Found a fancy Filipino food restaurant in SM Megamall. It was very good but pricy. We came here for lunch so not as many people were there but once we were done, the place was crowded. Also, there were many business people here. The place is very modernly decorated. This place can accommodate big groups. This is what we ordered for our group: Appetizers: Sinuteng Baby squid - like adobo squid due to lots of garlic (my fave) Kinilaw na Tanigue - very good and fish belly was delish with spicy peppers Pickled mango - this was free but I could not enjoy it since this was so salty! Main dishes: Laing w/ Tinapa - very good Kare Kare - very good and tripe was very soft Green mango & Bagoong salad - good but too salty for me to just eat by itself Binukadkad na Pla Pla - very moist tilapia deep fried. Outside was salty but was ok balanced. Dessert: Dessert was recommended by our waiter and was not on the menu - this had macapuno ice cream with mango and suman inside - so so good! Drink: Mango shake - awesome of course Calamansi drink - super sweet and had to drink Fresh Buko juice - so much juice and lots of Biko meat to have! One of the best fancy Filipino restaurants in the area. No reservations necessary! I recommend this place. [120/100]

    Crispy Tadjang with Laing

Abe has become one of my favorite Filipino restaurants as of late last year. I like how their branches have this modern bahay kubo appeal to it. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We would usually order their Crispy Tadjang partnered with Laing or Sinigang na Baboy. I also like the fact that they can adjust the food ingredients according to the allergy of the customer since my friend was allergic to shrimp, they opt to remove the shrimp from the Laing. I like their Cripsy Tadjang that has enough crispiness to it without being to rubbery and still easy to chew. This place is also a rice fan haven since their serving of rice is unlimited. If its your first time to try this place, make sure to have a big appetite since most of their servings is good for two or more people. Their Megamall branch also has a small function room that can hold about 20 people.

Excellent customer service with delicious meals and plenty of options on their menu. This is our second time dining at Locavore but first time at Brixton Street in Estancia location. Customer service at Brixton Street, Estancia is consistent with the BGC location. The staff is also very well versed with food allergies. The staff was great every step of the way from seating, to ordering, to delivering our orders on a timely manner and until the very end. Our party of 11 ordered 2 of everything like to name a few of what we ordered are, Pakbet Ratatouille, Octadobo, Oyster Palabok sa Puti, Tapsilog, Boneless Lechon Belly, Dragonfruit chips and many more. We look forward to dining at Locavore every time we visit Philippines. Locavore both provided delicious food and excellent customer service.

I'd been wanting to try Filipino food, and this place came highly recommended by some locals. The food was incredible. I tried the sizzling sinigang, and it completely surprised me. The flavor was sour, savory, and comforting all at once. I also had the oyster sisig, which was crispy, rich, and perfect with a cold San Miguel beer. Every dish came out hot and well-presented. The restaurant itself has a great vibe!!! lively but not too loud. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially since I wasn't too familiar with Filipino dishes. They explained what everything was and even suggested a few must-tries. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Philippines. And I'll definitely come back next time!

The portion was moderate and it can feed 2 people. It was hot and crunchy and the sauce was pretty good. The pinakbet with pork liempo was awesome, please keep in mind that pinakbet in some regions are cooked without the sabaw (sauce). The eggplant was definitely fried. The bitter melon and the kombucha squash were steamed well. The pork was super crunchy!!! Please also note that one order of pinakbet will probably good for 2 people but I can definitely devour it on my own! The kare kare with crispy pork was also good. The sauce was slurry and not too thick. The string beans, banana heart (puso ng saging) and bok choy were steamed and cooked well. They were not soggy but crunchy. Also the eggplant was fried and added with the sauce. When you order kare kare it automatically comes with sautéed shrimp paste. This dish alone will probably feed 4 people. Overall the service was great, we did not wait long for the food, and we were seated right away since we arrived there around 11:45ish. The restaurant was clean and quite cozy. There's one bathroom for both genders. Total of all the meals including 1 sugarcane calamansi juice refill P1745.00 (also includes gratuity charges).

Back then, if you've been living in Manila for most of your life, the words "food" and "court" in the same sentence never really sounded appetizing. Enter Hole in the Wall. I've been here a few times already, but stepping inside its huge hip maze of interiors never ceases to excite me. I'm not sure if it's the thrill of choosing what meal to try next or just the nice aesthetic of literally everything, that excites me more. On my first visit, I made sure to first try the super popular fried chicken from Bad Bird. As a big fan Southern-style fried chicken, I wasn't disappointed. The crispy skin had a yummy seasoning that's new to the palette, very different compared to my other favorites, such as the Chickenjoy from Jollibee and the Pan Fried Chicken from Pancake House. And there's something about their side dishes that just completes the whole meal. The corn on the cob with bonito flakes, sweet and umami flavors melting in your mouth, was to die for. The coleslaw provided a nice acidic break from the saltiness of the chicken. The meal was a fun experience itself. Just the other day, I tried the Pastrami on Rye from Mr. Delicious and it was monstrous--just plain impressive in terms of size. I didn't even attempt to bite on the entire stack, using my fork and knife like a pretentious chick on a first date instead. Each bite off the monster-wich was packed with so many different flavors, though the pastrami still easily emerges as the hero of the dish. And let's not get started on the sweet potato chips. I'm not a big sweet potato-lover, but damn, the portion was more than satisfying. If there's anything I'd like modified, I just wish there was a bit more of the veggie pickles to cut through all the meat and fat. For now, I'll end this review right here. If it isn't yet so obvious, I'll probably be back here in no time to try a different food stall or two.
