We received Evan Robitaille's name from a friend when looking for a home inspector on a new home purchase. He came highly recommended based on his thoroughness, strong attention to detail, and knowledge. I have had one other inspection before on a previous purchase with a different inspection company and I felt a lot was missed, so I wanted someone with a great reputation. He far exceeded my expectations and I was thoroughly impressed! Evan arrived early and provided me with his detailed observations and recommendations around the outside of the property. My husband and I used Able Home Inspection for a home we wanted to purchase for our kids to grow up in. Evan was the first one at the house. Evan was so thorough and descriptive that I myself, a hospitality manager felt like I could actually understand everything that was wrong with the house. Dennis performed an inspection of a vacation home in Campton, NH that we had made an offer on. I cannot speak highly enough of the services that Mr. Robitaille provided for us. We were unable to be present for the inspection, however, Mr. Robitaille took over 100 photos of the house, documenting numerous issues related to water damage, mold, rodent infestation, possible structural problems and plumbing issues. He went into all hidden areas of the house (attic, crawl spaces, etc.), took moisture readings with an electronic moisture meter, checked every appliance and plumbing fixture, probed for rotting wood high and low and tested every faucet and toilet. The level of detail of his inspection was way beyond anything we expected. After returning from the inspection, he wrote up a detailed 25 page report and provided captions of each of the 80 or so photos he ended up emailing to us. The final product was delivered by 9 pm of the same day of the inspection. The bottom line is, he saved us from buying what superficially seemed to be a spectacular house but in fact was anything but. I give my highest recommendation to him. Greg Buckle read more

I've asked these guys to do 2 inspections for me. Evan did them both. He's an awesome inspector. I'd ask him to do more inspections if I wasn't going to buy this house. What I like about Evan: answers questions, does his best to educate the buyer, personable, reliable, careful, thorough, turns over detailed written report the evening following inspection. And that report is a PDF with photos and useful links. What's not to like? 2 more things to note: (1) Evan consults his dad, who's been in the business for a long time, whenever he has a question on something he sees in the house. I've seen them text back and forth to get answers immediately, in real-time. So you benefit not only from Evan's knowledge, but also his dad's knowledge and experience. This is a nice bonus. (2) There are less expensive inspectors, but why would you skimp out on something so important? If you're buying a house in metro Boston, you're paying big bucks. We hired Dennis about 7 years ago for an inspection on our first house, and when we called this time to schedule for our second house (new construction), were told that Evan was now also doing inspections. We figured if he was anything like his father, we would end up with someone knowledgeable, thorough, and honest, and we got that in spades. Even with a reschedule on our part due to a schedule slip right before Thanksgiving, they were accommodating and were able to get us in, and got the report to us that evening. Evan caught a few major issues, even with new construction (so people, YES, get it for a new house, you never know what your builder was up to!!), and was a great help with his recommendations, showing and pointing out the issues so I could see them, and was a help on how and when to ask for the fixes from the builder. In addition, these guys are the only inspectors in NH that have signed the "No Conflict of Interest Pledge", so there are no worries that they're in someone's back pocket. Evan Robitaille performed the inspection on a home I am purchasing, I hadn't needed an inspector in some 22 years but let me say: THOROUGH - METHODICAL-PRECISE- to mention a few words that describes this gentleman. The services he provided paid off in the health and well being of my family. When we arrived (on time), Evan was already there. He was taking photos and examining the roof/construction of the house from a distance when we pulled up. What a way to make a first impression! I cannot recommend Able Home Inspections enough!!! They are independent home inspectors, not recommended by real estate agents, and for us it was a plus. They charged us a fair price, totally worth considering the high quality of both the inspection and the reports they sent us after. We were about to buy a property, but the 3 hours inspection Evan performed showed us a lot of hidden problems and threats that finally convinced us NOT to buy. First of all I have to say their communication was great! It was relieving to meet Evan and be guided through the home inspection process, such as he did. Every step along the way he showed us what he found, how it would effect us and what the proper repair or solution was. We never thought a home inspection on a NEW build would be so important. Evan found multiple code violations that inspectors had signed off on. He found potential problems with a few of the landscaping issues on the property that would lead to water damage down the road. In the end, with the report in hand we were able to negotiate over $20,000 off the purchase , plus get over $40,000 in repairs made to the home before we even purchased it.
