I contacted A Aaron on Thursday, August 27 when our washer agitator did not work. We had a visit by Lou on Monday, August 31. I showed him that the center of the agitator was stripped. He said that was not the problem. He said the 'dogs' were probably the problem. It was not. I had earlier replaced them and it did not fix the problem. He checked with the new 'dogs' that I bought and agreed that this did not fix it. He left saying that it needed a washer or gasket. He came back the next day, unknown to me. Replaced something- the receipt says put agitator dogs in (we knew this would not fix it). He left a bill for $99.50 in labor, $59 service call and $20 for parts. This totaled $174.70 with tax to replace the 'dogs' that did not need replacing. I had earlier bought the 'dogs' for $4.59 at St. Matthews Hardware. My parts disappeared. I have still not found them. We paid our bill by credit card the day of the service. Needless to say the next time we used the washer the soap was not dissolved, the clothes were not clean and the agitator loosened up again. I called back and was told that Lou could look at it again on some date. I had lost confidence in Lou so I asked for another service technician. David was here on Wednesday, September 16. He agreed that the stripped agitator was the problem and one could be ordered and installed. I asked what the charge would be since at this point I had already spent $174.50 and had no improvement. He said that I could work that out with Brittany, the office manager. I spoke with Brittany on Friday, September 18. She said she would talk with Lou and David and then the owner and get back to me on Monday, September 21. She did not call back. Instead I spoke with Bill who was very pleasant and helpful but unable to answer my questions. I finally got in touch with Brittany on September 22. I pointed out that I had originally called for service on August 27 and it is now over 3 1/2 weeks later and we still have not gotten the washer fixed. I have paid $174.50 for the first repair which we knew would not fix the problem. While she waived some of the charges, she still expected another $22. It should not take this long. It should not take repeated phone calls. My follow up should have been scheduled with some priority since the first repair did not fix the problem. Brittany should have honored her promise to communicate with me on September 21 . I asked that she speak with the owner, Sherri, and see what could be done. When she called me back, A Aaron's solution was to refund my money and not fix the washer. She said she would be sending a technician into a 'hostile environment' There was no hostility. I just want my washer fixed and it should not take this long. All they have done is waste my time and theirs. Their initial repair by Lou was a joke. I wanted to deal with an ethical company that would fix the washer properly the first time. If that did not fix it, give some priority to customers who will need a second visit to correctly identify the real problem. It should never have taken this long. I tried to get them to come out and install the agitator they ordered for my machine but they would not do this. I had many empty promises and a very bad first impression. An ethical company would not abandon a customer as they have after they strung them along for over 3 1/2 weeks.
