This place is a godsend. After a few weeks here in PG, our car needed a wash, but we don't do regular car washes because we don't want micro-scratches. So off to this do-it-yourself place we went. It costs $1 per minute to use the sprayers, so you need to work quickly. The machine takes bills (but doesn't give change) and cards. We were to afraid to swipe our card in this outdoor machine, so we paid $10 for 8 minutes of the sprayer. We followed the instructions on which spray cycles to use (it's very simple and self-explanatory using their signage). We didn't come equipped with towels, which would've been ideal, but no matter. Our car still got clean for the most part, and it was with the $10. We will use this option again, but will bring towels next time. Note that the auto dryer is out of service. They also have vacuums you can use for a fee (we didn't). read more

Came here to wash my car and overall had a poor experience. When I was washing my car, the car waiting behind me continued to pull in closer and closer to my car until they were about a foot or so from me as I washed my car. As they moved closer, they were yelling at me from inside of their car to "hurry up" as I washed my car. When I was drying my car, I had my all weather mats sitting next to my car drying. As I washed drying my car, somebody literally stole my car mats as I washed drying my car. Unfortunately I did not realize until after they were gone. I tried to reach out to the phone number listed to see if there was footage of the car/person who took my car mats and I was not able to reach anybody. The car wash itself was fine, but my overall experience was beyond poor. There doesn't seem to be any kind of oversight or staff on site so proceed with caution. read more

For my Monterey car week people, not only do they actually have all the soaps including the foam(rare) they are open 24/7. Very consistent and allows you to use card as payment. This spot definitely will be useful for my last minute car wash people or last minute quick detail for those Monterey pictures. read more

$10 for a simple wash? I swiped my card and it took $10 which is a lot compared to any other self serve car wash I've ever been to. From reading the other Yelp reviews this happens a lot, where the card gets charged twice. Total rip off if the faulty machines are the ones at fault. read more

I went here at 4 am needing to wash my car after a long road trip for a car event in the area. I paid and the pressure washer came on which I used to water down the car. Afterwards I grabbed the suds soaker but I couldn't figure out how to turn it on. There weren't any instructions anywhere. Same with the long brush. By the time I looked at the timer I only had 2 minutes left. I desperately searched for anything that could turn on the suds nozzle. I pushed the button on the credit card swipe thinking that was it. Nope. It shut everything off leaving me puzzled at what just happened. I didn't want to pay again only to still have no idea how to work things. Better instructions need to be posted on site. I'm guessing that people who did manage to turn the suds nozzle on probably learned from other past users on site. I can't say I recommend this place. read more

Total scam car wash.. Their machines are supposed to charge you based on how long you use the wash, however it'll max out your card for $15.00 regardless of how long you washed your car. I also used the vacuum that said $2.00 and they charged my card $10.00. They no longer take quarters either and i am guessing this is why. Must be much more profitable ripping off tons of people that forgot to check how much they were actually charged. I would stay far away form this crooked establishment. For the record, i used this car wash about a year ago and thought it was my mistake and that maybe i forgot turn the knob to off when i was done so this time i absolutely made sure i turned the knob off and i was max charged once again. Luckily i disputed the charge with my bank and got my money back, but how many people do they pull a fast one on? I bet alot! read more

This place sucks. Years ago you could use quarters in the machines and scrub away. I could wash my truck by hand for 4$ because you could get it all done and it was like a game to see how fast I could wash it. Not anymore! They DO NOT take American coins issued by the Federal Reserve and I would bet theres some law that states they have to accept coins but regardless they now are plastic only! That's right, it's a new idea that they hope will generate nearly double their profits. You see most people will swipe their card then start washing. As you get really into cleaning your car you'll kinda forget how much it's really costing you because there's no beep, no full stop, no need to insert additional quarters, ya just keep washing your car and when it's done, you might forget to push the little button with a green light. Yep, to stop being charged you have to find a green lit button to stop. The first time you use this car wash location that's plastic only, it will cost you the same price to wash your own car as you could have paid to have someone else do it. That's right, YOU hand wash your car for 15$ or go down the street and pay the same to have someone else hand wash your car? Avoid this location. They are desperate to take your money, so much so that they hope you'll never notice. Avoid this location and go get a real cash wash by professionals who also guarantee their work for the same price. read more

Had a bad experience at the Monterey branch today (July 12, 2023) at ~ 4:30 pm. My method of washing is high pressure rinse, high pressure soap then high pressure rinse. No brush. At the left most bay the rinse cycle was low pressure as if there was air in the line. There was also noise coming from the equipment room to my left. The charge was ~ $7.83. None of the credit card swipes was working which is a problem when they no longer take card. Luckily I had 6 bucks cash so I was able to pay for a quick rinse and vacuum. Unfortunately when I went to use the vacuum, the housing under the vacuum machine was broken so it didn't suck anything up. After realizing the problem I tried my best to close the door and got maybe 50 percent suction but had wasted about 30 seconds and got only 75 percent of my car done. Maybe if the card swipe worked I would have had more time, but again, this one was broken as well. Now I'm worried these things were messed with so better keep an eye on the card statements!! read more

Awful car wash. I paid $15 to get my feet soaked and a subpar car wash. The spray nozzle wasn't attached all the way, but since my card was already charged, I just went for it anyways. The hose leaked all over my shoes & pants. Scrub brush was way too soft to do anything besides spread foam all over your car which at most offers the illusion of your car being "washed". You're better off going to a drive through car was for a few bucks cheaper (where you actually get access to vacuuming at no extra cost, unlike this place). Buddy and I from Bakersfield went to buy a car up in Salinas, rather than drive home that night we slept in Monterey. I despise car washes with brushes so I saw this across the street from hotel and was elated. True DIY car wash, don't come here if you don't know how to wash your own car. Good value, all eqpt worked except air dryer (due to noise conplaints from neighbors was shut off). Other than that everything went smooth, accepted card or cash. I guess another downside is once we got car cleaned, we saw how bad the paint was underneath all that dirt lol. read more

Doesn't seem like there's a lot of car wash options in Monterey. This place gets busy enough to start lines. If you go super early or late to avoid the crowd, watch out for homeless people with mental disorders. $4 for 4 minutes of pressure wash/foam/wax/spot free rinse. $2 for 4 minutes of air blower. If you're paying by credit card, remember it doesn't stop at 4 minutes, it'll keep charging you until you press end. Good idea to end the wash when you're scrubbing the car, and start it again when you want to rinse. read more

FINALLY FOUND ONE! Moved here a month or so ago, could not find a coin op car wash to save my life in the area! Finally driving I found it and just pulled in. THEY TAKE CREDIT CARD! When I used it the machine maxed out at $16.00, so I was able to clean my extremely dirty truck/ bed. I'm sure if I was moving faster I could have shortened it but it was a great experience. Everything works, everyone was neighborly (moving their car when they were done, ect). I will be back, great experience. read more

Great self service car wash. I was in town on vacation as part of a drive up the coast and needed a place to gently wash my car. The two detail shops in the area were booked for the day so it was either a gas station run through or this place. This was definitely the right choice. Plenty of soap from the high pressure washer. Pressure was high enough to remove some oil and road tar from my wheels, but did not damage or peel off any of the paint protection film on my car. Foaming brush had tons of suds and the chemical did a great job of removing brake dust without damaging my wheels. Both the oil and brake dust were not removed five days earlier at a similar type place in Phoenix AZ. And best of all, there is a hand held power dryer that allowed me to dry my car to a spotless shine without any towels. Car ended up impeccably clean. The credit card feature is great too. Just swipe and then hit the stop button when you're done. No more carrying around extra quarters. read more

We use this car wash for our RV and love the easy access. Very clean and Mike was verY helpful when we were there. If you have a large vehicle or RV this is the place. Great high pressure sprayer guns make it easy to clean the top of RV's and the soapy brushes are great for awnings and the body of your RV (yes we were able to open the awning to clean it). I LOVE this place but I hate the cost. You will need $8 to clean a small car. For every $4 the machine gives you about 4 minutes. It's maybe enough for a quick rinse and brush, but not enough to rinse the soap off. So you have to pay again. $8 is just too much for a self-service car wash. It's always clean. They have security cameras and it feels safe, even at night. I wish they would give us 8 minutes for $4 or $5. I'm sure they will get more business and more money this way. read more

We have been long-time customers there, but today we ran into the owner/operator. To sum it up: he is a jerk. When we pulled into the station from the back, he told us to pull around and enter from North Fremont, so we did. When we pulled up my wife asked the owner/operator if we could use the spot behind a pickup truck (2 sets of hoses/power washers in that spot). He just stood there staring at us and after she asked three times, he still refused to answer. So we pulled into the spot behind the pick-up truck. That was not all - keep reading. My wife got out of the car and asked the pick-up driver if it would bother him if we washed our car behind his truck. The truck driver said, yes that was ok, no problem. While both talked to each other, this owner/operator came out of his small office and walked up to my wife and told her not to harass his customer. My wife explained to him that we only asked the truck driver if it would bother him if we washed, or we could wait til he finished. The truck driver said no problem. The owner/operator ignored our explanation, told us to stop talking to the truck driver and go somewhere else. Then he got into his truck and drove away. My wife felt very threatened, and thought he would have done something if I hadn't been with her. After he left, my wife and the truck driver spoke and the truck driver said he thought the owner/operator was crazy. He also did not understand why the guy was so rude to us. He stated that we did nothing wrong. That I was the one being harassed! So, avoid this place. The next place for a carwash is just up the street. Will not be returning or recommending to anyone. No one should be harassed like this, especially after following/complying with their rules. read more
