In Calgary, in a garage and asked if he could service it. He moaned and complained and finally said "$250" I said ok. I returned next day, paid him cash and left. Next morning I tried to make some coffee, but the portafikter would not engage. No matter what i tried (using another portafilter) releasing the screen and replacing it, I could not insert the portafilter. I called him to explain I was surprised at this and even though explaining that I'm experienced and knowledgeable about my machine, he could not offer solutions. The conversation ended. I expected him to simply say to come over and he would fix it. This man does not LaPavoni machines. He is rude, complaining, and I should have sensed something was wrong. $250 for a standard seal replacement? Outrageous. Avoid this guy, or don't. If you drop in and visit him have a chat. You will understand what I mean.

A very easy fix. So i said go ahead and clean it so it works. They gave me the vacuum back with the cansiter full of debris! as a simple courtesy, they didn't even empty it. She took it someplace and they "fixed" it, but it never worked quite right. The tension was difficult to manage. I called Henry a few weeks ago, after the machine seized up completely. Henry came to my house, cleaned the machine, got in running, but the tension was still not right. He took apart the tension assembly, realized there was a piece missing, and told me where I could order a new one. That part arrived yesterday. It was easy to install. Now my old Singer zigzag machine works like a dream. The tension is perfect. Thanks Henry. I should have called you years ago. Worth every penny.

I even help him with some of the scews that were tuff to get out. He showed me where to use the oil and what kind. He took time to make sure that each compoment was functioning properely. At the end he demonstrated it to make sure it was working right especially with the stitches. All was good. the tension was too loose and found out that the little screw needed to be tightened. He was very kind and we had a good chat. He even gave me some needles because I did not have any. I will get him back again to check out my other machine that I have in a cabinate

But, I believe he is just as happy and successful with the same number of delighted customers at the same spot he has been at for decades. I was able to phone in my issue and he not only gave me his diagnosis but told me how to get my machine apart to get at the belt without the usual male attitude towards women. How refreshing!!! When I picked up the belt he showed my daughter and I the same respect he demonstrated on the phone. This alone is huge but it went further than that. When I called in I thought we needed a new pump motor which he stated cost around 2-300 dollars but as we discussed the problem he believed it was a stretched belt that only cost 10.50 to replace. Imagine that -- knowledgable, courteous, respectful AND honest!!! If only all businesses were run with the same integrity!!! Thank you for your many years of servicing our community
