The clear and transparent pricing on their website is what led us to contact them, and they were the most affordable option we found - the next cheapest option we were quoted was more than double what we paid. May 2, 2015 was an awful day. My husbands father passed away. We knew we could not afford to bury dad and cremation was our only choice. We were given a lot of information from friends as to low cost services. We called in Monday and received an appointment the next day with Don. Don was very personable, and sincere. He stepped us through the paper work and told us what to expect. They were very thorough. There services were half of what the other places were. What poor treatment from this guy!! He tries to get you to spend a lot of money for services you don't need by making you feel guilty that you're not spending enough on your loved one. He tries to rush you through and acts like you are waisting his time when you ask him questions or take the time to think about some arrangements. He even tries to tell you his urns are made of something special that you can't get elsewhere. All the ones he sells can be purchased online for much cheaper than he sells there. For instance he has one urn there that he's selling for $395. A quick search on my phone tells me I can get the same one shipped to my house for $79. He has another one listed for $295 that I could find online for $109. Why pay him more money when he most likely orders them from the same places online once you give him the money? He just pockets the extra $200+ dollars. read more

Talk about unprofessional...We walk in after dealing with the death of a loved one to a little rat dog jumping up to the "receptionist" working at the front desk..All we needed was a simple cremation for a memorial service at a later date and the funeral director or whatever he calls himself had the personality and decorum of a box of rocks and wouldn't even fill our urns once the cremains came back because we didn't buy one of his overpriced pieces due to it being a "liability"..This place is the definition of cheap, do yourselves a favor and spend the extra $$ and deal with a classier business, not a shopping center cremation service... I wish I had read the reviews before trusting them with my husband. They were very kind, until I paid. The Dr. must not have followed procedure. When I called Abbey Affordable, They began yelling at me that the Dr. was supposed to call with the information not. Me. I told her st stop yelling at me and just tell me what to do. She cont. to yell and said To "Come and get him if I was not happy". She then hung up on me, The supervisor called me back. I said I appreciated the call and said they must be under a great deal of stress with the virus. She too started in on me. Telling me the Dr. did it wrong and I should not even be calling them. I said, I understand the Dr. was in error ,what do I need to do. She ALSO said, If you do not like the way we are doing things, COME AND GET YOUR HUSBAND. When I went to pu my husbands remains, she was cold and heartless. Not one word was said, other than to sign the paper. I said I was unhappy with the way they dealt with me. She again begin to tell me the Dr. was in error. ALL of this because I called to give them the information instead of the Dr. I would never recommend them. read more

such an awful experience! as if my brother's death wasn't horrible enough. these people were all sweet and helpful when they knew we were interviewing crematoriums. after paying them it was all over. when his grieving window needed help with conflicting information from the doctor's and others involved she asked the girl at abbey to help her understand what she needed to do next. the gurl git nasty and at one point stated "if you don't like the way we are handling things you can come and pick your husband up". enough said read more

We used Abbey Affordable when my mother passed away in 2010. Mom wanted cremation and already had a burial plot up in Ohio next to my father. The people at Abbey were kind and very low key. No pressure for additional purchases or add-ons. We were led through the necessary steps and everything was done in a timely manner. Abbey coordinated with the cemetery in Ohio to arranged the transfer of the ashes. We had visited a couple of other cremation services where we felt pressured to buy expensive urns and keepsakes. While Abbey had many beautiful containers displayed, there was no 'sales' attitude there. We appreciated their simplicity and sincerity. read more

Opened my grandmothers ashes today. Said on the outside of the box my grandmother's name. On the inside of the box, the metal tag with the ashes, wrapped with a bread tie around the remains, says someone else's name I have never heard of. It also has a different crematory number, and a funeral home name on the back of the metal tag, I have never even heard of. They were completely unapologetic, an completely unwilling to help me get to the bottom of it. They said the tags "probably got switched", and "more than likely" the ashes I have are "probably" my grandmothers. I have called them twice today, no apology, no we will help you look into it, nothing. They referred me to another company and told me I need to call them, because that is where they sent my money and where they sent my grandmother's body to be cremated. Abbey Affordable Cremation said they were unwilling to contact that company because they no longer do business with them. So here I am trying to track down next of kin for some lady, whose ashes I have and try to locate my grandmothers remains. I will never know for sure now, where my grandmothers remains are. My only option now is to spend thousands of dollars for DNA testing. I would rather have just paid more for my grandmother's remains to be treated with dignity and respect. So I would tell you now run from this company, as fast as you can, unless you don't care whose body it is you are getting back. read more
