I can easily tell which attorneys have a line of 'BS" vs those who are honest, willing to help and offer solid advice. Without a doubt Ms Sara White is a true rare find. She and her office replied almost immediately to our requests. It was followed up with reminder emails. Once my wife and I met Ms White in person it was a good meeting taking care of some estate legal matters. Everything was well organized and the meet went flawlessly. She also took the time to look at a document that was deficient in a writing several years prior. Immediately we had her redo the important documents and set up an additional meeting. Without a doubt.. you do your homework , but do not be fooled by these high cost estate attorneys who want a crazy amount of money for the services and almost scare one into what they are selling. For us we did our homework. Some would not even discuss the fairly new 'Transfer of Death Deeds" and were they even knowledgeable about it, probably because it did not bring them thousands of dollars into the law firms business. We "highly" recommend Ms White for her honest services at a reasonable price! We assure you we have tried others but they dont come close to what she offers her clients. Not only do they charge for speaking with the main lawyer that you are appointed, but you also get charged for their team at the same time. When I found out that my retainer had been blown through and owed more money, they pretty much said that they couldn't help me any further unless I put another $4000 in the retainer. After I told them that I was not going to spend any more money (when all I was able to get was trinkets for my son after a back and forth with my sons fathers evil widow) they sent me another bill for two hours of emails between the widow and myself regarding my sons personal and sentimental belongings and his fathers ashes. They also charged me for the lawyers simply communicating to their front desk regarding me having a family member pick up my son's deceased father's cremations That the widow Wife sent there instead of sending to me directly. Anyway, I experiences will be different, but if you choose this law firm, beware when you were on the phone with them, because they will talk...really...slow, not sure if this is to try to charge more or trying to make sure that I hear every word, but it was painful. Also, I'm not sure how long it takes people to read simple emails and respond, but this place definitely overcharges for every simple little thing. I have dealt with other lawyers and this was an experience and spent more money with them in such a short amount of time than I have with other lawyers. Positive note: They are pretty knowledgeable and respond quickly. They helped make sure that my son retrieved some of his personal belongings that were at his father's residence, a few items that his father left him, and some of his fathers ashes. That's it though. They were going to help me apply for YEARS support for my child and figure out what to do about the estate of my ex husband/father of my child, but I would probably end up spending more money than it's worth. I appreciate the little bit that they did for my son, but do your research on lawyers. Try to keep your phone calls and email short and simple. Google, research, talk to other people, and write down exactly what you are hoping to get done. Personal note for everyone: make sure you have a very thorough Will! do not leave your family with a mess or leave things in the hands of others (evil step parents, untrustworthy family members or so-called friends, etc.). No one likes dealing with lawyers, sometimes they are necessary. just be careful whom you hire.

After signing the agreement, I spoke with the attorney for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes\. I was charged $397 for reviewing three pieces of paperwork and approximately $1,800 for the phone consultation\. The very next day, I received a bill requesting that I replenish the retainer\. What concerned me most was that after I had already signed the agreement, I was told that my case had been changed to something different and that I would need to pay an additional $3,500 for representation\. I was then asked to sign another agreement, close out the original $4,000 retainer, receive only $1,800 back, and enter into another agreement requiring a $7,500 retainer\. This was very different from what I understood when I originally retained the firm\. I was extremely disappointed by the unexpected changes in how my case was being handled and the additional fees being requested\. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this firm ask very detailed questions about the retainer, hourly charges, what services are included, and what happens if the firm later changes how it classifies your case\. Make sure you understand everything in writing before signing\. Based on my experience, I would not hire this firm again\.

Our first no charge consultation was with Amy Byars. She told us they don't do TODD's and that we needed a trust. This was all new to us and this was their way to scam us. We paid $6,200 for will, durable POA, advances health directive and an irrevocable trust. We paid the fee that day and Ms. Byars told us if we changed our mind, we would get our money back and she would see to it. OR better yet we could put it on a credit card, and we could dispute the charge and get our money back that way. We were told by our financial planner we didn't need a trust. What a joke, you can't talk to anyone, only use the case app which is a horrible way to do business. We tried to cancel everything until we knew if our mortgage company would be calling the mortgage and we would have to pay the mortgage in full. Even though this was a one-time charge out the door pricing that wasn't the case. Jennifer Stroble said we can take care of the mortgage for another $350. We had a meeting with Jennifer Stroble and basically, she scared my husband and I into agreeing to the trust, (more money for the firm if we did the trust). This firm is nothing but liars and they will take advantage of you and take your money. My husband and I have not received any of the services we paid for and Nelson Elder Care Law is refusing to give us our money back. We disputed the charge and the firm lied to the bank and we are out $6,200. They terminated our agreement (by the way, Cindy Nelson who is one of the owners sent the letter) with no date on the letter. Why didn't she or her husband give us a call to discuss. They are really good about making a client feel good and then stick it to you. No, we don't have to money to do our estate planning. Thank you very much, Nelson Elder Care Law. He was paid in full before providing services--something I now consider a major red flag. My father's probate was filed on July 2, 2025. After my mother's probate was completed and her Letters of Administration were published beginning March 18, 2026, I repeatedly contacted the attorney by text and email asking about my father's case. Getting answers was extremely difficult. I eventually contacted the probate clerk myself and discovered that documents were missing and the court had already mailed my attorney a letter notifying him of the missing documents. I ultimately received my father's Letters of Administration to publish beginning July 1, 2026--nearly a year after the case was filed. This delay had a real financial impact. I could not get the deed transferred into my name in time to apply for the homestead exemption before the deadline. When I questioned the attorney about the delay, his response was: "No time tables at all with probate. They take their sweet time." I understand that courts have their own timelines. What I expected from the attorney I paid in full was to monitor the case, address outstanding documents, communicate with me, and keep the process moving. Instead, I had to repeatedly chase him for updates and ultimately contact the court myself to find out what was happening. Probate is already difficult when you're dealing with the loss of both parents. Having to fight for basic communication from the attorney I hired only made it worse. In hindsight, paying the entire fee upfront should have been my first red flag. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this attorney for probate.
