I was on empty so every penny was going to count. At the time, the cheapest was at about $6.54 a gallon. So, finding this gem of a price was heaven sent. While pumping gas, I was taken by surprise by a woman, as she was returning to her van after pumping her gas. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that she was hollering at the top of her lungs...." THE CHEAPEST GAS! THE CHEAPEST GAS!" I thought it was the funniest thing but it just goes to show you what joy this gas station brought to those that night. Thank you!

Because he proceeded to lie and at random claim that he refuses to service me because I "interrupted his conversation" (actually admitting he was just chatting away) of course I made a call and as I was stepping outside he still had the audacity to follow me outside the store minutes after the door was closed behind he proceed to instigate me while I was on the phone with dispatchers because no I have actually shopped at this store prior no problem. Hence a cashier who proceeds to follow you once you left out the store is clearly a danger in addition to claiming you're the supposed issue clearly is lying and honestly providing the worst customer service. From an individual who has actually dealt with customers being racist and demanding--me asking him to please ring me up should not have been an issue at all. I shouldn't even have to request a cashier do his actually job. Mind he's complaining about being there till midnight? Some of us get up as early as four am grind go to school take care of our families and go to sleep after midnight no complaints. I did a quick Google Maps search. This Exxon popped up a half-mile away and looked good enough. I guess one can consider this the outskirts of downtown Monterey. This is a small Exxon station (eight pumps) at a fairly busy intersection. Due to the limited space, it wasn't the easiest place to pull up to a pump. A big pickup truck was taking up two spaces by itself. I had to reverse next to pump #7 to fill up. The price for regular ($5.459/gal) was expensive, but that was expected. The pump was in good condition and my receipt printed clearly. There was a food truck on-site, next to the Food Mart. I think they were selling bubble tea, IIRC, among other things.

Without saying anything and ignoring what I already said about I had checked the oil, he walked out and I opened the hood and he pulled the dipstick out as I said yeah I already have done that and then went inside and got the 2 quarts that I had already put on the counter. He poured them quickly in and then put air in three of the tires and all of this took about three minutes total. He then proceeded to charge me $25 for that! Absolutely appalling and terrible business practice and honestly just rude on top of everything. To ignore a 69-year-old woman that way and then rip her off was disgusting at best. I will never go back there and I honestly suspect he has had friends/family and locals put these reviews in because he absolutely does not deserve them. I have never been charged for air pressure over the years and I've also never had somebody ignore that I am perfectly capable of pouring the oil in myself and pushing ahead and then slamming me with a $25 bill.
