Most parks are wide open sunny spaces. Abercrombie Park has lots of trees, but also has smooth grassy lawns shaded by those trees. No undergrowth at all. Plenty of parking in a shaded lot so your car isn't sweltering when you're ready to leave. Fantastic place for a picnic. read more

Small yet majestic hidden gem of a park. Winding trees overhead provide ample shade and are just beautiful. SEE PIC Faces west and on the water, so would be a great place to quietly watch the sunset. SEE PIC Popular amongst locals for walking their dogs. There are also some wooden walkways, could walk the whole thing in 15-20 minutes, so not very large but worth checking out for some quiet, shaded reflection! read more

Um hello totally hidden park gem! Would actually have never expected such a magical park that unfolds like this in the middle of this old neighborhood. The trails are windy and it feels so much bigger than it is because of this. A lot of great parking (free) and easy to access from the road. It's still very quiet and peaceful. The perfect spot for #WalkingForExercise. There is even water access for paddle boarding and kayaks. read more

Absolute hidden gem!! I was just driving around St Pete at dusk and randomly drove by this park. On the map it looked like it went to the water so I parked and checked it out. Boy am I glad I did!! This park may be small but it holds great history and beautiful views. There is a short paved sidewalk that is shaded with canopy lines trees. It leads to a beach area directly on the water where there is a bench with a perfect sunset view! There was also a good amount of open green space as well as perfect hammock trees. There were a couple boardwalks off the main path that I didn't venture to but looked nice. This is a dog friendly park but they must be on a leash. The main sidewalk is definitely handicap accessible as well! read more

Perfect for pups!!! All shades and leads to the water. The only thing missing is a water fountain.

My dog loves this park! We come here all the time for walks. I always have her on a leash because, even though she listens to me, there are a lot of other big dogs around. All the people that I have ran into at this park are extremely friendly and almost all of them have their dogs on leashes. It's clean and shaded with lots of big beautiful trees. If you walk all the way down the cement path you will run into the water where your dog can go for a swim or you can throw a kayak in. They have a nice private parking lot in front to park. Sometimes it gets busy and you have to park on the side street. read more

Wile 60 Percent of the World's Biodiversity is already gone and they are busy chopping down all the biodiversity in Abercrombie Park. As usual like typical suburbanites bent on the habitat destruction of every living thing in their path they are also spraying cancer causing Roundup all over the place. This place was super cool, had a really peaceful nature feel to it, all kinds of different plants and those cool vines with the really big leaves but they recently trashed a big area with a bulldozer and continue chopping, hacking down everything and even spraying Monsanto's cancer poison "Roundup" on the ferns. Soon their won't be anything left but one kind of tree and grass. read more

This is a beautiful, peaceful park. The only downside is that some dog owners dont keep their dogs on leashes. I was by the water and a woman was letting her 2 bigger dogs run free. When I was walking in and out a lot of ppl with small dogs let them run freely too. I have a smaller dog who is skittish, but always leashed. read more

This was one of those times where I should have read the Yelp reviews and not just looked at the rating. If I had seen Coonie's review I would have known not to go. This review is for people who have leash re-active dogs, or don't like dogs. I specifically picked out this park because it looked cool, like a jungle. It seemed to have a lot of shade, and dogs are required to be on leashes. I took my two leash re-active dogs here for a walk. The park is lovely. There is a long cement path down the middle from the road to a small beach. If you want even more of a jungle feel there's a board walk that weaves between the trees. Per Connie's review, this is also the park all the neighbors use as their very own dog park. I had to ask every dog owner I saw to stop their dog from trying to greet my dogs. All of them were terribly offended. It's unfortuante because this really is a neat park. read more

Gorgeous park on the water and very dog friendly. I frequent this park on a regular basis with my Labradoodle. What I like about the park is that you walk with the dog down to the water, which is about a block or two. On the way, your dog can run and play with other dogs. Some people let their dogs off leash, which the County prohibits, however, you are far enough away from the road that it's pretty safe to do so. I have taken my dog to dog parks that are fenced, and I found that dogs who frequent those places tend to be territorial. This played out on the second visit to a fenced dog park with my overly friendly dog being attacked viciously by another dog. So, I stay clear of those places. I love Abercrombie and find there is something for everyone here. Dog lovers or just nature lovers. At the end of the walk, you are greeted by a beautiful beachfront on Boca Ciega Bay. Sometimes you can see manatees and dolphins off shore and always beautiful birds. It's a lovely place! read more

This park is gorgeous, but I couldn't find a bathroom and felt everyone should know to go before you visit this cute little waterside park.
