If you are considering updating your kitchen or bath, please keep looking further than this company. We hired them over a year ago to do our kitchen and it still is not complete. Poor communication, inept designer (Doreen) that didn't pay attention to details and caused a lot of rework, and ineffective management (Tom) of subcontractors that took shortcuts and did shoddy work. We had to stay on top of everything, and the whole project was extremely stressful. There are so many other companies out there- find a different one. read more

We would not recommend AB&K. We contracted with AB&K to retile a guest bathroom( floors and shower walls) and a total remodel of our primary bathroom. The original tiler backed out, so AB&K replaced him with another tiler. There was no reviews for this tiler online. The job. was done so unprofessionally. The wall tiles were uneven, glaze was chipped on multiple tiles, not cut to curve around the tub plus so many other errors. The floor tiles were uneven not making a flat surface, cut uneven at the door entrance causing a trip hazard. The tiler left such a mess cement on the floor and carpet, a poor grout and caulk job and spilled Coke on the bed carpet. AB&K no longer uses this tiler for their jobs( surprise,surprise). We had 3 independent tile contractors evaluate the project. All 3 concluded that the job was poorly done and all the tile would have to removed and replaced. It could not just be repaired. We have since retiled the guest bathroom walls and floor. It looks beautiful and the floors are flat and even. The wall are a perfect subway tile flat and symmetrical. The tiler stated there wasn't enough cement on the tiles for it to adhere to the walls and to prevent water from leaking into the cement board. Don't be fooled by the designers sales pitch, the pictures on the showroom wall and the NARI designation. We would advise you not to use a NARI contractor as you must go through a mediation and arbitration with them to resolve any issues. This costs money and time ($1950). AB&K is a member of NARI which is very rigged. 4 NARI contracors and the AB&K owners came to evaluate the job during the mediation. The was no conclusion so the parties went to an arbitration. NARI hires the arbitrator, a retired judge( this seems like a conflict of interest). Don't hire an attorney it's not worth the expense. You can gather the information, before and after pictures, emails and expert witness by yourself. During the arbitration and documented emails, AB&K stated that they could not return any item to the product contractors. These products were bought for the primary bathroom that was never done due to the poor guest bathroom job. We contacted Able plumbing, Lexco Tile and Stone and all stated that it could be returned. The judge recognized that and we were able to get most of money back. We could not get any money back for the custom cabinet. AB&K left the cabinet outside their showroom for us to pick up and scratched it up. This whole ordeal took 10 months, so buyer beware. read more

AB&K kitchen and bath. Please be cautious in selecting them. Their business model isn't awful as they have Zero in house people/staff which has been successful for them. However there is not one person on their staff that has a global understanding of construction or application to your project. One project manager has the background of water delivery, the other has supposedly 25 years of tile installation. Having said that neither are qualified to lead a full project. Could they schedule and so forth? Sure but they do not communicate well at all. They send emails at the end of the day and are unwilling to call you to communicate directly. I would say there primary abilities are to design, and those talents proved to be far less than acceptable. You can't review or have a documented resource to review if the project actually fits your space without committing to a contract. That procedure isn't necessarily uncommon, however you weren't allowed to document anything for your personal review to access your physical space. We worked with Doreen that was very convincing to be one of the best in the business supported by her boss Tracy that provided a number of letters behind her name if she were a physician in some field. Both were absolutely clueless, as was the project manger and their ever so knowledgeable boss. Dave Smith( one of the owners is purely a number investment person) This certainly isn't a bad thing, however when he got involved it was absolutely obvious he was clueless about a project but was quite arrogant as to how smart he was. Our project was projected to be completed in 8 weeks which is truly admirable and achievable. Here we are 14 MONTHS later and still waiting on a completion of the inspectors code concerns. The concerns of the inspector DOES NOT include quality concerns as that is not their role. It's clear it's also not the role of anyone that is directly affiliate to or directly employed by this company. I have numerous more and important examples not to hire this company. This doesn't even scratch the surface. Please don't waste your money, time, or energy signing a contract with them. I made that mistake without pressure, however, keep this in mind. THEY WILL overpromise and under deliver. My wife and I are committed to communicate to the public how bad they are. Mind you I've been in the construction industry in excess of 40 years. Should I have done this project myself? Yes I should have. Unfortunately physical restrictions did not allow me to do so. Having shared that, am I more critical? Sure but more forgiving and unable to accept excuses presented for deficiencies. Imagine if it were a family member of yours that was taken advantage of. In efforts of addressing value, their price was stupid high for the project. Doreen took advantage of the "inflation" statement for our final contract price. Over a 14% increase in 26 days. Hmmmm! Yes we did sign it, unfortunately not a good choice. However this company lacks integrity and looked at our project as a cash cow for them. I'm not hard to find in social media, if you have specific questions or would like more information. TLDR: Quality work, good people, certainly recommend, will work with again! We are very happy with our full kitchen remodel with AB&K! We did a copy/paste of our old layout with Dura Supreme cabinets (highly recommend) and Cambria quartz countertops. From the beginning, Jessica was great, she was flexible and knowledgeable when answering questions. Any concern I called her with she helped me out in an entirely professional manner and I always felt more secure and excited after talking to her. Our job supervisor was Scott, he always answered or returned calls promptly and was also great to work with. Every contractor that came in was good, and the work done was quality. 99% of the work was done on time (with one exception, see below). They are super thorough with the contract process, which we really appreciated. It outlines (with pictures!) exactly what you're paying for. We get so many compliments on the new kitchen, particularly the backsplash and the countertops. Bearing in mind I gave them 5 stars, there was some hiccups, but it all worked out very well in no small part due to the honesty and professionalism of the AB&K team. During the design process, we were told a particular brand of quartz was within a certain budget, only to be told during signing time it was in the top pricing tier. Thankfully, when we expressed we might have chosen a different quartz we were given the opportunity to switch, which we did (and I'm honestly happier with the style we got). During the actual work, two aspects of the job were not done as contracted, and one was able to be fixed while the other was not. The microwave was hung too low over the stove, impeding cooking space, and the quartz countertop was cut rounded instead of beveled. The microwave issue was able to be fixed, but it was over a month after everything was completed because the over microwave cabinet had to be replaced with a smaller cabinet. I want to call out the work they did to make sure the backsplash moved up with the microwave was flawless. Unfortunately, the counter wasn't able to be fixed, but AB&K did right by us in the end. We will definitely have them help us in the future on a bathroom! read more

My wife and I were involved in a complete gut and redesign of an inefficient kitchen and master bath of an old 100+ year home. Key to our solution was integration of contemporary cabinetry and quartz countertops with the open design outcome we sought. We worked with Carol, one of A B&K's award-winning designers. I enjoy cooking and it was paramount that this kitchen was functional, had abundant storage, and had a large wide island to allow multiple people ample space to prepare meals, bake, or enjoy one another's company while sharing the final delicious product. Add to this challenge our tight economic parameters and Carol didn't hesitate to step up to the plate. Our beautiful outcome featured deep drawers for storing pots, pans and small appliances; shelving for cook books; a huge wall-hung wine rack; and large open floating shelves for dinnerware. We nearly tripled our storage capacity from the original kitchen design. The cabinetry was quality construction with soft closing hardware on doors and drawers. A B&K met the functional, aesthetic and economic expectations in both the kitchen and the master bath. The added value will be realized above and beyond what we invested. AB & K remodeled my master bathroom and powder room this summer. I am so happy with their work and would recommend them to anyone wanting quality work delivered on time and on budget. First, I appreciated Alissa, the designer I worked with. She was always happy to answer my questions or help solve challenges that arose (such as when the tile company shipped the wrong color tile!). Alissa's design suggestions made my bathrooms beautiful. Tom, the project manager, was great at keeping everything flowing, and was excellent at communicating all the steps of the project. He also was patient. The main carpenter, Chris, and the tile guys, Kelly and Matthew, were fantastic at their work and answered all my questions. Their workmanship was high quality. This is the second time we've hired AB&K, this time for our master bath. Our designer, Alissa was on point with what we were looking for and oversaw that our vision was brought to fruition. The designer and project manager were very easy to work with at first. Our kitchen was demolished and new floor and cabinets installed in 3 days. It took 6 more weeks for countertops, sink and dishwasher to be installed. There were many instances of poor communication between us and the project manager. There were errors in their measurements which had to be dealt with. I would never want to go through that again. 2 stars are for materials, which turned out to be very good. read more

LONG story short, way too many issues to address, but the main complaints will be in this review. We hired AB&K aka We Do Kitchens 2 to remodel our kitchen, the job manager and sales lady reeled us in and did NOT deliver. The project was not on schedule per the job manager and sales lady, they gave us a verbal time limit and then they lied and said we were never given a time frame. The cabinet sample looks nice at the store, but that is not how the cabinet doors will come delivered. The seams are not smooth and stand out, I requested over 20 doors to be replaced and I believe the cabinet company rep only agreed to replace 7 or 8. The doors don't wash well either. The kitchen was not properly measured and our refrigerator in the cabinet alcove has maybe a pencil width on each side to get the frig out. We can't get it out without damaging the refrigerator sides and the cabinet edges. The "durable" Congoleum flooring they offered is not "durable" at all and the subcontractors shoddy application didn't help the situation either. The subcontractor nailed or screwed the sub floor down and the heads of the nails/screws popped up and made bumps on several floor tiles. They did come back and replace a couple that happened almost immediately, but then a few months later more bumps appeared and I didn't call them again because I was too fed up with AB&K and I hired a contractor to replace the other tiles. Anything that is dropped on the floor leaves a mark, almost 3 years later about 1/3 of the tiles need to be replaced. The soffits were removed to provide space for taller cabinets and crown moldings were installed. The ceilings were repaired and were left uneven, leaving big gaps above the crown moldings. A contractor came back and mudded the uneven areas which were still uneven and later cracked. The dry wall subcontractor did poor work too, I could see daylight around the areas he had supposedly fixed. Basically my "new" kitchen looked "used" immediately and was a big let down. I DO have pictures for every claim I am making on this situation. All-in-all, I wish we would have spent the additional $5,000 for a different contractor and had not given our business to AB&K/WDK2. read more

They are good sales people and that is about it. There was a lack of communication through the entire project. The people were unprofessional and the work was unprofessional. Our designer was fired during our project and we were told that the carpenters were going to be fired after our job. It took 12 months from design to completion. It was never actually completed and they emailed a final statement and demanded their money or they would put a lein on our house. They did not offer a thing for our inconvenience and unprofessional work. The owner just told me he was sorry for the way we felt and told me that we were never charged for every time they had to come back to fix THEIR mistakes. DO NOT HIRE AB&K!!! read more

AB&K improperly installed a cooktop. WE Energies found gas leaking from all four burners and shut off the gas to it because installation was not up to code. AB & K maintained installation was acceptable and left us to pay the cost of correcting installation and having gas restored. read more
