So I didn't want to take any chances with it properly healing although I went to the emergency room and had x-rays done and scheduled a follow-up with a podiatrist to make sure everything is healing properly and get some advice on how to best make sure I recover well. Dr. Holtz was easy to see and I was able to quickly make an appointment for just a few days out. Easy to find in a strip-mall area by YNot Pizza off Kempsville with plenty of parking out front. I arrived as the first appointment of the day and there was no one else inside, so I was quickly checked in as a Sentara patient (since all my stuff is in the system) and only waited a few minutes to see the doctor. I really liked Dr. Holtz. He's very personable and friendly. He spent a lot of time with me answering all my questions and explaining what I had done to my foot and how it was healing. He gave me some good advice and went over my x-rays with me and reassured me that my healing was coming along nicely. We scheduled a follow-up appointment for a month for now but he told me to cancel it if I was fine because I didn't need to come in if I was doing OK. I'll be sure to keep this office on my rolodex if I need to come in for other foot issues and since I'm now running a lot I suspect some might crop up.

He did not try to upsell me into services but he did take the time to explain my options and the benefits of the treatments. Because he was so gentle and caring, I did opt for orthotics and they have been a blessing to me. The orthotic fit like a glove and they are made out of premium materials very durable. I move them from gardening shoes, to running shoes and my office loafers with ease. they have a great selection of footwear for all seasons. Again, no one tried to push any products at any time during my visit. The daignosis and treatment for my feet have increased my mobility without pain. I appreciate them and so will you.

The other podiatrists did not listen to my ingrown toenail complaint. For the past couple of months I have had an ulcer on the tip…read moreof a toe on my right foot that is still not healed properly due to the fact that I have what are known as Hammer Toes which cause those toes to rub on the bottom of my shoe. All of the items that can be purchased to keep the bad toes raised up do not work for my toes. I am scheduled for Surgery to correct the Hammer Toes soon but having a sore on one of the toes being operated on is not ideal, especially being a Diabetic. Dr. Diaz went above and beyond at my last visit to check my wound. He took different things he uses in the office and built a sling for lack of a better description that actually keeps that toe off the shoe. He is also going to do a procedure in the office next Wednesday and if it works I might be able to avoid Hammer Toe Surgery. This revue is strictly for Dr. Diaz. If you find yourself in need of a Podiatrist, you can't go wrong with Dr. Diaz.

I was very disappointed with my experience. It took me three days just to reach someone to schedule…read morean appointment. There is no option to speak with a live receptionist--you have to leave a voicemail. I left two messages over a three-day period and also called several times hoping to catch someone in the office before I finally received a callback. After I was finally able to schedule an appointment, I received another call about 10 minutes later informing me that I was now considered a "new patient" because I hadn't been seen in a few years. This is a foot specialist, so naturally I wouldn't have regular visits unless I was having foot problems. I had been a patient there before, but because they reclassified me as a new patient, the earliest appointment available was three months away. It's frustrating to know they have an appointment available but refuse to adjust the appointment slot so that I could hv been seen. I had a swollen ankle and was in pain! Fortunately, I called another foot specialist that same afternoon. Although they also had no standard new-patient appointments available, they adjusted their schedule and were able to fit me in just two days later. That level of customer service and willingness to help made all the difference. The entire process was frustrating, inefficient, and not patient-friendly. I hope the office improves its communication and scheduling process so other patients don't have the same experience.

Mid explanation- I was cut off and told "I am just a scheduler, no need to go further with explanation"! I was then asked to provide my insurance provider and the name of my insurance carrier. Both of those items were provided and this man's response was "I've never heard of that insurance plan through Aetna, I am unable to help you". It was suggested that due to this representatives inability to respond to my inquiry, that I should contact another podiatrist! Upon further review of the online reviews of this practice and location, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that his man then disconnected my call and when I called back multiple times, refused to pick up. This is possibly the most disrespectful interaction I have encountered with a 'medical professional' reception or otherwise. After this experience, only a fool would move forward with care through these people. STAY FAR AWAY! Unprofessional, condescending and rude. YIKES! RUN! DONT WALK!

The office itself should be condemned due to the mold and the odor alone. The office itself is dirty but somehow cleaner than the exam rooms. There are reviews everywhere. Read them before making your decision to use his services. Ive noticed most of any 5 star reviews are "Anonymous". All the 1 star reviews look legitimate with names and photos of previous encounters.
