job as it was explained to her but I found the entire experience extremely distasteful. We had called and they said we do not need an appointment for an out-of-state inspection on a vehicle. We went in around 12 PM and were told the guy is on lunch so we waited an hour came back at 1 PM. the guy says we need an appointment and they don't have one until Monday at 3 PM, very furious because a Tesla requires almost no work literally the Vin number being written on a piece of paper we went to the Concord DMV and literally it took 30 seconds as I knew it would take. The guy up front at AAA said there's more to it. Nope. Useless morons at this AAA branch!! read more

This used to be a great branch office when they were located in Downtown Walnut Creek at Plaza Escuela. Since this office moved to the Encina Grande Shopping Center, both the re-location and the effects of the pandemic have resulted in less than the standard AAA customer service experience. The space is smaller than the previous location, and now there is an employee sitting at a kiosk taking customers' names and reason for the visit to access DMV services or AAA services. Agents seem to have less availability than before and a longer lead time for follow up. There are also fewer DMV associates available at the DMV counter. I was told this is due to pandemic protocols. It appears that a lot of AAA communication can, and is, done via the 800 number, AAA website, or AAA app, which might also explain the reduction in on site services. read more

Long story but he spent over an hour with me recently , undoing what was a pretty big issue with my car, that had been accidentally non opped by someone at a different branch. It was a Friday and I was about to head out of town for Memorial Day weekend and I was highly stressed (terrible timing of course). Andy was so nice and patient and did what he needed to do to reverse this honest mistake that was made (I have 2 of the same car, same year and color). I called the office yesterday morning looking to see if they had a car seat technician on staff. The gentleman who answered the phone informed me that service is no longer provided as it is only done online, that is false as my mother had one installed at her location in Sacramento. I informed him of that and he transferred me to the front desk to which I was left on hold so long that I was sent to the main call center. I informed them that I needed to speak with someone at the office, I tried again and went straight back to call center. So this operator said she'd transfer me directly to an agent. Guess what? I got her voicemail. I left a message in hopes she'd contact me back promptly. Nope. I received a phone call after 5 pm this evening. Over 24 hours after leaving the message. In the meantime, I called and found out the CHP does the installation. I also, called all other AAA offices in my area and they promptly answered my question, either there technician was on vacation or at the moment they didn't have one on staff and were helpful in giving options for places that could help me. Extremely disappointed in the lack of timely manner to which my call was returned or knowledge of staff. read more

OMG - I am so glad that I am not alone in experiencing terrible service at this AAA branch. The other one star reviews are absolutely correct. I have gone here on three occasions since they moved to Ygnacio - just two blocks from my home. Each visit was met with unfriendly people that made it feel I was bothering them by coming into the branch. My son was with me the last time and he was astonished with the way the woman behind the counter treated us. On each occasion, I want to the Pleasant Hill branch and accomplished what I needed with friendly, kind, and knowledgeable help. The contrast was like black and white. I don't even bother going to the WC location anymore. Just went to Pleasant Hill yesterday and again had a wonderful friendly visit. Walnut Creek AAA should visit the other branch to see how well things can be run - not for me because I will always use the Pleasant Hill location, but other customers should be treated well too. read more

When I first started driving, my goal was to become a AAA member... maps, travel tips, guide books, inexpensive insurance... what more can you ask for. Well, then I learned that they don't take members without an existing insurance history, hence my first vehicle was insured by Allstate. Then after getting qualified and doing a price comparison, I became a longtime AAA insured customer and, of course, a AAA member. These days, with GPS and various map applications who needs maps anymore. I also enjoy reading their monthly Via magazine for travel tips. The membership provides three tows or emergency service visits per year. Unfortunately, my last vehicle was a Schlep Rock (love my Flintstones) car as Bay Area drivers treated it as a bumper car target. I used up all my 2016-17 service calls so, when my brother's van wouldn't start, I used his membership card to make that call. The service person arrived as scheduled, about an hour after my call to their 800 #. He checked the battery level (new as replaced by them a few months ago) and jump started it. Letting it run for about fifteen minutes to recharge the battery, he noticed where I hung the smart key. Noticing its close proximity, he advised me to move the key in another room as the vehicle continues communicating with the key even when parked and in the off position. He suspected this was the cause of the battery drain. Five stars to the service person for being observant and educating me on how to prevent this from happening again. Since I called the 800 #, didn't quite know who to credit so this goes to their Northern California headquarters. read more

CSAA Battery replacement has so many restrictions it is of no use. We bought a battery from them and it has failed. They came out and jumped it and advised there was an issue with the car not the battery and to see a mechanic. Well it's dead again and we can't jump it. The mechanic says it's dead and won't hold a charge. Beware, The warranty is only good if you are a member. They do not let you exchange for a new battery unless you are a member. We renewed the membership had them come out to exchange but they would not. I spent $180 for a battery that is dead and membership service that is not service and a warranty that has no value. If I had bought from Pep Boys I could at least exchange it for a new one. If I could give ZERO stars I would. read more

The week in October of the "CA DMV Catastrophic Hardware Failure" -- I called first - and was told there was NO line so buzzed out there right away to registered the newest motorcycle that hopefully will not be stolen (again). When I arrived - there were two women working the customer service area, and one woman was dealing with a very time consuming patron. Finally, a third woman arrived and the line grew longer. The Time Consuming Patron had showed up in person to ask for trip planning -- usually, I think it is considerate to phone in those requests for lengthy and complicated trips (think Bay Area to Florida with specific stops). The Time Consuming Patron INSISTED that she get every guide book for every state and metro -- and the poor AAA rep came back with two armloads of books (which Time Consuming Patron will probably never look at) and then Time Consuming Patron insisted that - in addition to the TripTik - that the AAA rep go over ALL the maps and highlight the route with a highlighter. In Real Time. When I finally got to the desk, the other two women were really busting out the DMV requests - I asked how long that other woman had been with Time Consuming Patron. My AAA rep didn't respond and just sighed - I asked "Has she even had lunch yet?" "Nope." On the way out - I asked the other AAA rep "Have a good day - did you get your lunch break yet?" To which she responded "Nope, not yet!" and I said "be careful, you might end up with a chauffeur gig!" (we had previously chatted in passing - Time Consuming Patron was soliciting information from EVERYONE in line - oh to be a privileged 70 year old white woman in Walnut Creek where everyone is your servant!). It is a credit that this AAA rep was dealing with the Time Consuming Patron for well over an hour and had not yet been able to take a lunch break but at what point do you say "Please come back tomorrow and we'll have this all ready for you in a package and walk you through it" so you can get people out the door who are a) not retired; b) have to file legal documentation before deadlines still being enforced despite CA DMV Catastrophic Hardware Failure of 10/16? It's a nice office, no problems with parking and everyone there is as efficient as you'll let them be -- just don't be abusive of their time when there are a lot of people waiting (they do take appointments for travel planning!) read more

I had the worst experience with the staff at this location. I took the day off work and made an appointment to register my car. While waiting I saw the agent was just sitting there sipping on his drink while my name was up on the monitor; but he was too busy to take me and I knew right away this is going to turn sour and sure enough, his laziness unreasonably refused to take my payment and once I ask to speak to a supervisor he had me sit there for a long while waiting..... on three occasions I ask the lady up front where Mr. Oscar the supervisor is, and she kept on promising that he is coming. Well, he didn't... I walked off and drove to the Pleasant Hill branch office where the staff was friendly kind and professional. without any issue, they process my payment, issued my sticker and I was out in 6 minutes. I then called the AAA headquarters to address my concerns. The caller created a case and a week has gone by without anyone reaching out to me. I think AAA and their staff need a reminder of where their salaries are coming from. Assisting a client and taking extra initiative in resolving simple issues is what sets a growing company apart from a dying one. Not sure why this branch deserves a Star read more

Everything is "2 Second's" and then they make you wait in one line and then it's the WRONG line and they make you go to another one for another "2 Second" service while in the meantime, a whole bunch of people come in and you now have to wait in original line again.
