I only live about 15 minutes from Abbondanza, and every time I wonder why I don't make it in more often. Their pizza is definitely solid, however my go-to is their calzones. They are generous with toppings and cheese. Dough has a nice crunch to it but is also soft. The marinara sauce for dipping is slightly sweet and has a nice flavor. Got a cheese pizza and chicken Caesar pizza which sounds odd but trust me that ceased pizza was one of the best things ive ever had! Pizza was exceptionally good, not really a fan of MA pizza being from NY but this was the closest I've found so far. Crust was done well, perfect thickness good amount of cheese and sauce. Cheesy bread was very tasty, (would of liked the marinara warm - it was cold ). Chicken tenders were not dry at all and the sauce was not overpowering. All and all will definitely be going back. Now, I've been here before for subs, and they were, ok...and I can't say anything bad about the workers. However, this review is more for the buffalo chicken calzone lovers out there. I can't speak for the rest of their calzones, but their buffalo chicken calzone is awful. It's essentially an enormous cheese quesadilla. It looks they just melted down a ton of mozzarella, and sprinkled in a small tuna can size of shredded chicken (shredded to almost a paste) and called it a day. Now, I like cheese as much as the next guy, but there were slices that had zero chicken in it. As far as the "buffalo" side of things are concerned. You couldn't taste any sort of spice or heat. It didn't even look to have any type of hot sauce any where. A few clumps of the shredded chicken may have had a tinge of light orange to it, but it was nothing you could taste, so maybe it was just the depressing office lighting that I was forced to choke this down in. If it's a calzone you want, especially one of the buffalo variety, I would definitely go else where...especially since you probably pass 2 or 3 other sub shops just getting to this place. read more

The delivery, admittedly, was fast which was a great thing, but that's where the greatness ended. The Buffalo Mac and cheese calzone we ordered tasted like dish soap (seriously). It was also clear that the steak tips we ordered were rotten. The only thing, in fact, that was 'edible' were the fries. Which would be really hard to screw up. This review is admittedly harsh, but every. single. thing. we ordered from here wasn't just 'bad' persay, it was near inedible. What is going with this place? I have been going to Serena's Nails in the same plaza for a long time and finally tried Abbondanza yesterday. I kick myself for waiting so long because the food was fabulous! We got The Fenway pizza and a salad with grilled chicken. The crust on the pizza is outstanding and the toppings were generous. The salad was very fresh with mixed greens, not just iceberg. The chicken was moist and tasty. The other things I really appreciate is 1. they deliver to Hanson and 2. their delivery fee is very fair and straight forward. They don't advertise that they have free delivery just to charge exorbitant handling and prep charges like so many others seem to be doing. The lady that delivered our order was very sweet. I know restaurants are trying to survive during these difficult times and I want to support local, small businesses whenever possible. But if the cost of prepping my food and getting it to me is 30% of the total bill, I can't afford that. Thank you Abbondanza! You now have a new happy and faithful customer. read more

Placed an online order around 130pm, was told via online confirmation that order will be delivered between 210pm-220pm. By 235pm I still had not received my order (two subs side of ranch) so I decided to call. The girl who answered the phone was rude, put me on hold for 8 minutes, then came back to tell me they never received my online order. I was told that the manager would call me back. A few minutes later my food was delivered, cold and without a side of ranch. I usually pick up my food from here, but was in the middle of something and couldn't leave. Went here for the first time the other day. Ordered a spinach, feta, and tomato calzone. Loved it. Every other place I've ordered one from was packed with another cheese besides feta. Although next time I'd ask for 1/2 their usual feta and more spinach I found my meal to be very satisfying. I had heard nothing but great things about Abbondanza from coworkers and definitely wasn't disappointed. Food was hot. Dough wasn't chewy. It had a great crunch with a soft interior. The chicken was dry. My husbands "steak tip" dinner came with rice and salad. The salad was tiny but ok. We both had to laugh when we opened the box and the steak was straight up stir fry meat.... not good. And for the price pretty outrageous. We will not be back. read more

Very disappointed. I tried it for the first time and got delivery. I specifically ordered a broccoli alfredo pizza. But instead, they delivered a broccoli alfredo CALZONE. Not what I ordered or even wanted. There was too much cheese and no flavor. The cinnamon sticks were horrible. The icing was clearly powdered sugar and water, so naturally it dried up. You're supposed to add butter to it. It was not good. Just chunks of dried flavorless frosting. I'm never ordering from here again. read more
