I want to start by saying I setup a Yelp account just so I could write this review - that's how amazing Abby and her team are. That said, I went into the engagement ring buying process with zero knowledge on what to do or how it works. I looked on Yelp to find some places nearby so I could start browsing and figuring it out. I knew I wanted to do something more unique than walking into one of the big chains and buying something straight off the floor - then I found Abby. She already had stellar reviews so I thought I'd go see what she had to offer. It ended up being the beginning, and end, of my search. It couldn't have been a better experience for someone like myself, who really needed to be guided through all of the details. I met one-on-one multiple times with Abby and her associate Lindsay (equally as great) and, from day one, it was always about finding the right fit for my soon-to-be fiancé, and never about trying to upsell me. I brought in some photos of something I knew my girlfriend liked and Abby took them and designed the most beautiful, one-of-a-kind ring I've ever seen. Throughout the entire process, Abby and her team were available to answer any questions, they graciously went back-and-forth on different ideas and design elements, and really helped me to come to the perfect end product. My all time favorite engagement ring and wedding ring designer! I worked one-on-one with Abby and Lindsay to make my engagement ring. While the design process was admittedly quite a bit of work compared to going into a shop and buying a ring, it was SO worth it. I mean, why would I want some ring that a thousand other women have? I might have said "no" when my now fiancé asked me to marry him had he gotten me a "stock" ring!! ;) Haha! After all, my marriage is a special unique thing (and so am I!) so I want my ring to be special and one-of-a-kind, yes ma'am. Because my engagement ring reflects me. :) Their shop is more like a design studio and its sooo charming, not at all like a traditional jewelry store (thank god- I hate jewelry stores with cheap mass produced crap that's not original, not to mention pushy sales people ugh). Their shop is actually in a shared work space with a couple other businesses too. And it's in a historic building right in central highlands. Very good location. A little hard to find at first but their sign hangs outside near the front door so that helped us find it. There are those black bars on the front door, which initially made me hesitate, but once we went upstairs to their office, I was immediately not worried. I was all "whew"! Abby's design studio is too cute! Not at all traditional but in a fantastic, artsy, and very inviting way. I worked with Abby and her team on the design part then my partner made me take a backseat in the production phase...he wanted to still surprise me. This woman and her team are absolutely amazing!!! My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 years and when we moved back to Colorado we both were ready to take the next step. I inherited a family ring that I was going to use and redesign to make it more personal - all we needed to find was a jeweler to bring it to life. I found Abby through social media and I absolutely loved her work because it wasn't cookie cutter and there was a lot of variety- a true test that she can do anything you ask. I set up a meeting immediately and let me tell you she blew mine and my boyfriends socks off! She was so incredibly personable, straight forward, kind, and genuine. She got exactly what I wanted and took us step by step with what to expect through the process. I have recently purchased my second ring from Abby Sparks Designs. I purchase four gems while on a trip to Brazil last year, and had Abby Sparks create designs for each stone. Two of the rings are gifts, one for my mom, the other for my sister. The first ring was made into a piece fit for a queen. It was a pear shape citrine surrounded by sapphires in a gold setting. My mother loved it, and so did all my friends! I like it so much I was tempted to keep it for myself. The second ring was recently finished, and is completely different from the first. Its a green tourmaline with pink sapphires on the sides, set in rhodium plated silver. It has some serious rockability. It is such a great ring, I can dress it down or up, and have been getting many compliments on it. The best part is that they are unique pieces, with a great story behind them, and an even better design experience that will forever make me completely attached to them. I am a very satisfied customer, and can't wait for my other two rings! Really great experience working with Abby and Lindsay on both the engagement ring and wedding ring for my now fiancé. I was nervous, especially about choosing the center diamond, and didn't really know where to start. Abby sat down with me (and later with both of us) and walked us through her design and production processes. Abby's studio is very innovative and unlike the traditional jewelry stores, which was a good thing since I needed guidance and one-on-one service, especially since my fiancé's engagement ring is a huge financial commitment. Abby hand sketched the designs based on what my fiancé wanted. We were able to customize every single aspect of the ring and cater it to our wishes. Once we had a solid design direction, I paid the 50% deposit to officially get started. Lindsay ran my credit card right then and there. My fiancé and I picked her center diamond based on what Abby had narrowed down from what we wanted. It was a hands on process that I can't say more good things about. We worked one-on-one with Abby to design the perfect custom engagement ring. She was terrific! She walked us through the design process, complete with sketches of the our engagement ring, then the CAD models, and even pictures of the rough casting. We searched high and low for someone in Denver that designs and makes engagement rings here in Denver and finally we found her! We encountered many that claim to offer "custom" or "unique" engagement rings and wedding rings but in reality they merely pop a stone into a setting that is mass manufactured. We even encountered a couple of people that said they do custom rings but then said they couldn't show us the CAD or wax models of our custom ring. Why can't you show us the CAD or wax if you make jewelry from scratch like you claim?! Busted! So then we knew they were lying. Bringing us back to Abby....she's the real deal, custom creator! Let me start by saying Abby is amazing to work with! Both herself and her assistant Lindsay are focused on detail and designing the perfect ring. My original engagement ring was also custom made, but the quality was less than professional. The ring itself was so heavy due to all the gold used, their are emeralds in my ring and gold was folded over the emeralds. Abby really lessoned to what I wanted in my dream ring and she made it a reality. She also made sure to keep my ring small. I'm a size 5 and my ring has 3 half caret diamonds so it could have been easy to make the design feel heavy. She also designed a ring that looked just like me. I did a lot of research, and other designers in Denver all their rings look alike. Abby truly designs the ring for you, that fits your style not her own. I am truly happy with my engagement ring and wedding band. I'm so pleased I'm planning on using some emeralds from my original ring to design a pendent for my mother. Abby produced a necklace for our 40th wedding anniversary consisting of rubies and diamonds in a gold placement. I could not have been more pleased with the final design and my wife truly loved the gift. I work full time in Italy and wanted a custom gift for my wife and communicated the design by sending sketches via an e-mail. Abby immediately generated several beautiful rendered concepts and pricing, we discussed the final design via phone calls and txt messages and moved forward in short order with a down payment. The final necklace match exactly the design requested including the engraving of initials and dates on the back. The schedule was compressed as I was returning to the States to celebrate the anniversary and the necklace needed to be ready on a very specific date. Abby met this date and it was a pleasure to finally meet Abby in person when I picked up the completed design. Just like a mom & pop place with one on one service. Came here on a recommendation from a coworker who purchased rings and diamonds here. Staff was knowledge and honest. We ended up getting my wedding band here and it came out just as they said it would. Clean fitting, looking and the exact style we spoke about. I was a little hesitant with the sizing they work me through the process and ended up fitting just right. I would definitely come back to this place to purchase additional jewelry in the future. They even get flowers to the women as they walk and that's classy service. Don't forget to check out the entrance vestibule, it's pretty sweet looking.
