I went in for a tour last week. While I was there, I noticed a rope hanging from the gate in the…read moreplayground. It didn't take long for a little child to come up and put the rope around her neck. It took the teachers longer than what I was comfortable with to tell the child to stop - I actually had to intervene before the teachers got there. Other things I saw: a baby eating a Froot Loop off the floor, the battery cover to a baby swing dangling off (batteries exposed), a napper in a crib (which is a suffocation hazard - not sure if it was there for storage or if they use it like that on babies). Teachers and babies were in this classroom - it wasn't an empty room. I also didn't see toys for the children to play with. It was just babies sitting in a room with some adults. I also saw: dirty/dingy carpets that the older kids play on, the sides of the rubber tiles in the splash pad rolled up due to being exposed to the elements (tripping hazard), and the tour guide telling me sometimes they mix up the baby bottles - they try not to but it happens (dangerous for babies with allergies or for sick babies). The menu also looked lack-luster. I would have expected healthier options from a Montessori, but I'm new to all this so who knows. On the plus side, the kids seemed happy and the staff seemed nice, albeit lax on safety. The price is good. The older kids' classrooms had more to them in terms of stimulation and activity.

Both our girls attended Kids Clubhouse from the time they were infants and still attend their…read moresummer camp and before/after school program when needed. The director and all the teachers treat every single kiddo like their own and are so loving and kind to every kid. My girls still run up to their old teachers to give them hugs when we go up there. When my oldest (now 10yrs old) started going when she was 6 months old we had been at a not so great daycare before and I was apprehensive to say the least. The staff put me at ease very quickly and were always responsive when I had questions or would call during the day to check on my baby. My youngest (now 6) started when she was 8 weeks old. Both of my kids attended until they graduated the Pre-K program there and went to Kindergarten. They also offer a service where you can log in to a secure site and view your child in their classroom(s). That was such a nice bonus when they would have events like Go Texan Day or their Valentine's parties when I couldn't be there but still felt like I was a part of it. If you want your children in a loving and family focused environment you definitely need to go take a tour of the facility. I promise you will not be disappointed!

I was really excited to start my 2 year old son at this Montessori school. Unfortunately, after…read morejust a month I had to pull him out due to ongoing safety concerns. Their lack of communication between the morning and afternoon teacher, and ultimately to me the parent, was horrific. I was told repeatedly by his afternoon teachers they didn't know what had happened when their was a cut or bruise. I'm sure the cuts and bruises were all innocent enough, but I also know what other daycare standards are and Greystone House Montessori proved to be far below par in comparison. I would be extremely cautious before starting your child here. I'm usually not one to leave a review but since this is a place where people leave their most precious assets on a daily basis I felt it was necessary. The following were my concerns and experience with Greystone House Montessori: - Week 1 and 2: I found a few small scratches on my son and I wasn't told about them. -Week 3: Monday he came home with a few more scratches. I wasn't told about them. I contemplated bringing them up the next day, not because they were big, but because he kept getting scratched and I wasn't being told. This made me think his teachers hadn't seen them, and if they hadn't seen them, were they paying enough attention to him? Tuesday as I picked my son up and began walking out I saw a scratch that went from the middle of his chest to his armpit. I hadn't been told about it. I walked back and asked what happened to him. I was told they didn't know and he hadn't cried all day. His teacher said she did notice it after his nap but thought it looked old. His chest was bright red where the scratch was. Wednesday I picked my son up and noticed he had 2 small but deep cuts behind his ear. Again, I wasn't told about them. I walked back in and found the assistant director. I told her what had been happening and showed her my sons scratches. She said she wasn't sure why I didn't get an incident report for the cuts behind his ear and that she would find out what was happening. Thursday I was called and informed that after speaking with his morning teacher my son and 2 other students really liked to play together. They assume the scratches were happening during play time and would talk to the parents to remind them to keep their kids nails short. They also said they would work with the kids about gentle hands. Friday as I got to daycare his teacher was cleaning 2 cuts on his face that were bleeding. When I asked what happened she said she didn't know he hadn't cried. I did get an accident report. The assistant director also called to check in. Week 4 -Towards the end of the week I got off early and got to the daycare just as my son sat down to eat his afternoon snack. I sat next to him to let him finish. His teachers (2 in the classroom) were handing out food and watching the children. Most of which were sitting at their tables, 2 children were still sleeping on their cots. A little girl in front of me put too much food in her mouth and began to gag until she threw up. His teachers hadn't noticed so I told them. They both took her to the attached bathroom leaving the other children unattended. One came back a minute or so later. As my son finished his snack and we began to leave, I noticed one of the sleeping boys get up and walk to the outside door to play on the playground. He pushed the door open and stood their holding the door. I waited a minute to see if his teachers had noticed. They hadn't. The final week, I picked my son up on Wednesday and as I was putting him in the car I noticed a small bruise on his head and a band-Aid on his elbow. I wasn't told about either. I went back to ask what had happened and again was told she didn't know but she had noticed the bruise on his head. The assistant director called and told me while playing outside my son fell but his morning teacher didn't think he fell hard enough to leave a bruise. That was the final straw for me. Any head injury, big or small, mark or not, should be reported to the parent even if it is just verbally upon leaving. The staff seem to be lacking basic safety training and communication skills both with each other and the parents.

They are so patient with the kids and really treat them like their own. Its hard to leave your kids in anothers care. Trust me though, you can't choose better than greystone!

My old boy has earned straight A's while in the GT program in public school. My little one will have his kinder garden ceremony the middle of this month and he is already two grade levels ahead per IOWA testing. We are glad and grateful that we made a right decision to send kids to LMS although the place is not very close to where we live. I would highly recommend this preschool to parents, you won't regret it. Due to school's good reputation, they usually have waiting list, act quickly if you want to enroll your kids.

This was a disappointing experience from the start. My son started in the 2 year old classroom and…read moreimmediately regressed academically. After he turned 3 we had parent teacher conference and his teacher told us he was not ready to move to the next classroom. Her reason was he did not meet the maturity and developmental requirements to move up. Less than 2 months later they told us he was moving to the next classroom (he had not shown improvement on the areas previously mentioned). There were inconsistencies at home and I expressed to his then current teacher, new teacher, and the director that I did not think he would handle the transition well at that time. They moved him anyway and he started showing signs of physical aggression which he never had before. I understand the need to protect teachers and other students, but this was poorly addressed. About 10 days into the new class we had a meeting with the new teacher and the owner stating we would need to pick him up early when he was having behaviors and have consequences once taken home. Later that day we were called to pick him up early. The following day they allowed him to stay a full day even though he was having behaviors and at pickup we were told he was not welcome to come back to the school. We were given 1 day, one early pickup to put into practice their action plan. The school did not take into consideration the parents concerns. They thought they knew better.

Staff and leadership were dismissive and lacking professionalism. Most incidents were never reported or documented leading to a lack of transparency and accountability.

I asked and was told that the door cannot be locked from the inside the classroom to prevent kids from straying into the playground. Apparently the class is too large that their staff cannot stop or prevent 3 year olds from straying outside. They exercised zero patience for a 3 year old autistic child and kicked him out. I will be filing a discrimination complaint with the proper authorities because I feel like the poor kid is being discriminated against for his disability. So buyer beware.
