Yes, parts and labor were high, but I really liked my washer and a new one would have cost hundreds of dollars more. I was given a written estimate and told I would receive a call within a few days when parts were in. Phone call received as promised. Date set, I received a call when he was on his way. Yes, it only took him a short amount of time to replace the bad struts and lid switch with manufacturers parts, because he knows what he's doing. I did receive a small discount for paying cash. I didn't do the repair myself because I couldn't get the plastic cover off the ball to make the repair. Anyway I brought the part and vacuum into the shop and asked them if they could replace the part. They said they couldn't, that they charged $89 just to take the vacuum, and that the vacuum was no longer sold they didn't want to be responsible if something happened when they took the vacuum apart. I asked what I should do, they said, buy another vacuum. They then tried to show me another similar Dyson for sale in their shop for $100. I told them, no thank you and left. I then went to the Dyson Service Center today with the vacuum and they fixed it in less than 10 minutes, for $63.40, including an additional hose ($9) that also needed replaced. My question is why have a sign outside your store that says you service Dyson vacuums if you don't??

I went and was favorably impressed by the cleanliness and order of the store. I spoke with John Mills, a very knowledgeable and courteous man that told me what he suspected the problem was and how to fix it, I didn't have the vacuum with me but I followed his advice and fixed it. The next day, I brought another, my favorite vacuum in, it was in pieces, I had tried to DIY it. He fixed it. I am so grateful there are company's like Topps that see the value in older, experienced, proficient people. I immediately told others about my "find". Instead of going through every detail of our "story", I will list, from the least worst to the most worst, issues we've had with Metro Appliance and our purchase of a used (preowned) refrigerator from them. 1) They do not offer refunds, only a 90-day "warranty" and replacement of an item. 2) Our refrigerator was one of the nicest they had in stock. Within three months, we had to contact them five (5) times for maintenance....for the same problem. The ice maker did not work; the installer didn't even install the refrigerator right to produce the ice. They didn't even include a water line for the refrigerator, I had to purchase it separately. They also did not clean the refrigerator before they brought it to us, nor did they replace the dirty filter. THEY SOLD US A REFRIGERATOR WITH A DIRTY FILTER!!! 3) One of the "installers" decided to take a smoke break while his co-worker installed the refrigerator (I guess he couldn't wait 30-minutes). He flicked his cigarette into my landscaping and set it on fire (it was a very hot and dry day). 4) When our refrigerator was being "maintenanced", they wanted to replace it with another one of their items instead of fixing the one we purchased, and what they brought us was nothing short of horrible. It was dirty, spray painted, and dented up. 5) The installer/maintenance worker informed me that they do not purchase used items, but they purchase everything by the truck load. Basically what they do is buy junk and scrap, and then put together refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc. Basically, it's rebuilt JUNK! 6) Our refrigerator was INFESTED WITH ROACHES! I should have known by the looks of the company's facilities, but decided to go with it anyway because it was a "good deal" (so I thought). Please save your money and time...purchase something new, or at least from someone you know. How Metro Appliance in Tampa survives is beyond me. I'm selling the refrigerator for whatever I can get out of it. I will NEVER purchase anything from Metro Appliance again!!!
