Great experience. I had two very large trees taken down including a large mulberry tree. The were quick to reply to my emails. Great price as I did have 5 different quotes from different tree companies. They were not the lowest but were extremely fair and professional. Kai and his team were out last week, first week of January 2020, and began a big job of removing six trees and the stump grinding. They were able to get four of the trees done in one day and then returned today to finish the last two, grind the stumps and trim the front oak. Great job on all the removal and cleanup. These guys were the 4th company I had give me an estimate. They all quoted about the same. I had a tree hanging over my house so I was a bit worried about damage when they took it down but they had no problems and got it down quick. 35' mulberry. From estimate to felled tree was about a week. Awesome! One guy I actually hired took three months of scheduling mishaps and then at the last minute said it was too far for his piece of sh!7 truck. Not the best of luck with tree guys until I met these guys. They didn't play around. 2.5 hours and it was done and cleaned up. Good clean up too. Nice job fellas. While the guy who came out to do the estimate was pleasant enough... the day came to bring our tree down and all of the sudden " I can do it for this price, I must have quoted it wrong .. Hey finally a tree trimming company that did a good job. They came over, gave me an estimate(fair price without playing stupid sales games), and did the job a week later. On 7-25-2021, we had a bad storm in Oak Park which knocked down two power wires in my backyard. My neighbor's tree caught on fire and a large branch failed into my backyard. After DTE came out and shut off the power to the wires and removed the wires they informed me that they could not remove the branches. I was expecting to pay between $ 700 or $900. After doing my research and reading reviews, I decided to go with ABK Tree Service because they had about 90 percent positive reviews. I called Kai Cox and left a voice message because they were closed. The next morning Kai came out to my house and gave me an estimate of $450 which was unbelievable. I immediately said "that's a deal". They came out the next day to do the work but DTE had 3 or 4 trucks in front of my house and my neighbor's house. So Kai texted me and told me that they would return the next day around 12 p.m. They showed up around 12 and got to work. Kai did not show up but one of the worker name Jake stepped up. He was the hardest worker on the crew. When there was a decision to be made, he contacted Kai and did what ever that needed to be done. He never stood around talking or complaining he just worked. He was always polite and respectful. ABK Tree Service did an excellent job. And Jake was like Superman because he went beyond his job description in removing branches that was on my neighbor side but would have eventually fallen on my side and maybe injured someone. After calling two other tree trimmers and having them give me the runaround, I turned to yelp and found ABK. I called and within a few hours someone was here giving me an estimate. I explained what I wanted done and the person was completely understanding and even offered up a few suggestions. He gave me his price, which was very fair, and I asked him when they could get the job done. He told me that he could do it the following day! Unfortunately it rained, but they were nice enough to call and reschedule for the next day. I came home from work to see that they had done a fantastic job on the tree. In fairness I got a prompt estimate from them based on a rec, and I was also out of town at the time and so could not follow up within their 10 day window. However, I called to follow up twice to close the deal over the next 4 weeks, and my call was never returned. I wanted their business based on a recommendation, but again, none of my calls were returned. I'm a cash buyer. I'm a home owner. If you want my business, return my call.
