Our home sustained some damage from a storm late last summer. We had missing shingles, damaged siding and gutters. I spoke to a number of contractors and received estimates from a few of them. I ended up going with ABC because I felt very comfortable with Peter the rep that I was dealing with. He was easy to work with and always available to answer my questions and take my calls. He did most of the legwork dealing with my insurance company, he made the entire process very easy. The entire process went perfectly and I am very happy with the end results. The ABC crews were professional and cleaned up after themselves very well. I recently had wind damage on my facia trim on the apex of my roof. I called every roofing company in the Elburn area for repairs and had no luck getting any response, but I got an immediate response from ABC. They were out the next day and made the repairs. The workers also checked another section for damage and refastened some weak areas to prevent further wind damage. Had siding done on my home and there had to be a different problem almost every step in the project head by Dean H - First after picking our siding wasn't notified that the type of siding wasn't Available on the day of projected work to start - so we where forced to pick different siding in a selection of maybe only 5 choices much different from the original 50 or so previous shown - in addition are start date was pushed back serval months - a window was also to be put in and no measurements where made - but again this was pushed back also and was giving only one choice of window - When the project was started mid way through Dean tryed to shake me down for additional money saying there wasn't enough material and I requested only half the house to be done , - I asked him what kind of customer gets only have of a house sided !!??? I reminded him there was a contract sign for the whole house . And lo and behold there was plenty of material already present on the property - and then some . Dean simple wanted to rip me off . They met up with my insurance adjuster to Review and covered all damages through my insurance . Let me tell you it was a very stress free process and job was completed to my satisfaction . I had ABC Roofing & Siding replace my roof and gutters in the summer of 2019. Gutter was badly done and poorly managed. They left a large amount of nails around the house. I spent over a week collecting the hardware off the ground. Gutter team was sloppy and uncourteous. Few months later, I had a problem with icicle dripping in a very repetitive and annoying fashion at a couple of places around the gutter. I called them for help but they flatly refused to even show up to investigate my grievance. Tried many time to contact their customer service & sales office. No return calls. Nothin! It is too early to tell if the Roofing was done correctly but the Roofing team was courteous and helpful. All in all I can't recommend them as there are plenty of reputable more responsive roofers around the area. Warranty is an important part of the work scope and I just don't feel confident that they will back me up if I have a problem. I hope that I don't have to resort to legal action to enforce my roof warranty if a problem arises. Update: July 30, 2020 With recent rain, I can see a number of spots in the newly installed gutter where water leakages are apparent. Can't see the roof. Hope it's intact. I may have to hire a reputable company to check my entire gutter system. I know my insurance will not cover this expense! read more

I live in a town home community and this contractor was hired to complete roof replacement, siding repair and gutter replacement. The project manager, Mike, was extremely rude and condescending. When I inquired about scheduled work hours and the process, he was very loud, combative, rude and insulting. He didn't listen to my questions and simply answer them - instead, he scolded me for not knowing the answers, told me he did everything he could do to inform residents, and told me that I was unintelligent or couldn't read, Maybe he was having a bad day or got complaints during the day...I really don't know. What I do know is that his response to me was completely unwarranted and unacceptable. My conversation with him left me without the appropriate answers I needed - workers were on my roof at 7:15 am the following morning while I showered (I have a sky light). I sent him a message to inform him of the incident and he responded by lying to me telling me that he verbally told me and confirmed via text that the workers would be there at 7. if that were true, I would have woken up earlier and left the house before the noise began. Later the condo board member managing the work told me that they were permitted to begin work at 7:30 am. I received a final text from the Project Manager that is a great example of communication from a defensive contractor that is always right and doesn't listen to his customers...."I am on site and if you'd like to complain to me about all the inconveniences you've encountered if be glad to talk to you. All I'm doing is trying to coordinate this project to the best of my ability and I've given each occupant notice". Everything except the communication with the Project Manager, Mike, seemed okay. I did not inspect the work personally. The work was completed pretty quickly and debris was cleaned upon completion. The workers on the building stopped and moved things if we needed to come and go. Perhaps there are kinder, more service oriented Project Managers on staff that can offer a more positive experience. I hope so! :) read more

My parents were told they had damage to their roof with pictures. Well to make a long story short, he was supposed to meet at their house with the State Farm rep to represent them. My husband and I recently bought our first home. We called ABC Roofing because some shingles needed to be repaired. They sent over Ben, who stated that we had wind damage and that he could get us a new roof because our roof was older, and that it might be covered by our homeowners insurance. Long story short, when Ben found out that my insurance wasn't going to cover the new roof and the minor damages, he was speechless. After he asked me to file a claim on my property, he didn't want anything else to do with our roof. So, in other words, I was deceived!! jokes on me. When I asked Ben if there was anyone who could come out and repair my shingles, he said, "NO, you have to wait until it gets warmer because NO ONE is repairing roofs in the cold," to which I replied, "that's not what you told me." "There's nothing else we can do," Ben continued, "you can find someone else to do your roof." So when he didn't get the job he wanted, which was the entire roof job, he disappointed my husband and I. I did, in fact, contact another roofing company, and my shingles were repaired the following day. This mishap taught me a valuable lesson. read more

I highly recommend​ ABC Roofing. I called Ken directly after we found some of our neighbors on 'next door' app had recommended​ him. I started to call around to a couple of companies to see if someone was able to come to​ fix a crack that I had on a gutter that was causing water damage to a window. I called on Friday realizing​ that the forecast called for 100% rain on Monday so I was looking to get someone in over the weekend. It was last minute. Ken was one of the few that actually answered. The majority of companies have an ​answering machine, ( I didn't hear back from them up until Monday,) which was too late for my issue. Ken, was very friendly and professional. He already had a packed schedule for the weekend and still took the time to speak with me. He stated that he would call me if anything opened up (meaning if someone canceled or if he was able to find some time,) but he offered to drive by and take a look on Friday night just to see the problem. I happened to have pictures so I texted him the picture and he explained what needed to be done to correct the ​issue. He informed me, that he would try to find some time, but advised me to try to call around just in case he couldn't make it, because he knew the urgency of my need to have this gutter repaired before the rain on Monday. He even told me what to tell the other companies on how I wanted the gutter repaired. I really appreciated his advise and concern. It was too late by the time I reached Ken on Friday, so Saturday and Sunday were my only options. On Saturday he wasn't able to come but texted me to let me know he would fit me in first thing Sunday morning. He came and repaired the crack and he walked my roof to see its condition and offered to pull off the tarp that another roofer had placed on the roof. That roofer nailed the tarp with many nails and it was causing an issue where water started to creep in. Ken offered to seal all the nails that were​ causing an issue. Other roofers and public adjusters told me that I needed a new roof. I was so worried about this roof for months and not having the money to replace and Ken told me my roof is fine that I do not need a new​ roof. He is also a public adjuster and explained that my roof is fine, that it may need to be sealed eventually​ but I have many years left with that roof. I appreciate his honesty, and it took off so much pressure I was feeling about the stress of the roof needing to be replaced. I will definitely​ call Ken first next time​.​ If this helps, just an F.Y.I some of my neighbors had told me that the other roofers go to ABC roofing for their supplies, so why not go to ABC directly. Monday rain has passed and the water stayed out of my building thanks to Ken. The price was very fair and he fixed the issue. He is one of the good guys, call him first. read more

I had the pleasure of speaking with James about two weeks ago first via phone and days later he came to my home. It was my understanding from our phone call he was coming to give me a quote. Upon him arriving at my home he informed me he tried to get here before the rain but was unable to therefore couldn't do the roof inspection and give a quote. We talked about 30 minutes, when asked if he would be able to come back out to give me a quote prior to the adjustor coming out, James said he would just come out to complete the inspection with the adjustor. Although upon him leaving it didnt appear he had a ladder to even get on the roof to give me a quote. The adjustor came out on Sunday, James was a no show though we'd texted the day before and he made it seem as though he would be here (maybe too much holiday partying). I texted James on Sunday to tell him that State Farm was here and he just responded ok. I texted him again on Tuesday just to follow up but I didnt receive a response. I'm not going to chase him to complete the needed work at my home. Maybe this is a multi-million dollar company and they don't need my residential business. I've learned if you find that a company is unable to keep their word in the beginning just move forward and that's exactly what I've decided to do. Thanks but no thanks! read more

They installed my roof in Feb of 2016 after it was leaking from hail damage. Within a week Shingles blew off and the roof leaked. Within 2 months I had another leak. In 5 months from that I had a 3rd leak. They fixed all 3 leaks but now I have interior damage to my house. My insurance company paid me $1600 for the original damage to the inside of my house, which I mistakenly gave to ABC because I didn't realize it was included in the final check for the roofing job. They never told me they had my $1600, which they had for almost a year. I would have never found out had I not called my insurance company and requested the money. They gave me my $1600 back but they had it for a year without telling me. I never fixed the original damage because every time the roof leaked ABC told me to wait in case there was additional leaks and promised they would take care of the additional damage. So after the 3rd leak I waited 2 months and then called 3 drywall contractors to get 3 estimates. The contractors all bid between $9,000 and $10,300 to do the repairs. I called ABC to discuss payment which should have been $10,300 - $1600 = $8700. They said no way were they paying it. They sent one of their contractors out to look at it and TRIED to say it could just be sanded and painted for $4000 when the drywall was peeling and there is mold in the drywall. I told them they are not a drywall company. They are a roofing company. So why then when they didn't even put my roof on right would I trust them to do my drywall for $6000 dollars less than the professionals were willing to do it for. I told them I wanted my own contractor to do it. They said no refused to pay for the damage that they promised to take care of. My insurance company told me they are not going to pay for the additional damage so now I am stuck with$10,300 dollars worth of damage to my interior of my house and $1600 to pay for it. read more

We had damage to our roof and gutters due to a storm, and abc quoted us a very good price - promised impeccable clean up, care and professionalism. Unfortunately, all that was promised was not reality. They left the "drip edge" damaged with bare wood exposed, forgot to do the flashing on the chimney, and even failed to roof part of the roof - a small balcony area. They left MANY nails in our yard, most of which my 4 year old found, there was even a nail wedged into the hatchback of the car. The gutter installer smoked like a chimney, and would light up as I was talking to him - not cool. All in all, I am satisfied I guess with the roof, now that it is finished. I am convinced that construction "professionals" are few and far between, it is always a hassle, they are always late, never do what they say and charge you extra for their mistakes. read more

Called and spoke to receptionist regarding leaky roof, was told that I would get a call soon. That was nine days ago and still no call.

It took two phone calls to setup an estimate. The sales rep that came to us was named Mark, and he seemed well versed and was quick at getting us an estimate as well as leaving us with material to help inform us of our roofing options. ABC gave us a great price compared to the other three estimates I received from other roofing companies in the area. I really wish I could get my roof replaced by ABC, but after four calls spanning the last week with the non-committal "I'll have someone call you back" every time I attempt to continue to setup a contract means I'll have to keep looking. Wish they had better customer service so I could actually use them... I give two stars for Mark, but wish ABC got their act together. --------------------------- It took 5 calls before I got a call back from ABC Roofing. We ended up going with them still to have our roof done because their price was too good to turn down. It took less than a week from the day we signed the contract to have a group of contractors show up to do our roof. They were on time (7am) and completed the roof early (2:30ish). From my personal inspection of the work, it looks good. I found no debris on my property, and the little bit that had blown over my neighbors fence while they had been working had also been cleaned up. I would gladly have given ABC Roofing 4-5 Stars, but the service I received from their office was very poorly handled with the constant "I'll have someone call you back later" response. So for now, I'll have to stick with 3 stars. read more

I found ABC roofing company to be exemplary with their follow-up work on a difficult flat roof project they performed for me. The initial roof was installed by a group out of Florida that was brought North to help out with storm damage. Unfortunately the installation was faulty. A year later I contacted the Aurora, il. Office. They sent out a representative to see what was the problem. The gentleman sent was very friendly and said the company would stand by their work and fix the problem. It was a very busy summer for the company due to many rainy days. When they were finally able to get to my roof, it was Fall. What I was very happy with is that they not only fixed the roof, they did it with the best materials they could use. My MAIN POINT is that I think this company is committed to stand by their work. They provided us with better shingles than the other quotes and was more in line in what we had hoped to spend. AND this time I got my attached neighbor to get one two.....TWO customers, one job. After being inundated with "storm chasers" as a result of a severe hailstorm, we chose ABC Roofing to replace our roof. They did not chase our business ~ we called them based on their BBB rating among other things. They sent a huge crew to our home and did a complete tear off and replace of 2 roofs in 1 day. The next day, we found several nails in the driveway where the roll-off had been and also found several in the yard. We called them and they were out to our home within an hour. They ran the magnet around again and resolved the issue. We also had an issue of some leakage coming from somewhere around the fireplace stack. Called them and, once again, they were out to our house within an hour. They caulked around the chimney collar and that should fix the problem. I'm extremely happy with their immediate response to the issues we had. I'd recommend them to anybody considering a new roof ~ their pricing was great and their customer service is very good. read more
