Where do I even begin? This business is garbage. They charged my teenage son over $2,000 to install a used/warrantied transmission while he was 6.5 hours away from home. They had the vehicle for 2 weeks before telling him it was repaired and ready to pick up. My son flew to Corpus Christi to retrieve his car, only to find out it still wasn't fixed and shifting correctly. He ended up stranded overnight, spending an additional $860 replacing the battery, alternator, & fuses, hoping the transmission wasn't the issue. His dad had to drive 6 hours to get him and the car. They continue to not take accountability for the mistake and lack of following through to ensure the transmission was working as it should. The laziness on their part cost us at least $4600 total and the car still isn't fixed. Their only response is "we offered to rebuild but you declined and chose a used transmission", and they want us to once again go out of our way and take the car 6.5 hours back south so they can fix the mistake they made. They might have installed the transmission but they failed miserably at the most important task of making sure that the car was repaired and safe for my son to drive. Don't waste your time or money on these idiots! And report them to the BBB if you've been duped, too! read more

I had very bad experience with Daniel . I first brought in my truck to have it looked at due to 4th and 5th gear not working. I was told by Daniel that it need a new rebuild and would take 4-5 days. Within 2 weeks I still did not have my transmission and was told by Ernie that the truck was experiencing the same issue not going into 4th and 5th gear. I was told a different story by daniel and that that they caused the issued by breaking other parts of my truck and that I should be greatful that they fixed the issue and Daniel did not care that they took more than 3 weeks to fix my truck. I was also told by Daniel that he had replaced all of the senors they they broke on Friday and would be ready within the hour. He notified me same day that the sensors were not in fact ordered and would take another week. inasked for the old parts so I could have them inspected and was told 3 different stories 1st was that they through my old parts away 2nd then that I could have them only after I paid for the old parts and 3rd was that he wouldnt give them to me. I asked to speak to owner to share my experienc and was told he would call me when truck was ready and did not happen. i beleive Daniel overlooked the original problem and went straight into rebuild without looking into original problem costing me many thousands of dollars over a simple fix, took longer than expected costing me thousands in lost work and told many different stories about why my truck wasn't fixed. I do not recommend going to this particular AAMCO as I have good experiences with other AAMCO's in the past and very distrustful of Daniel. read more

Daniel answered my call. Very knowledgeable and professional. Me, 72 year old Vietnam Veteran which he quickly thanked me for my service and informed me I would get a veteran discount. Mopar says not to service my 8HP70 transmission since it is good for the life of the transmission. Experience has shown me why it should be serviced. Daniel quickly verified the required parts and the required transmission fluid. He greeted me at the door and I knew I was in good hands. Almost 90,000 miles on a Hemi 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4X4 which I take very good care of. Now I will feel safer in my upcoming trip to California. Thank you Daniel for showing me the old pan and fluid. Naturally there were metallic particles visible in the fluid, on the 4 magnets and the filter had seen better days. I am feeling more content going thru this transmission servicing. Heat is a transmission's worse enemy and after 8 years 90,000 miles it will be great to have this additional comfort knowing it has now been serviced. I already knew that a complete flush is not recommended and Daniel agreed. Specs are 8HP70 8 Speed Automatic Transmission capacity is 8.8 quarts. Replacing the pan and gasket will take approximately 6 quarts. The 1/3 old mixed with 2/3 new will provide major benefits all with a new filter and new clean magnets. read more

They do a FREE check. I knew I had a transmission leak because I kept having to add fluid. My truck was there for about 6 hours and they called and said they would have to open my transmission up to find out what the problem was. They classified my transmission fluid as "varnished" and asked me to authorize a $589 labor fee to open it up, and said that amount would go into any work done. I declined after many their many offers of financing and a "layaway" plan to pay off. It was just too much money for a 2001 Ford. I took it home, had a mobile mechanic come and give me an opinion and he quickly discovered the transmission fluid was mixing with the coolant due to a crack in the radiator. He replaced it and flushed the system easily, all for hundreds dollars less than just their labor fee. I wouldn't take my vehicle here again. read more

I had my transmission rebuilt earlier this year by the AAMCO on Leopard in Corpus Christi (which only came with a 2 month warrantee, btw) for $3,400.The manager was kind of rude, but whatever. A few weeks back it got water damage. I had it sent back. This time they wanted over $6,000. The car isn't worth that much so I financed another car. I explained that I simply don't have $6,000 anyway. Get this, then the guy called me back and said they can actually do it for $3,000. Interesting; once I couldn't afford it, the price dropped in half. Does that sound fishy to anyone? Seriously, how crooked!! Since it also has a rebuilt engine, I put it on Craigslist (and told them that was my plan). They wanted $800 for looking at it and I figured I'd pay them from what I got for the car. They called me and told me that they were going to start charging me a storage fee. I explained that I had several people interested. The guy said he wanted it off from their lot. I offered to have to towed. He said that I couldn't take it until I paid the $800 AND they're going to start charging me a storage fee. At this point, I am a repeat customer, yet they were setting me up to be financially victimized. I financed the $3,400 last time and paid it off in a matter of a few months so they know that I'm good for the money (and I have a charge account with them that suddenly I can't use?) So today a guy bought it. The manager said that I didn't have permission to sell it from their lot. I told him that I had TOLD him that that's exactly what I was going to do and I have their money. He was clearly disappointed that he wasn't going to get to screw me over. Avoid these crooks like the plague. read more

I had a transmission problem and due to lack of time (military and had to get across the states) i went with a national brand name with out reading reviews or doing research on other businesses, this turned out to be a huge mistake! Shawn the manager was super nice and prior Navy so lots to talk about while i was forking over $3600 for a partial rebuild and a 90 day warranty. The truck had to be brought back two times within a 48 hour period for the same problem and all of a sudden now that im on the other side of the country, Shawn is nowhere to be found...... always on the other line or out of the office. He absolutely refused to return my calls and talk to me in person. So i dealt with Daniel at the front desk. Piss poor management/customer service skills on your part Shawn. Anyways they finally figured out the problem as it being the PCM that was bad. When asked was this the problem to begin with and was all this work necessary, i was told oh no, your transmission still had a problem and this was a after the fact thing. LMAO!. sure it was..too bad 3 other transmission mechanics i talked to told me this is most likely not the case. Then they want to charge me a "good deal" for a new PCM from the dealer of over $500 and to take it to get programmed for an additional $150. I say no i cannot afford that and take my truck back. Here is what i found with doing a little research after the fact. 1. I was quoted for a COMPLETE rebuild of my transmission for $950 with a LIFETIME warranty from another shop that people i personal know have used and they back 100%. 2. I can get a new PCM ordered already programmed by giving VIN number and mileage sent to me for less $200. and considering it is plug and play it takes about 15 minutes to swap out. Please please please learn from my mistake and don't be fooled and empty out your wallet.Take the time and Do some research if you can and stay the hell away from this shop. I will be contacting the BBB and corporate office as well. read more

Brought in my brother in law's car which had a Aamco transmission overhaul in Houston and was leaking. This location didn't hesitate to honor the warranty. They had to get approval from Houston but after a few days they took care of the problem for no charge. Good communication and service read more

They wanted $2195.00 for a th350 bench job rebuild. That means, I take the transmission out of my car, give it to them, they rebuild it, give the transmission back to me, and I install it myself. Check it out on the internet, th350's are going for about 950 bucks on Jegs and Summit racing. 2195! And I believe that comes with NO WARRANTY since I would install it myself. Seriously? Granted they were nice guys... Give me 2200 bucks and I would kiss your tail all the way to the bank. Oh, btw- they gave me my tranny back in pieces. I mean, completely disassembled. They told me they would charge me if they put it back together. AVOID at all costs. read more

I brought my car in while visiting home and my transmission was acting up. they took very good care of me and got my extended warranty company to cover the whole thing which was a plus. What a business, i got my vehicle fluids checked for free , i told daniel to check for leaks on a specific item . And he says ( who cares about that ) . Seriously.... i spent alot of money to get the trans fixed when it came out as the same price as my other vehicle's trans from G.M factory and it is 4×4 too. Terrible customer service. Took my vehicle home and it was low on oil, not to mention my power steering was empty. I regret going there. I honestly dont know how this business gets good reviews? Scam. The people seem very nice and helpful until they get your money. I just paid almost 1500 to get my truck fixed. They had to fix the same problem three times. This last time I picked up my truck. I immediately noticed an unusual sound(which it was never making before). I let the shop know they informed me it was nothing. Me just wanting my vehicle after repeatedly having them look at it took my truck home. The next day I put my kids in the truck to take them too school and my truck completely stopped working. Me expecting a baby next month was stuck on the side of the free way with a disabled daughter and my five year old son. I called the shop at 7:48 and let them know. They told me to bring it and they would see if they could fix it again being how every time they fix it I have to give them more money. I refused and they don't want to give me my money back. These people purposely damage your vehicle so that you bring it back then charge you more fees. Ever visit to the shop they had a customer upset because they were ripping them off. One customer purposely made sure he was good on motor oil before he brought his truck back to the shop. Before leaving the shop he checked his oil and it was completely dry. He informed the shop they pretended like they didn't know anything. Like myself he had already paid a huge chunk of money and kept having to bring it back to get it fixed right.
