I did my driving test at and preparation with Chirag at Port Union. He is a very knowledgeable, professional and calm person who knows how to motivate you and calm your nerves. I was a very nervous driver, but he helped me to improve in 2 lessons. By the 3rd lesson,it was like we were great friends just going for a safe drive around the area. The only decent part about this school is the in-class aspect. When it comes to driving, the experience is absolutely deplorable. First I had a driver who did not book me for about a month, and when she finally did, she cancelled saying she was going on vacation and that we would pick up next month. Understandable, however I paid for a service and wanted what I paid for. After escalating, Sara (the owner) said she'd give me lessons. On our first lesson, she showed up 40 minutes late and when I said I was leaving due to her lack of punctuality, she came to my house and told me to come start the lesson. No thank you. She ended up counting the lesson as missed ON MY BEHALF. Finally I requested a new driving instructor and got Gill. Gill was very patient and paid attention to my driving, and taught the concepts well. However, each lesson was only about 15-20 minutes and we never hit the open road or any main roads, only staying within the neighbourhood. Overall, we completed ~2 hours out of the 10 hours I paid for, but it was counted as 10 hours. Under no circumstances do I recommend this driving school. Poorly run and it all comes from the top. Sara is a narcissistic and selfish person and it shows in the way this business is run. read more

Will be looking to enroll my sons now A small thing but a bit unusual for a business phone number. I could not leave a message on their voicemail as it is not set up on their phone for some reason.However they did call me back within 20 mins so your contact # is recorded. I am very disappointed from the services I received from AAMCO driving school instructor and owner, named Sara. I realized that she is a woman with a busy schedule; however, the following reasons led me to my decision to submit my comments to this website and that way make future driving students aware of the situation and prevent them from getting into unnecessary negative experiences with AAMCO. Sara never explained to me the foundational rules of driving (e.g., M-S-B, proper distance from other vehicles, etc). In contradiction, she systematically appeared to be stressed and she was always responding to her cell phone calls during the lessons. As a result, she did not pay attention to my potential driving mistakes but she was talking on her cell phone or was answering text messages and obviously ignored me during the lesson time. In addition, she appeared to be arrogant, ego-centric, and showed lack of caring about teaching me proper driving skills and emphasizing the mistakes I made during the road driving lessons. I should also emphasize that her driving school vehicle was mostly messy and occasionally filthy. In addition, I had the most egregious experience with Sara during the last week and right before my actual road test date. About a month before my road test date, I called and texted her for at least 5 times in order to schedule final lessons and make sure that she will rent me the AAMCO vehicle for my road test. However, she kept promising that she would call me back and she never did so. As a result I had to search for a different driving school in the area in order to have my final road lessons and rent the other school's vehicle for my road test. The instructor of the other driving school was very caring and methodical and even though he had a religious holiday during my road test day he accompanied me to the road test location and helped me substantially. Consequently, I passed the road test and got my G-level license; I feel very much appreciated for my new driving instructor and disappointed for AAMCO policy and the deplorable and unprofessional way I was treated by AAMCO and especially Sara. In conclusion, I am appalled that AAMCO has been approved by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and, for this purpose, I made the decision to notify your agency about the deplorable quality of services I received. read more

At first I was impressed, but when the actual driving started I was immediately disappointed. The instructor (Jay) was disorganized and constantly cancelled lessons. At the end of every lesson he would let me know how many of the lessons I had finished, and the number was suspiciously high sometimes to the point where I had to correct him. I eventually lost track and depended on him, which was a mistake. In order to book an appointment for my G2 road test I had to have completed the driving portion of the course (10hrs), so I signed the paper when he told me to so I could get my licence a little sooner. He then asked if I wanted a lesson before my test, which I thought was complimentary (because at this point I knew I hadn't finished all 10 lessons); well, it wasn't. I was charged $30 for a lesson with a completely different instructor, in a completely different car because he was busy with another client. Yes, I made a stupid mistake signing that paper, but overall I would say this is a dishonest business. read more

They take pride that they have the first ever female driving instructor in Toronto. Let me just say now, that's not exactly a good thing. This female instructor is constantly talking on her phone while you're on the wheel. If she isn't doing that, then she's eating her ridiculously smelly food. The car provided is always a mess. Don't get me started on their scheduling. Booking a driving session at your availability is super difficult. OH and FYI, please stick to teaching about driving in your classes, I don't really want to hear about your philosophy on life. read more

Do NOT pay for Aamco driving classes, it is NOT worth it. Way too costly, they don't teach you properly, you'll regret the in-car classes. You'll pay more than necessary for a teacher who won't give you a full hour class, makes you stop at their home all the time, pick up other students, sit in the back of the car while the other student gets to drive you home, comes late to classes, gives zero feedback on your forms, increases the fees in the middle of your sessions, doesn't even give you a driving certificate in the end! I have had a rather frustrating experience at AAMCO regarding my G2 and G lessons. Although their teaching is very basic their rude and un-professional behaviour and the fact that 1 hour lessons are never fully utilized properly is reason enough to not attend this driving school. Approximately 75% of my scheduled G2 driving lessons never started on time- often i'd be waiting for my instructor to come and delays were not communicated to me in a timely manner. When I called the school, the lady who picked up was extremely rude, told me she'd call me back and never did until I called again. There have been numerous instances when my scheduled appointment would have to be re-scheduled which defeats the purpose of scheduling. I have since switched to a new driving school which is so much better in terms of the actual in-car learning and which costs me less per driving lesson than AAMCO. Serious improvements need to be made. read more
