This is such a great place to walk and enjoy the sunshine! You can't beat the waterfront views, close proximity to the pier, and occasional wildlife sightings like dolphins. You can tell this park is well-maintained with plenty of grass for a picnic with friends, family walks, and more. Love that there is so much parking nearby, too. I love how the parks in downtown St. Pete all connect. Because of that, I have been here many times. It's a nice secluded park in the corner. It's right down the street and next to the beautiful Vinoy hotel(grand and pink hotel). Nice water views and you can see the pier across the water. The marina is there too where people park their boats. The boat ferry is not far from this park. And across from this park is north straub park which has Xmas lights. There's other parks as you keep walking and it's a nice walking or jogging or biking spot. Keep walking and you will see a beach area, tennis courts, restroom, and a community pool. There is often festivals on this side as well. Parking is street parking and a parking lot not too far away! read more

I really wanted to stop here after asking some locals what their favorite park was and being told about Vinoy Park. The park is named for the historic Vinoy Hotel which sits adjacent to it. Built in 1925 and originally called Vinoy Park, it was the largest and most opulent of the land boom hotels built in the city. It was recently renovated and you can still stay there today. Vinoy Park is located along Tampa Bay. This 11.6 acre d park has some of the best water views in St. Petersburg. Sometimes you can spot manatees and dolphins in the bay from the park. The park is popular for its paved recreation trails used by walkers, runners, and bikers. This park is also used by the city to stage concerts, festivals, events, and holiday decorations including a giant Christmas tree. After visiting I concur that St. Petersburg has many beautiful parks and this may be the most picturesque of all. Perfect for exercise, picnics, and taking in the gorgeous water views, Vinoy Park is one of St. Petersburg's top destinations. read more

We have been here for several events and this is the first time I remembered to write a review. We attended the Tampa Bay Blues Fest and this setting is perfect. Yes, it was super unorganized to get in and we waited an hour and missed half the first band, but that isn't the parks fault. The park is laid out well, and bringing chairs is the way to go. There is also the seawall where you can sit and watch the water, see the Pier and also listen to music. It's an easy walk from downtown St Pete and is really nice. read more

I had an absolute blast here. I went here for the reggae fest rise up; there were so many different bands so many different food trucks so many different vendors. My favorite part about this park is that it's literally on the Gulf of Mexico. We sat on the ledge, listened to reggae music, and the water at the same time. A couple of my favorite bands that were there were the green and, of course, Soja. This event is a 3-day event Friday Saturday and Sunday. Next year, we'll definitely be doing all 3 days; we only did Friday this year. I recommend this to people who love reggae, but I don't recommend it if you don't like the smell of marijuana. The marijuana doesn't bother me because I have a medical card. Everybody is so friendly, and I don't know; it's just an amazing event to be at and was glad that I went. This was also a learning experience for us, so I'm gonna give you a couple of tips. If you do come, either bring a couple of chairs for you and whoever's coming with you or bring a blanket. read more

Vinoy Park has left me feeling pretty "Vinoyed". This park has these so called "festivals" that are glorified outdoor markets that charge you an entry fee to get in to blow more money while shopping. I've been to 2 festivals here this year, and they were both exactly the same, with a different name (and both had a ridiculous entry fee). On a whim, I recently went to the Taco and Tequila festival. The entry fee was a whopping $15 CASH PRICE. To use a debit card, it cost $18. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY AND A DAY. For an $18 entrance fee, I was expecting SOMETHING to come with the ticket... a taco... or maybe A tequila tasting.. NOT HERE! There were super long lines for EVERY food truck or alcohol vendor. And the food and beer/liquor prices are what lead me here to "taco" about how horrible this event was. The vendors were literally the same vendors from every other "festival" /outdoor market. The only difference is that other venues don't charge to get in. I DEFINITELY won't go to another "festival" here. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because the area is really beautiful. If you were to come just to hang out at the park and have a picnic or take a stroll, it's absolutely gorgeous. Perfect place for a picnic date. read more

I LOVE Vinoy! Great place to be active or just chill. We go down and pitch the hammocks, relax and watch the dolphins. Its a great place to people watch also. There's a beach, beach volleyball, pool, fitness area, bathrooms and plenty of green space. The pup loves the dog park. Its plenty big and there's also a variety of other pups for her to play with. There's a couple of water stations with bowls and an area on the way out to spray them off. read more

You can easily spend an entire day at Vinoy Park. Pack a lunch, a hammock, a couple of chairs, your pup, maybe a yoga mat...there's plenty of space to hang out and take in the views of Tampa Bay and the Pier. Having lived in Tampa for a long time, I always get asked, "Isnt it great living on the water?" to which I chuckle, having lived relatively inland in the north Tampa suburbs. But hey at least I don't get flooded. Anyway, whenever someone from out of town(friends, relatives) visits us, we almost always come by here for an hour or so. It feels like Fort Lauderdale or Miami. I always love seeing the giant Christmas tree. There are walking paths for people and pooches. The area is well lit at night, and most of the folks walking around are very friendly. I was taking pics with my cousin's family a few days ago and a lady offered to take one with all of us without asking. Granted, I have never come here in summer so perhaps I'm seeing it through rose tinted glasses. There are concerts and events held here but I haven't attended any. I did go to a Farmers market on a weekend morning a few years ago which was nice. If the weather is nice, you can walk 1.2 miles south to the Salvador Dali museum for a fun day. There is only metered parking here alas but the spots are ample. Check it out if you're visiting St. Pete :-) read more

Vinoy Park - The real reason to come here... - Parks Near Me - St. Petersburg, Florida

Lovely park on the bay with walking paths, public bathrooms, water fountains, parking, and benches. Along the stroll through Vinoy you can admire the luxury high rise cityscape, palm trees, fresh grass, and the sparkling waters. Downtown is footsteps away and offers plenty to eat, drink, and shop. The park is large enough for festivals and popular events. I recently attended my first concert at Vinoy and had a great time despite minor inconveniences. Whoever thought an outdoor concert during July in Florida was a good idea must be nuts. I went for my passion for the bands but the weather was brutal. We were rained on and saturated with a breezeless 100% humid atmosphere. The distance from the stage to everything was quite the hike. Not sure if they expected two thousand more fans to show up or what. It was strange how spread apart the vendors and bathrooms were. I'll give them credit for the large quantity of portable toilets on location. I think it's nice that they allow chairs and blankets inside but fans walked all over ours and even stood on it to watch the show. The chairs near the stage were pointless obstacles. I don't think either should be allowed within a certain distance from the stage where fans stand, mosh, surf, and dance. The stage and production weren't great. I think Reggae Rise Up could step it up a few notches. There wasn't the best variety of food options for us gluten free folks, either. Ubering to this even was pretty easy. There was a long, slow moving line to get into the park. Bag check wasn't invasive at all. Walking downtown for dinner afterwards was convenient. Exiting the event was easy. The prices getting home were so inflated we waited them out with dinner and dessert. read more

The downside is parking's a pickle in St. Pete in general and this neighborhood in particular. Expect to circle awhile and shell put some $$ for a spot once you find one. That said, it's almost easier to find dolphins swimming along the shoreline here than it is to find the parking in the first place, which makes it well worth it. This is a must-do stroll for us each time we come to Florida. Realized I hadn't gotten a chance to review it yet and am playing catch up on my reviews of lovely spots for a solo hike, bike, or other journey while practicing social distancing so Vinoy pooped to mind. Great park! Lots of local events are kept here. This night, we were attending the St. Petersburg Seafood Festival! There were various vendors around selling their best seafood, drinks and other merchandise. The stage was in a prime and central location. I liked that the park was very clean and alongside the bay. There's plenty of room for people, lots of trash cans, walkways and grass. I'm not sure if the park has standalone restrooms and a playground but will check and update my review when I go back! Very relaxing location. Has lots of space to spread so you can have your own private spot without people intruding into your personal space. Playground, restroom (gross but there), shade trees, friendly squirrels so hide your belongings. There's a waterpark available although I didn't go in, a soon to open pier. Great park. A lot to do here. They have a dog park, beach area that's great for paddleboarding, playground for kids. On weekends they have festivals and it could be a bit annoying to park but it wasn't bad. Just parked a little further with no issues. Make sure you bring your own water for the pups. When I went I couldn't figure out if the water hose was broken or I just didn't understand it. There's a hose just outside of the gate to wash the pups so if you have a water bowl it's best to use that. All around great park! read more

Why 5 stars? Because what I was thinking, giving it only 4? --- --- --- Looking back to when I first starting writing reviews in 2012, every now and then I'm perplexed at some of my earlier entries. I first visited Vinoy Park for the Taste of Pinellas, and I think I was just so busy that I wasn't able to really take in the park as a whole. I was far too hasty in writing my original review. Fast forward to present day, and I'd label Vinoy Park as one of the most beautiful places in all of Tampa Bay. I wrote my previous review on Curtis Hixon Park, and called it the centerpiece of Downtown Tampa. Well, if that's true, then Vinoy Park is the centerpiece of all of St. Petersburg. You can see manatees here. You can paddleboard. You can walk your dog or go for a run along the water. There are the coolest and oldest trees I've ever seen here. On one side of the park, you have the Gulf. On the other side, you have restaurants, bars and shops as far as the eye can see. And of course, in the middle, is a beautiful park, surrounded by this beautiful scenery. Ask me in 2010 if I'd say this, and I'd tell you that you were crazy... but long live St. Pete! read more

Very nice park. It has wide area of green space near the water. Many events were hold here. Blues Festival is one of them. I would not stay at the apartment close to here due to loud music may escalate to the apartment. The park is very nice. This is where the big fire work from the city and big holiday celebration location. It is nice to have it. It do have some parking at the back of the park. There is a dog park nearby which my yelp friend constantly bring his dog. I would say take the 7th Ave is the easy access to this park. read more

My top hammock location. Between the months of November and March I can most always be found strung up between two palm trees after hours. The palm groves are perfectly spaced, afford excellent shade and with the fresh sea breeze water views and plentiful sunshine -- what more could you want? I love this park, it's so peaceful and relaxing and a really nice place to walk your dogs. It has a trail that you can walk on the edge of the water, it reminds me a little of Miami, there is a little mini beach right there and you can even walk right onto beach drive and have a bite to eat and drink! There is a lot of grassy area and they also have a dog park right there and also a kids park. Parking is very easy as there is a ton of parking and it's free (unless there's an event - which would only be on a weekend, then it's a nightmare) I have frequented this place by myself a lot and always felt very safe, even in the evening. People are very friendly here and it's definitely a nice place for families, couples, everyone. There are public restrooms here. It does not always have a sunset view but sometimes you get lucky! it's still nice to sit on the edge of the wall and just feel the ocean breeze and listen to the sounds of nature! read more

I love Vinoy Park. I have been coming here since I was a teen for concerts, events and just to hang out. This is one of my many zen spots. I can go here and sit on the sea wall and just relax. The view is incredible. There is typically a nice breeze coming in off of the water. There are also a lot of dogs and people that come through the area. You can easily get in a few miles walking around, take your kids to the playground, or play Frisbee with your dog. I can't even count the amount of festivals or concerts I have attended in Vinoy Park. That is one of the cool things about this space. It is beautiful and at one with nature, yet it can be transformed into a spot to hold hundreds of thousands of people overnight. The stages that they bring in are very well done and the sound is not lacking. I almost prefer it to the amphitheater. Within a short distance, there is a public dog park, a public pool, tennis courts, restaurants, and just about everything else you could want or need. I love that they have a cool lit up art piece at night. It makes for some amazing photographs. Vinoy will always be a favorite spot for me. read more

RibFest! I gave it a 4 because: 1. It was my first RibFest and I'm having a blast! 2. There's always room for improvement, right? ;-) There are 13 ,THIRTEEN!! different booths with ribs! They have ALL won numerous awards, so there was no delineating between them. Hence, we decided to get samplers of them all. Bah. We were so ambitious and only made it through 5 before giving up. I say that, yet here I am. Sitting, waiting for another country band to start (it's Sunday-Country music day!!) and if I have a couple more beers I just might be able to share in a few more samplers! The music is fun, on 2 different bandstands, but we rented chairs and after 5 samplers, moving our chairs seems extraordinarily difficult...so, we're waiting for the next band in OUR spot! ;-D Beer, full bar, corn on the cob, arepas, onion rings, funnel cakes, and freshly squeezed lemonade. I refuse to tell you how many of THOSE I tried. Seriously. But, believe me, the entry price of $25 is for the music-the food ranges from $7-$25, and beers are about $7-10.
